  1. TPR, sorry to inform you that... It won't! GOD HELP US.
  2. BTW Marat, re possible ADAM improvements, Geoff Oltmans has made numerous enhancements to Marcel's ADAMem v1.0 and the latest SDL release with source code is v1.81. I have v2.0beta, but still testing it after a long hiatus due to coaching baseball.
  3. Brian and J-F haven't announced anything yet re Plan B except that there is that option. Will probably have to wait til after the Kickstarter for any details. Wish I would have won the lotto this past week, I would have funded the entire project!
  4. Re. beta testing Space Shuttle, you might want to consider some help from one of the best gamers that I know around here.... Northcoastgamer. Still mad at him for beating my time for Telegames Skiing in the HSC.
  5. Double whammy here! Pixelboy doesn't own a credit card and doesn't own a car. I think he might be on to something here.
  6. Didn't you say in another thread that you just acquired a minty ADAM that will remain in the box as you continue to use emulation for your ADAM experience? Just asking.
  7. Marat... your hard work and dedication to the emulation scene is very much appreciated. I think it was 1998 when I first stumbled upon ColEm and have followed and used your emulators since then with great joy and amazement. Thank You!
  8. There is a difference between an answer your question that I gave you and a so called "argument" that you took my response as. Seems from some of your recent posts around here that you have very Trollish tendicies. Are you a Troll? What doesn't make sense about Matthew wanting to release his updated F18a board first in order to try to maximize the amount of sales before allowing a system like the Phoenix to include it freely or via a license agreement with CollectorVision? I assume you also feel that all rom images of new Homebrew game releases should be shared immediately at the time of the physical cartridge release? Never mind, I never assume... so I know you feel that way. Hey TPR... here we go again!
  9. A pristine set of manuals might be a tough find especially since they were just placed in a plastic bag... not shrinkwrapped together or individually. Send Adamcon or MilliV a PM to see what they might have.
  10. It is listed as full F18A compatibility built-in. The details of the Phoenix, which are listed, do not include Matthew's updated and yet to be released F18A-MK2. Seeing as Matthew hasn't released his new version of the F18A, I can't imagine that he would allow CollectorVision to include support right off the bat... maybe a firmware update in the future would be possible if permitted.
  11. Oh no you didn't !!! A Phoenix Woody !!! The Kickstarter should hit $1,000,000 now.
  12. Yes, it supports the SGM. Best emulators are for CV are BlueMsx, CoolCV, Adamem and then MAME/MESS.
  13. Already sent off an email detailing the Phoenix and the Kickstarter to Sean Kelly (co-founder of the National VideoGame Museum and CGE) who owns a videogame store just outside of Chicago, but did not hear back from him. Someone should contact Joe Santulli of Digital Press who owns a store in the New Jersey.
  14. See as Opcode has recently hinted at reconsidering his interest in pursuing development of a ColecoVision compatible system (Prometheus Lite) to possibly be released in 2020 or later and focusing all his efforts on the Omni (an all new stand alone system which is not compatible with any existing gane sysyem but sounds cool nonetheless), it might be high time for a lot of fence sitters to more seriously consider backing the Phoenix. I don't see a better option out there.
  15. As you can see from Brian's very detailed evolution of the Phoenix over the past couple years on the Kickstarter page, there has been time to test all the CV games (legacy and homebrew), but to what extent I can not answer. The important thing to consider is at the heart of it, the Phoenix is a new CV compatible system made by hardcore CV fans for CV fans. Knowing the people behind the scenes as I do , I have complete faith in their dedication to making the CV core 100% compatible or as close as possible to that magic number. I also have complete faith that if any compatibility issues do arise, the right people are in place to address them and provide fixes/updates. As far as other cores like the 2600 and MSX, I can not attest to especially with considering the large libraries of warez for those systems, but again I believe 100% in the developers and their dedication to the Phoenix. Whatever transpires with the Kickstarter, I will be purchasing one or more Phoenixes. I hope it's the Kickstarter version, but will be perfectly content with the "Early Access" version. Considering everything you get with the system, we are talking about a $600 value if you place a $50 value on the Sydney Hunter CoD game and roughly $10 each for the included rom images of 10 outstanding CV Homebrews. 2600 comptibility is just the icing on an already delicious cake. Additional cores and expansion modules made available in the future would be the cherries on top. I honestly have not looked at or compared other FPGA systems and honestly do not care to because the Phoenix in it's announced configuration is the "cat's meow" to me!
  16. insertclevenamehere... the goal of including cores that are 100% compatible is a helluva task in and of itself. Everyone hopes for it and the developer strives for it, but the only way to 100% achieve this goal would mean to spend countless years beta testing the cores with every game ever made for that particular system. Maybe before 100s of Homebrews were released for the CV since 1996, it would have been possible to test the 140 or so legacy CV games, but now that is near impossible. Testing fully all the 2600 games ever released could be a decades long endeavor. So I guess what I am trying to say is to strive for the best compatibility, but make the system upgradeable thru firmware updates as the Phoenix will be. Heck, a big company like Coleco had to release a cartridge extended for the Exp. Mod. #1 in order for some of the 2600 games to be compatible. On top of that, look how long it took for some of the best emulators like Stella to work oit all the kinks re compatibility.
  17. Hey, why don't you go back to playing your NES !
  18. Considering that people have associated the CollectorVision Phoenix incorrectly with Coleco Holdings LLC., Kennedy, Cardillo and the Coleco Chameleon, it is BEST to let this Kickstarter run it's coarse. I have a feeling that as the end of the Kickstarter nears, we will be seeing a huge uptick in the "$300 Early Access Level" and the "$65 Sydney Hunter CoD CIB Level".
  19. 2600 games played via SD card/rom images at launch. A Cartridge Adapter is mentioned, but would be released later.
  20. That's awesome that the 2600 core will be included at launch. This is what could get us to 100% funding. Everyone needs to spread the word in the 2600 forum and elsewhere.
  21. True, very true. Aside from all that, the Phoenix is an incredible value considering everthing that we know will be included and there could be further additions that we don't know about yet. To purchase and configure a ColecoVision with everything the Phoenix will contain would cost roughly $425-$450 and that doesn't take into account the 10 tremendous Homebrew games that will be included free and the pack-in game cartridge Sydney Hunter...which is a new game release. It's a no brainer purchase for me, actually will be kicking two systems and possible a 3rd with the early release version to guarantee that I get one no matter what.
  22. The Omni will be it's own system... no compatibility with other game systems. IIRC the Prometheus is Opcode's vision of a ColecoVision compatible game system and last I read, wouldn't be considered for release until 2020 at the earliest so as not to compete with the Phoenix and vice versa. The development of the Omni will be interesting to watch but sadly, not for me Good Luck Opcode, in all your endeavors.
  23. Only time will tell. CollectorVision is focusing on the core system first and hasn't discussed future core updates besides the fact that they want to add 2600, MSX and Adam support.
  24. This is an Opcode Games release. They might be making more available thru AtariAge in the future but are working on numerous other time consuming projects at the moment.
