  1. those keys are so lovely :)

Also, once you get into the top speed groove, it's almost automatic (just gotta love those keys)

for those wondering, while the 3rd intermission is pacman chasing the bell and then a giant ghost on the comeback, the 4th is pac-man chasing the key, with the giant ghost on the return, as someone noted, I don't believe I've seen those two intermissions anywhere else.

about the game speed, you don't need to 150k for it to go apes--t speed, just daddle in the game and it will kick it up... Nice, however it does keep the original's rule about a nice spot :)

  3. Why are Tutankham and Super Cobra on this list? They're actually decent.

Vectron is not bad - just has a bit of a learning curve as you figure out what the badword is going on, and becomes impossible past a certain level...

Kool-Aid Man, Zaxxon and Maze A Tron are bad... Donkey Kong, however, is apocalyptically bad.

What, level 100? I've had it in the 90s...

  4. as for the speed, it was just a blanket statement in case like Lock 'n Chase, you could choose different speeds...

Opening thoughts (Atarisoft version played for these thoughts)

First though was to come and congratulate them for a well done game (reversing ghosts) but more I played, the more I got pissed off at it... Be at the power pellet, but since 1/100th of a pixel of a ghost touched you the moment you had the power pellet and you die? Seriously?

Also, the blue wears off too fast/combined to the tie there always goes to the ghosts....

Also, the ghosts travel way too slow through the escape tunnel, but that's negated by the game having a nearly uncanny programming block to avoid going through on 99.99% of situations...

Maybe I need to pop in the INTV version just in case.

  5. gobble gobble and eat those dots to rock 'n roll..

Place note if your using the Atarisoft or the INTV rerelease version of the game, both will be accepted unless it comes out that one is severly different than one another.

Games are to be played at top speed...

Scores will be accepted until Sunday July 6th @ Noon Central..

  6. That's why I posted it, thought it was quite funny, wonder what google translate would butcher it, as that was Bing's doing.

Never mind, just ran it thru google's..

Dishonest Ernesto has escaped with cute Lupita - Sinforoso the bride blushing. They all live in North Villaconejos.
Ernesto is a petty Dishonest tiparraco. Devora bricks buttered for breakfast. It is a giant. Use rocks to bowling. The carry in your pocket, like coins. Each time you play bowling, wins the game; which is not surprising.
Apparently Lupita dissuaded him from his amorous attempts strictly. Everyone saw it. Ernesto was intone when Dishonest captured her and ran away with it.
Sinforoso the blushing is skinny, but her courage has no rival. Has cornered atop the old skyscraper "Hare." Sinforoso the blushing jumping over rocks Ernesto Dishonest is throwing him. Avoid the birds and bats and rats jumping over - all to rescue his beloved Lupita.

  7. I love how "Bing" translates that :)

    Translated...

  8. Time for Buford to save the lady, so get climbing up those buildings....

NOTE on Scoring, to avoid a leeching issue, scoring will count on # of buildings completed. Example, completing 3 buildings and 2 pieces of the next building will be scored as 3.2, and if a player falls off the side, the score is what is shown at game over, meaning if at the top of the building on the last life and falling to your death will result in a score of x.0

Scoring will be accepted until Sunday, June 22nd, 2014 @ noon central.

    Update soon

  9. 48,250

    A few notes...

One the free life at 20,000 does also occur at 40,000.

Two, the third trip through the levels was a little wierd, level 9 was not the crowded traffic pattern, that occurred at level 10 (and where this game ended). Level 9 was a mostly easy car section with a sparse water availability.

  10. Hints and Tips - Frogger (Intellivision)

    (Personal notes on the game)

    • It seems that they only programmed three levels for this game, as level 4 returns to the level 1 easy layout of cars/water section, with just the addition of the snake/croc/otter. So if one can get by level 3, you should be able to make level 6 without much effort, helping to boost the scores.
    • Also, the level selection is not as one would think. Level 1 is the classic game (but with wraparound in the water section). Due to the Intellivision's paging and/or programming as it was done, this can cause the frog to be off the log/croc/turtle and be on the water instead. However, the game only makes a check if the player is safe or not upon moving, so as long as your next hop puts Frogger on a safe spot, you are fine. *In other words, ignore the manual's wording that you have to hop quickly, as being safe trumps a quick hop*
    • Level 2 is placing the game at Level #4 of Frogger (1st pattern, with the croc/snake/otter). The wraparound still remains. Level 3 copies level 1 setup, while Level 4 copies level 2's setup, with the only difference is going off the right side now results in death, instead of wraparound.
    • As much as the nostalgic side of you may want to listen to the frogger theme at the start of the level, don't, as the timer starts ticking as soon as the game is drawn. Yes, unlike the arcade version the theme stops immediately upon moving, it's better than having your time clock run (and lower your scores and/or death)

Any other hints, share to all :)
