5v is only required for auto-shooters and such.. joysticks are digital on off on atari and ti.. just the ti uses one port for 2x and atari is 2 ports.. 32kram is not a cart, it's a side-car box OR nanopeb/cf7 (side car) and or a perepheral expansion box.. lots of great pictures at mainbyte.. http://www.mainbyte.com/ti99/ Greg -

You need an atari adapter.. you can make one with this info: http://www.mainbyte.com/ti99/hardware/cables/joystick.html or buy one here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-NOS-1982-Wico-Joystick-Adaptor-TI99-4a-Texas-Instruments-72-4530-/351024127182?pt=US_Video_Game_Controllers&hash=item51baab1cce Greg -

yep that was it.. screwed up the atmel burn which caused all my issues.. i have 3.0 running reliably.. i noticed that in 2.7 if you hit space in the menu you get some games, 3.0 not so much
-
Think my problem was that I wasn't doing the oscillator before attempting to program for each chip.. pebkac testing xb3 again, had a buttload of problems programming rxb and that turned out to be why
-
Ok I'll see about getting some AM's to try out. I've def experienced flakey burns with my programmer and the old adapter..
-
Mess supports the geneve mouse and mechatronic mouse on the 4/a
-
used the same atmel and rom chip for both burns 1284p and AT49F040B I got a bunch from Jim.
-
27 works as expected.. no issues to report..
-
nothing loads from rom, issues with xb it loads but locks up.. could be my side will try burning 27 now.. Greg
-

Do we have a "list" of images for the uber now? Greg

V1? V2? the com1 or rs232/9902 model?

I have/had a mechatronic mouse, it was very useful in ti-artist (with the driver) and in extended basic i could convert games to work with it, tweeked a missile command game at one time.. also i wrote mousedesk for it but that never went anywhere interesting.. Mine stopped working a few years back, and I really haven't figured out if it's the mouse itself or the power supply.. it has a built in power supply connected to the joystick plug via a cable.. i pretty much left it plugged in for years and years so I'm thinking that may be the issue .. I've seen a couple serial mice out there, would be interesting to get one working with my software and ti-artist asgard had one at one time.. Greg
-
Ok I fiddled more.. and figured something out.. if i drop the chip in with just the pins 1-20 in my programmer, it let me program the fuses back to stock.. and erase it.. effectively unlocked..
-
ok well i breadboarded this up and nada.. still says unable to enter programming mode Greg

Programmer is a older "pocket programmer" (parallel port model, have to keep an old laptop around to use it) from intronics http://secure.transtronics.com/EPROM_Programmer.html seems to be the modern version at a much higher price.. http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=Intronics%20Pocket%20Programmer%20Flash%20Eprom%20Honda%20BMW%20EX&_itemId=7602421182 cheaper ones http://www.ebay.com/itm/221072216777 is the adapter I just bought

HDX working in Linux using WINE
arcadeshopper replied to arcadeshopper's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
It runs but mess is better Greg -
After emailing back and forth Fred has determined this is a issue caused by Ti99dir not following the same standards as hdx and his emulator.. He is working on a fix to clear it up.. Greg

I successfully configured my Xubuntu 14.04 machine to work with HDX today. All it took was a simple simlink in the ~/.wine/dosdevices/ directory linking com1 to /dev/ttyUSB0 (my usb rs232 port) and then adding my user to the 'dialout' group so it would have access to the port. Loaded HDX via wine and it worked "out of the gate" to load a directory and copy a file. This testing was done with a 99/4a and Nanopeb V1.0 and a rs232 cable with auto-handshaking.. More info on wine rs232 config: http://www.winehq.org/docs/wineusr-guide/misc-things-to-configure http://www.witch.westfalen.de/Wine-HOWTO/ch-serial.html Serial and parallel port configuration is very similar to drive configuration - simply create a symbolic link in ~/.wine/dosdevices with the name of the device. Windows serial ports follow a naming convention of the word com followed by a number, such as com1, com2, etc. Similarly, parallel ports use lpt followed by a number, such as lpt1. You should link these directly to the corresponding Unix devices, such as /dev/ttyS0 and /dev/lp0. Make sure you have the needed access rights to that device. For example, to configure one serial port and one parallel port, run the following commands: ln -s /dev/ttyS0 com1 ln -s /dev/lp0 lpt1
