  1. Mainly collector value. The protection books are interesting reading though.

Practically everything ever made has cracked versions around. Uncracked cart images (8K at least) will run on flash carts.

What's the deal with that Chipmunk disk copier - does it work with parameter / patches that get applied or something ?

yep chipmunk book has the codes and after you do a copy if the disk does not work then you put side A of disk in and get the parameter for that particular game. it makes an exact backup of the original disk....love the old school software from back in the day!

  2. I just picked up my second Impersonator cart and it's the most complete set I've ever seen. The cart even has the company logo on it!

Here's my Impersonator with the rest of my Alpha Systems A8 collection, all in beautiful condition. My Impersonator is just as complete, except someone taped the paper to the front of the disk sleeve. Not a bad idea at the time, as it creates a nice pocket to store the cart in.

How valuable is this stuff? I guess I'd consider selling the whole set if the price was right.

You have a very complete collection of disks and documentation. The cartridge is rare and never shows up on ebay. I believe you have $200-$300 worth of items assuming they are tested and working. I have the cartridge, disk, and manual myself or I'd make you an offer. I love Chipmunk software myself and use it a lot!

  3. So, currently, I believe it to be from Atari, original, and never released. Possibly a prototype or trade show "mock-up".

I'm still looking for more information, literature, and the disk (if I ever had it).

I think this cartridge is an extremely rare find and I might consider selling it. The person would need to be a serious collector, and it wouldn't be cheap.

    The cartridge is incredible condition.

why would you sell it, especially after showing us all your cartridges and tribute to pitfalljones!??? I'd say it's a keeper

Come to think of it there are some sick prices on ebay right now for XEGS games (Karateka,Mario Bros.,Summer Games) where seller wants $200-$250+ for these games and there is a seller in Germany wanting $600 USD for Pastfinder so your Checkbook might bring $20,000!!!

I'm still a little upset over not receiving this piece of merchandise.

Also, the user ID 'cartoonkid2000' is no longer a registered user. What a waste of nearly 500 positive feedbacks.

And I bought it again for $139... But what is it missing from the original auction? Side deals... eBay Auction -- Item Number: 2509974606561?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=250997460656&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

my guess is you will be disappointed...probably the guy who struck the sidedeal tried it and did not work or something not working well? it may be a project for you...

  5. It's for Atari 800 only. So would not work on a standard atari 800xl.

Perhaps you missed quote #8. It will work on SOME standard Atari XL machines. I know that becuase I have the carts and standard machines. True, it won't work on all XL machines, but, on some, it will. Reading quote #8 will help you find out if your machine will work with your Fort Apocalypse cart.

Thanks Beamer :) yeah missed your post

I still think $300 is insane especially since seller is probably sitting on a pile of them.

  6. Anyone know how many matterhorn's exist? I heard a rumor of 10 in exist?

What is history behind this cartridge and Espial and does anyone have one boxed?

    Hi there.

I've been out of Atari circulation for a while, but, when I was last around, there were 12 Matterhorn carts known, but no box. One of them is mine, and two of the others were, at some point.

The boxed Espial pictured on Atarimania is mine.

Sealed Espial in the picture? If not sealed can you take picture of cart & manual?

  7. I have an Atari "Assembler Editor" Cartridge and an Atari "Editor Assembler" cartridge. Not sure why it's reversed?

I would still love to see the two carts you mention here, I've never seen the latter.

I have to dig for mine but another member on AA posted the picture of the cart before, same as mine
