  1. B&C - Strictly professional. They always refund shipping costs without the need to ask.

Last purchase I made from them, they didn't do this. I had to ask three weeks later for the difference, especially since they charged me $17, and it ended up costing them a little over $5. The BS part there was they only gave me back a couple of dollars. That just moved them down the queue for when I need Atari stuff...

I like B&C myself. For the most part I've had all positive dealings. Last month I bought 2 800xl keyboards and one arrived and did not work. I got mad and just threw it out, didn't complain or ask for my money back cause I was too busy and had to much going on at the time;but that my fault, they always work with you and yes their shipping refund are not perfect.

  2. Well, no, it's not what I am looking for of course, but as far as value goes, I would say maybe $20 bucks or so. It looks to be in very good condition as well.

I'd pay double what ever he's paying for an original super zaxxon :D

it's a crappy cart and game is horrible but a must for any 8-bit cart collector

  3. AtariMax - best

    B&C - excellent

Best - never used due to minimum order $$

Video 61 - never used due to his attitude in this forum.

    Bravo Sierra (arg!!!)

Others I have bought from who are not "dealers" in the sense that the above are:

    Metalguy66 - excellent

    kjmann - excellent

    Mr Atari - excellent

    Gr8 - excellent

    candle - excellent

Having bought from many people, I am sure I have left someone out - I apologize for that.

I gotta give kudos to GR8 software as well! Very cool!

  4.

I agree, this is ridiculous, nobody is becoming a millionaire from selling Atari hardware. Dealers are few now, and they need to be supported....

Without getting in the actual subject, which I don't know who was right o who was wrong... I have to say that we have to support our add-on vendor (atarimax (steve) , candle...) for sure. The other vendors, like Best Electronics , B& C and others alike, is great if we can support them, but lete's not forget that they are selling either to make money or to recover losses. Otherwise, they would only charge shipping and handling, but some of this vendor would charge lots of money for some parts...

So, support the ones that treat you nice, support the ones that add something to our A8 computers (add-ons) but let just not support because there are a few of them.

If they are only in it to make money then why do they only sell "one per customer" for some of the titles they sell??? ...that's a bit confusing to me :D

and I prefer to support "vintage" sellers since I like original stuff mostly

  5. I've heard rumors Kjmann got a lot of grief on ebay for selling reproductions and not stating as such. I myself like the enhancments of the games as if they are sold as reproductions and stated they are then no one should be upset. I just wish the quality of the cartridge labels at v61 where as sharp as those Kjmann produces with his carts.

I'd know what I'm buying and therefore would buy from both of them...maybe Brian you were trying to get some free stuff either from FirstStar or V61 by raising hell!? :D

I think this thread should be deleted all together in my opinion!

  6. So the pin broke off the monitor cable?

I once repaired an old inbuilt EGA monitor cable, IIRC I cut a small sliver of solder wire, put it into the hole in the plug, then put the pin in and applied heat.

But in that case you're talking something the size/spacing of an Atari joystick cable (except male type of course).

Doing the same on an ST cable would be a whole lot trickier.

About the only other alternative would be to cut the whole plug off and solder an entire new one on.

Or possibly easier - just modify the ST itself, add an RCA jack that carries the sound, STE-style, and just run some cheap PC speakers.

yep, a pin broke off the monitor cable. It's a shame the monitor works great too.

    It's a 1040stfm not 1040ste

  7. :lust: I love my Atari :lust:

Plus I'm very glad there are still people out there selling atari vintage stuff and keeping the hobby going! If I need a keyboard for my xl I know where to buy a new one, if I need a new mouse for my Atari 1040 ST I know where to go, If I need a sealed XE/XEGS game I know where to go!!! ...now how cool is that!!!

  8. I emailed First Star. A similar question asking about Video 61 repros in a different topic had no reply for three years. To make matters worse the reply after three years left the question unanswered and a complaint about someone bringing up an old topic was what happened when the unanswered question was brought back up. The replies afterward didn't provide an answer either. Pathetic for a question to be unanswered for that long (no it wasn't my post).

Lance (Video61) Has Permission For All The Games He Sells.

I don't see the word reproduction anywhere in Lance's 400/800 cart list. How do I tell if a cart is proto, repro or original?

    Perry

Good point. I agree, if you are selling atari "vintage" games if the game is a reproduction then it should be flagged as such so there is no confusion. I don't want to buy a Matterhorn for $19.95 and be mad it's not original :D

as stated in previous post, reproductions that fix bugs and make cool enhancements to favorite all time games are a cool thing!

  9. i am looking for a 800 (not xl) computer and/or accessorries in boxed...perhaps sealed condition and will pay for the right set up.

This was my second computer growing up after my ti-99/4 (no a)...traded it for an apple II plus...

Not sealed but boxed and working and everything matches. Send me a note if you want to buy and you are offering over $150+ :D

  12. Hi,

As one of the Vemnezuelan sellers, I can bring light to all your questions, I have read so far.

Yes, Is a big and messy Warehouse full with incredible stuff, mostly software but also Hardware, and is always surprises there. The owner was a big mogul of the Video Game in my country, was the Exclusive distributor for Atari and Nintendo in Venezuela, but he also purchses from other systems.

The most of the Computer Games was a clearence made by a Distributor who has a big return from Musicland (a lot of games with stickers)

About the sellers, We are mainly 4 and we know each other. There´s a long history there, I did a very good detective work to find out the warehouse, and came up with the name of the owner, My associate find out (with the name i gave him) the Owner and the warehouse, But i was betrayed, and look up for myself the location, and of course I did.

I´m the newest guy in the bunch and I try to learn of the mistakes or bad practices of the others, Like I always take pictures of back and forth of the actual Item and always ship that item, with the exeptions of ship a better one when the auction goes high (I did that a couple of weeks ago) and Combine ship properly.

    The sellers are:

Buysellven who now has 2 accounts, Sftca and the one in Texas, he has an associate there who storage games and ships as requested, and charges a fee for that. He didn´t combine ship even in the Tx account and the pictures are stock and he doesn´t care about condition, he´s not a collector. Btw is a Man

Mundo_Ludico: He´s a collector and cares a little bit more about condition, and He´s also a Man, don´t get fool by the name, is a guy´s name in my country. I don´t know how manages ships and pictures

Chevyfrank, also a guy a kind of a partner with Mundo_ludico, I don´t know how manages ships and pictures

classics_in: Me, temporaly off ebay due my inexperience to handle the infamous Ship delay, but I will be back soon.

If you want to get something from Venezuela, you can ask me, Dom knows me and he can tell the selling experience on Ebay with me.

I hope this satisfies the questions, there´s still a lot of warehouse to dig up, many wonders to uncover or rescue.

Thank You For you words and description of the sellers. I really want to buy so many things from you guys! But after my experience I decided to never buy again.

The buysellven is a terrible person and rude as can be, I've been on ebay from day 1 and in all my years I had never left negative feedback for anyone except this seller. It took about 75 days to deliver, I got partial refund, and the item arrived like a 20,000 pound elephant sat on. :?

It was my first order and my last. If you can do a better job and would send new items as described I'd buy from you.
