  1. SuperHot is the most innovative shooter I’ve played in years

      BurritoBeans

I saw the prototype a while ago and loved it, and saw it's on Steam now... I guess I'll have to grab it soon enough. It sure looks like fun.

  2. Not on Kickstarter he can't. https://www.kickstarter.com/rules He could have done that on IndieGoGo with the RetroVGS, but he decided that lying and misleading the community would be a better idea. It was suggested to him MANY times during that campaign that he should shut it down and create a new IndieGoGo campaign, with a significantly smaller goal, focused on getting a prototype created. The backer rewards could have been small things like stickers and such. After the photo was ready, he could come back with a campaign to build the final product. He ignored that advice and got it in his head that he could continue his lies and deceptions while hiding behind the Coleco brand.
  3. He has a bunch of followers on FB who are actually interested in the project and have been asking for an update.
  4. While there's still a good amount of the day left, being completely silent is a really weird choice. It's not surprising people are thinking something's up, especially since someone is still deleting messages on FB.
  5. The pack-in is a roll of electrical tape, allowing you to turn the Coleco Chameleon in to whatever system your heart desires. Want to play Neo Geo games? Tape a AES board in there! Want to play 2600 games? Grab a 2600 Jr board and the included tape, then you're good to go!
  6. It's possible they're waiting for 12pm PST to start the campaign.
  7. Okay .. I'm on lunch at work and just picked up pizza. I'm ready for this Kickstarter to begin!
  8. IndieBox really understands the market and generally delivers in spades. If I collected physical PC games, I'd own all their releases. Here's the thing ... I enjoy buying physical releases of console based Indie games when available. Having physical copies of Shovel Knight and Retro City Rampage is pretty awesome. With that said, I wouldn't buy a new console for the sole purpose of buying physical copies of retro games. That seems silly to me. I'm happy to buy them for systems which have a broader exclusive library, but that's it. The original concept Mike had for the RetroVGS was one which sounded much better on paper than it would have worked in reality. He's not even going that route with the Coleco Chameleon, as all the games they've been talking about so far have (or will have) physical releases on other platforms, making the system even more pointless than before. That's all for me today. I'm off to bed. Looking forward to the festivities tomorrow.
  9. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!! Just played through the first hour or so. Fantastic game! I had high expectations for this one and it met it in spades.
  10. Morpheus - These are prototypes of new medicine I'm bringing to market, to treat colds and fever. You've never seen anything like them before! Neo - The one of the left is NyQuil and the one of the right is a painted Tylenol Morpheus - THEY'RE MY SPECIAL PROTOTYPE BLENDS! Neo - I can see the original product boxes on the ground, behind your chair Morpheus - PROTOTYPES!!!!!!
  11. Goat semen. That stuff's not as easy to acquire as you might immediately think.
  12. Is anyone else keeping an eye on the RetroVGS YouTube account, hoping they accidentally set their Kickstarter video to public early?
  13. If the Kickstarter launches on time, then tomorrow is still "this week" and we'll see all the tiers then. The tiers are all fairly pointless though. I think what the majority of people want to see if the response Mike has regarding the allegations from the Toy Fair. He keeps saying that all will be addressed with the Kickstarter campaign, so tomorrow we'll al have a lot to talk about.
  14. Of course that's a normal thing to do. What isn't normal is for companies to lie about what they're demoing, stating that the hardware is their own when it's not.
  15. Can't believe there's only about 24 hours left until the spectacle that will be the Chameleon Kickstarter. I have a feeling I'm going to be mighty unproductive at work tomorrow.
  16. My plans are the same as for any major new system that comes out. I get it on release and do my best to enjoy the hell out of it, while continuing to play previous systems.
  17. Ya, the individual adapters seem to only be available for a premium on eBay. I got my Premium system from a seller on eBay for $220US, which included EMS shipping. That was about $10 cheaper than Play-Asia wanted to charge with their basic shipping and $30 cheaper for what they wanted for EMS.
  18. I just spent the past couple hours with the system and am really enjoying it. It does have a little lag, compared to playing original consoles through a X-RGB Mini, but it's very minor and you actually adjust to it after a few minutes of playing a game. It's a massive improvement over the Retron 5, which I've found makes certain games completely unplayable. There wasn't a single game I threw at the Retro Freak that I didn't feel comfortable playing. I ended up playing carts for NES, SNES, Genesis, PCE, TG-16, GBC and GBA. Everything I threw at it worked perfectly. I even quite enjoy the controller it comes with. It's not perfect and the d-pad is a little 'clicky' for my taste, but it's what I used to play all the games and it wasn't until I turned the system off that I even thought about using an original controller using the included adapter. I'd actually be very happy to recommend this system to anyone interested in it. It might be a little on the expensive side, but I feel that it's a pretty good value for its performance and its ability to dump your cart collection to a microSD card. I have a feeling this system will be getting a decent amount of use going forward.
  19. Yup! You can tell that their fans on FB are clearly expecting something that the system isn't going to be and Mike isn't doing anything to set their expectations correctly.
  20. The system wasn't what a lot of people expected, although a good portion of that was due to unrealistic expectations. There were also a lot of hardware and software issues out of the gate, which prompted images like the one posted to be made. It's a shame though, as I really do feel like they had something there. It might have helped if users didn't have to re-buy games they already owned on their mobile devices, but that wouldn't have helped Ouya make money.
