  1. Unfortunately I didn’t have a 48k card to try. The 32k card I had didn’t work, which makes sense if it was expecting 48k. And we ran out of time and didn’t try the 32k card again after removing the mod.
  2. We unsoldered the mod and now the 400 works normally. I’m going to take it home and take a couple of better pictures.
  3. Anybody heard of an Atari 400 modification called the Astro M-130 AFA Signal Loopback? I’m helping one of our club members fix a 400. It boots to Memo Pad but nothing else.
  4. Quite intriguing. I always like it when anyone does anything new with retro computers.
  5. AIRC, the board used in the ATR8000 was a "generic" CP/M board that was used in several other non-Atari machines. I wonder if going down that rabbit hole would lead to any additional technical information?
  6. BTW, do you have a way of creating non-Atari 51/4 floppies from images? I’m still trying to find MS-DOS disks for the ATR, but if I do, I don’t have a way to create them.
  7. Interesting, I hadn’t realized that the Co-Power existed long enough for there to be a Co-Power II. Mine is dated 1983, and this one 1984.
  8. Only way you’ll not see it is have your eyes closed.Which actually might be a good idea! I’ll keep watch on your 1088 then.
  9. What does “proper stuff” entail? I’ve got several 5 1/4” and the 8” floppy drives going. But hard drive might be an interesting challenge. That said, my challenge capacity has been rather low lately I do have a couple of old 5.25” hard drives, but since I’ve never tested them, I bet they’re all dead.
  10. I dont have any of the Copower software yet, so today after transplanting, I did some quick testing to make sure the Copower wasnt impeding the normal operation. So far, so good.
  11. I hope to dump the ROMs sometime soon.
  12. Yes. I have had a “regular”64k for a while. Showed it at a couple VCFSEs with an 8” drive and running Dbase II.Fellow club member and all around great guy Kyle found another one rotting away in some guy’s barn or something and thought i might be interested. Opened it up and after brushing aside the bug remains, lo-and-behold, Copower! Now I’m hoping to have that running by this VCFSE.
  13. I was working on my ATR-8000s today at the AHCS meeting, and took a couple of pics of them. Got a couple more if anyone is interested.
  14. I guess I'm missing something. Got the file from post #15, copied it to Applications. Started, a little popup said Wine had to update which disappeared and that was it. Now pretty much nothing happens.
  15. I guess that would be me.And Randy will be there too, but his allegiance is in question. Now if I can get more Atari guys to show up, I can change that to "I guess that would be us." And Chris, we added more web people to the ATLHCS.org site this weekend, hopefully updates will be forthcoming. (Fingers crossed) Brad
  16. If you can't make it to VCFSE, then giving Bill some Atari support would be great too!
  17. Oops, typo. Next AHCS meeting is Sat Feb 20th.
  18. Like Bill said, don't bring anything that you cringe when somebody touches it. These are primarily hands on events, and boy do they get hands on'd. That said the vast majority are very respectful of your stuff and really want to learn something. But there is always that kid who's parents let him wander off who likes to pound the keyboard. You can keep delicate display pieces behind plexiglass. And as far as light fingers goes, I am not aware of anything walking off in our past three shows. And actually very little, if any, abuse damage, most damage happens when the exhibitor lets the magic smoke out. It's actually a lot of fun Chris, come to a club meeting and we can tell you more. Brad
  19. Not too bad last year, I had my beige 8-bit display, Randy Kindig had, as far as we know, the largest Atari 8-bit MIDI Maze game. OK, well, we had three going, but it was fun! Wade was there with a Portfolio display, and we had a combined ANTIC and Inverse Atascii podcast (OK, there were other guys there too). And a couple other guys had an Atari or two as part of larger displays. Randy will be there again this year, and of course me. If anyone wants to have a table and display something (Atari or otherwise) come on down! And that's just the VCFSE show, the Atlanta Historical Computing Society meets every third Saturday of the month from 12-5. We have regular members come from Augusta GA, Auburn AL, Greenville SC. We have a large presence at the Atlanta Maker Faire, and various other events. Brad
  20. Yep, we are still very much alive! Our February meeting is this coming Saturday, the 19th. (Guess I gotta update that AA post too) And yes, our website is in dire need of TLC. Believe it or not that'll be a topic for Saturday's meeting as we prep for the upcoming Vintage Computer Festival Southeast 4.0. Thanks, Brad
  21. Yeah, that's the one I scanned. The scan quality is actually good, the originals are very uneven. I would have sworn it was on AtariMania, I'll have to ask Alan about it.
  22. Jonny,I scanned the docs already (although you might want to check and see if our versions are different), they are up on AtariMania and Atchive.org. I have not been able to get the disks copied, that we would appreciate greatly!
