  1. In 1981 I programmed a Pac Man clone in TI Basic (TI PUCK - on the tigameshelf.net site) and I had a similar issue. Never figured it out at the time. In 2007 I took another look at my handwritten code and finally realized that one of the subroutines was not returning properly under specific conditions. Wait a couple of decades then take another stab at Marcus. All will be clear! 😄
  2. I assume your blood pressure is ok? Also glaucoma can be a cause of the symptoms you describe. Perhaps a visit to your neighborhood ophthalmologist might shed some light. I hope they figure it out for you.
  3. Is this organizer hackable for programming?
  4. If the headaches are waking you up at night or you have them as soon as you wake up in the morning, please see your doctor asap.
  5. May he rest in peace. I wonder if we should have an "in memoriam" pinned page on this forum commemorating our lost community members...
  6. That sounds like a stack problem, probably a subroutine not exiting properly with a RETURN statement.
  7. Beautiful package... I can also confirm that the disk version works just fine with the TE2 inserted.
  8. My highschool had a TI59 with printer next to a CBM Pet circa 1980 as well as a minicomputer with 8 terminals (you needed to be enrolled in one of the programming courses to access those). While I did play with the TI59 a bit, not surprisingly I found the PET more accessible and fun The following year my parents bought me a TI 99/4A and the rest is history...
  9. That's the wrong mindset imho in the framework of retrocomputing. Do what is interesting for you and if others like it then it's an added bonus.
  10. Yes, it's extremely slow on the highest level, and I am not aware of a force move feature unfortunately...
  11. There are squigly lines on the board squares with the Extended Basic version, but not when you run the program directly from the EA menu.
  12. I checked and you are right the disk on the site is incorrect. I am attaching the corrected version here. And yes, the program does not label the rows and columns which is a little annoying. The TIFILES version on the Gameshelf site is an archive meaning that all the files of the program are compressed using a program call Archiver by Barry Boone, similar to a zip file. You really don't need it for emulation. Running the program directly from the Editor/Assembler cartridge rather than for Extended Basic makes it a little better visually. SARGON.dsk
  13. I found another bug related to ON ERROR. ON ERROR err_sub INPUT #1:ANS$ ... continue: PRINT "HELLO" END ... err_sub PRINT "ERROR!" RETURN continue <--- this label is not converted to a line number
  14. Still waiting on TiVi! Hint... Hint...
  15. I have to admit that when I first found out about AtariAge, the thought of holding a dedicated TI group under the Atari banner was not very appealing. I held nothing against Atari as it was more of a vague philosophical disquiet, but I kept an open mind and was extremely pleased by the ease of use and organization of the forum as compared to the clunky Yahoo Groups. For a long time I kept a foot in both worlds, but then gradually drifted full-time to AtariAge and stopped frequenting Yahoo altogether. All I have to say to the last few stubborn holdouts is that you are missing out big time on a truly amazing community... A damn shame if you ask me...
  16. OK that worked. Thanks! However, it looks like Flash will not be supported in Chrome past December 2020. Are there such limitations under linux?
  17. Old technology is the whole point here, isn't it? 😄
  18. There is also Sargon I available for the TI which you can find on the tigameshelf.net under the Assembly section.
  19. The only typing I do on the TI is programming related, and TI Writer is not suited for that. I used to work with the Funnelweb editor, but have later switched to the most excellent PrEditor in 80 columns.
  20. This actually gives me an idea: let's create a purchasing group, pool equal share funds and purchase the whole lot then divide it equally amongst all. If the inventory is relatively large and we have say 20 or 30 shareholders, the personal financial outlay could be fairly minimal. Now to find someone to organize it all, and that would likely be a full time job!
  21. Just saw this and I don't know if you figured it out already, but yes, terminal emulators can use the serial port on the NanoPeb just like a regular RS232 card. I have used my TI as a remote serial terminal to my linux box using a pair of wireless to serial adapters and it works great, and of course you can also use a straight serial cable as well. It would work even better if your TI is equipped with the F18A in which case you could use the TIMXT terminal program in 80 columns. With all that said, once the novelty has worn off, this kind of set up is of limited practical use
  22. I don't unfortunately. My desktop PC is at least 7 or 8 years old but still does the job as it was a top of the line Alienware when I bought it, but it's not worth shelling our nearly a couple hundred bucks to upgrade and better save it for a new computer eventually.
