  1. Finally found a complete NES R.O.B. that's in great condition. It wasn't cheap, but it's worth it to me given how near mint it is.

Big congratulations! I remember having a complete, mint, and perfect working R.O.B. set when I was a teenager. I'm still kicking myself for selling it for $10 to a local game store back in 2001 or so. >_< In any case, major congrats on getting yours!

Now I just need to get the parts for Stack Up. Those seem to be hard to come by as a complete set.

  2. Looks like the core set sold out even faster than the bundle did last week.
  3. Those look great. I'd love to add a couple to my collection. None on eBay at the moment though.
  4. I preordered mine yesterday. I've been a Rift owner for some time now and I'm really excited for these consumer HMDs. My fingers are crossed that my new Rift ships next week, then the Vive should follow in May, with the PSVR hitting in Oct. It's going to be a fun year!
  5. 2 years ago, new retail games would be $59.99 - $69.99. Games priced higher were special collectors editions. So no, we weren't paying over $80 after tax and Sony was not charging more than anyone else. The price increase we're currently experiencing has only been a thing for about the past 6 months and it pretty much matches the current exchange rate, meaning we're not paying more and we were even paying less (in US funds) when the dollar was lower. I buy 30 - 50 retail consoles games each year, across all current platforms, so I'm well aware what I've been paying for them. You seem to have a chip on your shoulder regarding Sony. Combine that with your over-exaggerations and you come off as nothing more than a troll.
  6. YAHOO! Looking forward to getting this!
  7. Anyone who thought the PSVR would be cheap wasn't actually following the project at all. Sony mentioned many times that it would be priced similarly to a console. I got my pre-order in this morning and look forward to it arriving later this year. You're being overly dramatic here. They announced the bundle as $499USD and $699CAD. The currency is important here, because in the end you're not paying $200USD more. Given that the standard retail exchange rate is currently about 40%, the prices are par with each other. Whether there's any discrepancy in price is to be seen, as it's not possible to predict what the exchange rate will be come October.
  8. With LibRetro you're still using separate emulators, but you simply don't have to treat them a such. Many of the emulators you already use have cores for LibRetro, so you end up using that core emulation. The only difference is you get you share a common interface and can even share configuration options (which can also be kept separate if desired).
  9. There's little reason anymore to have dozens of individual emulators on your system. RetroArch provides cores which cover a large range of platforms. http://www.libretro.com I'd still suggest separate emulators for Sega Saturn (SSF), Dreamcast (a recent trunk build of NullDC or DEMUL), PlayStation 2 and for classic computers. Also, MAME is still better experienced separately with a full featured front-end.
  10. I'm a huge fan of VR. I owned an Oculus Rift DK2 and have both the consumer Rift and HTC Vive pre-ordered. I'm disappointed that Oculus dropped the ball on their VR controllers though. It's a big gap at the moment, as VR controllers make a huge difference to the overall experience. Just keep in mind that PC based virtual reality requires a pretty powerful system. The system requirements posted by Oculus\HTC are to provide developers with a baseline to develop against, which means that there will be VR experiences where those requirements will be the minimum. Don't invest in the Rift or Vive if you don't meet these requirements, thinking that you'll still squeeze by. You'll be highly disappointed if you do.
  11. I'd love to own one, but it's not worth $2000Cdn to me.
  12. For rechargeable, the AmazonBasics batteries are pretty much the best value for the money. http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-High-Capacity-Rechargeable-Batteries-Pre-charged/dp/B00HZV9WTM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1458105376&sr=8-2&keywords=aa+amazonbasics
  13. WOOHOO!! Can't wait until this is available!
  14. You've pretty much answered your question right there. The system is not fully emulated in MAME at this time.
  15. So wait .. does this actually mean I need to work when I'm at the office, rather than keep refreshing this thread every few minutes?
  16. Interesting. Maybe we just have more ColecoVision fans in the Toronto area
  17. Did the CV Flashback not sell well in the US? In Canada, they were sold exclusively by Bed, Bath and Beyond for $40Cdn. The stores near me sold 500+ of EACH of the available Flashback models, as well as the Sega console and handhelds. I spoke to managers of 3 locations, so that's 1,500 of each model just in my general area. As far as I'm concerned, that's pretty good for a system like that.
  18. I think it's because some people haven't got over the interview he did with Mike and his team for the RetroVGS. While he let Mike get off easy during the interview, I believe it's purely due to his poor interview skills and had nothing to do with trying to make the RetroVGS look good.
  19. I really wish he had listened to you and hopefully he'll make a new video to clear the air after his conversation with Pat.
  20. The problem is that J-F's visibility begins and ends (for the most part) at AtariAge. John is the face of the company externally and even talks about CollectorVision as his company (he specifically calls out that he's co-owner of CollectorVision in his video).
  21. Thanks for posting your experience with Mike and his team. Just wondering why an official statement wasn't released sooner. Remaining fairly quiet on the situation escalated to Gamester81 getting called out by the community and he in turn made things worse with the video he posted. While it's understood that not everything John does is connected to CollectorVision, I feel the video does reflect poorly on your company.
  22. Holy crap! That's gorgeous! I'd love to build one, but I couldn't get myself to gut either of the 2 tabletops I own.
  23. Beat me to it. I knew there was a matching fallacy, but it was taking forever to get through the fallacy wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fallacies
  24. As long as you don't start justifying the project because there are atrocious human rights violations happening around the world, I think you'll be fine.
  25. Gamester81 is a YouTuber. Of course he's going to post a video about it. The review he with with Mike & Co for the RetroVGS has been pulled down. That's the video most people refer to, as he clearly went in to the video without understanding the allegations against the team and he let Mike run the discussion instead of asking the questions everyone wanted to hear. Thankfully Triverse remedied the situation with his own review.
