OR you hit scroll lock, select the menu entries for what you want in the slots, the cart and disk images, and go

I know what you mean. There is always 'something else' I want to do. For instance I'm toying with the idea of setting up my spare TI system in another room of the house. Since the second system is not HDX equipped, and too far away from the main system, I'd like to be able to telnet to it over the local network.
If somebody could write a telnet based server for the PC, it could be useful to ANYONE with any model/brand of classic computer, not just the TI. Of course the programs on the classic computer side would all be different, but essentially work the same way. Imagine a telnet based server on the PC, but on the TI side it might resemble CF2K visually, but when you select a program to copy, it would handle all the commands to the UDS-10, download the files and put them on the TI. It would essentially be a front end for the UDS-10 that also saves downloads.
Almost any classic computer with an RS-232 can use the UDS-10, most people run PC's or can emulate them in Mac's. This kind of software would probably be used by a lot of people... and maybe become a standard of sorts for the classic computing community.
But heck, even a simple personal BBS (mainly a download section) for the PC that would handle telnet connections would be helpful.
Um.. write?
Ever hear of linux? telnet built in, file xfer protocols built in? how bout a raspberry pi?, run windows? that's ok you can use cygwin or run a vm.. mac has unix on board, just enable telnet

i have one. no carts or overlays.. just dumps for the gk and on disk.. played with it a little way back. mostly keep it in my "neet ti stuff"box under the desk now..
I'll note if anyone has extra carts I'm interested for reasonable cost.

Forgive my ignorance, I had seen the SID player on youtube but never put 2 and 2 together with regards to Marc, oh well that will be another bloody item on my to buy list-damn you Texas Instruments, you will bankrupt me in the end!!!!!

Yep I just bought one, nice board.. pretty blue light.. only issue if if you have a speech synth you have to jumper over the sound line from one side to the other.. TI didn't wire it through

I don't include games in the Classic99 folder that don't work in Classic99, that would be getting really silly.

Sounds like you're running my TI BASIC "Space Fighter" game. Enemies don't start to appear until you start moving - use A/Z and S/X to adjust speed and shield power.
This one?
Yep that's it! that game's screaming for an instruction page

Hunt around for old Horizon on ebay, now and then they appear. -- I really need to get around to typing the printout for ROS9 in and compiling it again, it was going to be alot better then ROS 8.14F
Starting next month I going to look at slowly releasing my previous commercial stuff with new public licenses for everyone to enjoy and use on hardware and emulators, and start filling up my o-p-a.biz with info along with my big ti99 archive.
Don't you have CF7+ I find them fast, all tho personally I would like writing a better DSR for it, using stuff my Horizon ROS project and adding some more shit.
Can't you run the CF7 along with real PEB as mod? -- I have to try that, or maybe someone should port the CF7 project over to a full-size PEB card, would make for simple ramdisk way, not as fast but saves having batteries, or maybe add some caching ram for boast of speed, with a my idea of better dsr to improve operation.
If you use a splitter cable you should be able to do that. I ordered a cable and it just makes my console go BORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPP so I rma'd it.. waiting for replacement
Imho a pbox card with a cf card (rather than battery backed ram) is the best idea. But instead of making it floppy disk images, make it a hard drive with HFDC compat DSR .. while I'm dreaming

Can any of the .DSK files be converted into PC99 for transferring to a REAL TI ?
Yes.. with tidir or tiimagetool or used with hdx to copy direct over that, or copied to fiad's to use with hdx..

I was going through my Crawl space over the past few days and I am digging out all of my stored TI items. There are a few upgrades that I would like to do and have no idea on the value of some of my items that I may sell to purchase the upgrades. I always keep a spare set of PEB Cards but may sell them for the upgrades depending on price. Any input on value would be appreciated.
TI RS232 Card (I have seen them go for various prices on ebay)
TI Disk Controller (I have seen them go for various prices on ebay)
TI 32k Memory Card (I have seen them go for various prices on ebay)
CorComp Disk Controller Card (Have not seen one for sale for awhile)
CorComp RS232 Card
TI 10" Color Monitor PHA4100A
I'll give you $20 ea for the TI cards .. lmk

Fortunately not for all systems. The Commodore 1541 and compatibles did just fine without the hard-index hole. ISTR the Atari 810s needed the index, though I am not certain about the 1050. I believe the early Disk ][ interfaces required the index, as well.
TI requires it.

I picked this monitor up with a bunch of TI stuff the other day. It looks and works fine, but it's a GREEN SCREEN (eeeeeech) and of no use to me at all. I doubt any TI'er would want it either. I was thinking maybe an early Apple II user or something? Anyway I figured it would be prudent to I ask, just to be sure, but I'm thinking the value on this thing has to be less than NOTHING, because I cannot even find one on eBay.
Monochrome monitors were thought to be good for data entry. They display 80 column text clearly from a composite input. I can't see anyone wanting one other than for "archival"

Back in the day, I would use a hole-puncher to punch the 2 holes on the other side of the disk, so that the opto could see it. I had a SS/SD drive, so after said hole-punching, I would get 2 disks for 1.
yes me too.. have many a "flippy floppy'

ssdd and dsdd are identical disks.. I've formatted many a ssdd disk as a dd disk and it worked fine and vice versa. Their "recycled" disks are excellent quality.. I bought 100 and they seem great.. blue too..

I got a few inquiries from uk/europe who want to use paypal. I personally refuse to do business with paypal. If any one out there in the US wants to receive some $ via paypal and send it to me for them via google wallet I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

Or if you forget, use this attachment...
Very nice, can you print out 1000 of those, assemble them and mail them to me?

Hmmm... No problems with classic 99 on my end. BTW, there are no torpedoes or fuel in the game. Are we running the same game

Ahh no... No birds in space I'm afraid
The instructions are simple: get through the tunnel without bumping into the energized borders or the intervening barriers. Press any key to activate your thrusters and press Q for shields in desperate situations. This game was my submission to the Short & Sweet Game Contest back in 2010 created by Opry99er here on AtariAge where each submission had to fit in only 30 lines of Extended Basic and up to 10 DATA lines. There were a total of 17 entries (!), all of them very impressive. The entire collection is on the Gameshelf site under SSGC, but I plan on posting all the games individually with the next update.Cool.. still doesn't work for me in classic 99 just the static display with fuel and torpedos flashing.. will try in mess or on a real TI when i get home

Sometimes the "good olde day's" were not as we remember them. When I picked up a bunch of TI stuff yesterday, I saw this attached to TI-Writer, then it came back to me how much I originally spent the first time through...
I never had ti-writer until a few months ago Mr Jt handed me a copy.. Always had the software versions.. something else then funnlweb.

I just converted a gotek floppy emu into an amiga adf loader .. cortexamigafloppydriver.wordpress.com I have to take apart one of the boxes to put it as DF0, but it reads fine as DF2 in an external drive case and i can read the startup adf.. cant select any others till it's df0.. sometime later i will put it in the 2k or 3k as df0 and try that..
