  1. I recently played a game against the Inty on its second-highest difficulty level (#5). Details here, including the gamescore and an animated GIF of the game.

As a chess player, I'd be surprised if it can actually play stronger than 1200/1300 ELO. Besides, on the highest levels, it'd most likely lose on time (or for "over heating" as reported in the other posts  )

Based on what I've seen so far, I'm guessing that the highest level will be about 1400 USCF, so in the same ballpark. It plays a better game than one would expect, but has a strange habit of self-destructing in the middlegame somewhere around move 25. Having said that, just about all our games have been in the same basic line (1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. f4 exf4?!), and I haven't systematically tried anti-computer tactics against it. Of course, it's horrendously slow on Level 5, and I expect that'll only get worse on Level 6.

I thought I read somewhere that the INTV chess program have a glitch in it that caused it's algorithm to break down between moves 23 - 27. If so that's what will prevent it from being higher than 1300 or so.

  2. I have it, and I'd be happy to send the BIN file to ya, if you like... The major differences, (beyond the "data east" copywrite at the startup, is that Lupin is NO longer allowed to stop dead on a straight-way (aka pushing left/right during one of the tunnels next to the bank ($) will not stop Lupin inside the tunnel, and Lupin does the fold into the hat animation the arcade "Lock 'n Chase" had. I personally prefer the original 4K as I grew up using the stopping mid straightaway to reshuffle the cops where I want them (mostly to trap in corner, etc)

  3. For classic INTV...

    Lock 'n Chase

    Ice Trek

    Demon Attack

    Beauty and the Beast

Nova Blast (if your into space shooters)

    Burgertime (OF COURSE)

Some others depending on tastes can include

The AD&D series (Cloudy Mountain and Treasure of Tarmin)

    Thunder Castle

    Thin Ice (Duncan hehe)

He-Man, masters of the Universe (tons better than the VCS version)

Venture (surprisingly for a coleco release, not bad at all)

    Vectron (Acquired taste)

    PBA Bowling and Pinball

  4. Classic, get a hold of the 2nd version of the LNC bin file then, Connie over at Mattel got to do a 6K re-release of the game (the original was crammed into 4K) in which Lupin does not stop dead if you press too early on a corner, and also does the nice "arcade" fall into hat death animation. You'll know you got the right bin file as the original 4K only has the Mattel Copywrite info, while the 6K version has both Data East and Mattel copywrite info on the title screen. (Since someone was nice with recording software, I'll get Youtube videos up of both so u can see the difference.)

  5. Depends, if your doing it from a pure collecting standpoint, nothing beats SIB (Sealed in Box), but for those who love the time/games, nothing like opening something that nobody has ever done before, and who knows you could find something in there that wasn't supposed to be there (mistakes do happen) :)

  6. Level 2 - Why no lock in of the Red cop in the top left corner after the first $? It would of made it a lot easier for ya :)

Also, it left that left tunnel for end, so that wasn't good...

Level 3 - To which it looks like you fixed it all, but for the run in with blueie right at the end of the level :(

Level 4 - It seems your getting right into the groove as you go on... the doors are your friends :) BTW, the secondary object is not really worth it until at least the camera (1,000) and then the bobby pin on up (with exception of the lamp 400)...

Yes scoring on the secondary object is not anything like Pac-Man, the objects are not anywhere near linear.
