Actually, writing an ECS game is one of the things I'd like to do as soon as I finish the current iPhone game I'm working on in my free time... hopefully soon!

My Mother bought me an Intellivision for Christmas in 83 so i never had an Atari growing up. Actually that was the only system she ever bought me. I did have a friend with an Atari so i did get to play it a bit as a kid.
...
But now over 2 years later i went from 2 games, to about 200 games for it. And hope my collection keeps on growing. It is slowly becoming my favorite system. I seem to play it more than my Intellivision. Shhh don't tell em that over in the Intellivision forum.

Like the soon-to-be "AtariDude"
I got an Intellivision as a kid but one of my cousins had a 2600 so I could play with him sometimes. I got my first 2600 off ebay (a nice 4 switch woodgrain made in Sunnyvale) soon after joining this forum. I now have three: besides the 4-switch (which I AV modded), a light sixer (both of these are lose but in good condition) and a 4 Switch Sears fully boxed and in mint condition, which is the most treasured item in my hardware collection

Sounds very cool... I'll check it out! Thanks for the suggestion!

Nice, maybe we should start an "INTV movie sightings" thread!
I remember in "Grandma's Boy" (a really....ehm....
"particular" sort of movie shot in 2006: it's a Happy Madison production but, still, it went well beyond my expectations!
) the main character is a playtester in a gaming company: his desk is full of Inty games and the scene where he defeats another guy in a match of Frog Bog is memorable (but if you catch the movie with someone and they say you are a pervert, it's not my fault, ok? I DIDN"T recommend you to watch the whole uncut version!!)-

Rev, that's a great website! Thanks for the link!
Akito, I guess asking permission directly to Keith is the best solution. If he doesn't reply, usually the "silence is assent" rule holds (that's what I was told by a lawyer years ago in similar situations).
Cheers!

Nope, there's someone: I got my AA Secret Santa gift from Mexico!! Maybe they just didn't see this thread yet...
For the rest... think of Mariachi!!

I'll use this as wallpaper on my PC!

Ok, here is my current office desk with the new inspiring wallpaper, courtesy of CMart, on both monitors

(The Pitfall and Safecracker carts are actually dead ones I use to showcase to my students when I talk about the Inty and game dev in the early 80s in class...)
Now, if only my shelf at home would look like CMart's...

Great! I guess it will take me many more years and lots of luck to have a (CIB?) complete collection, but I'll try

BTW, I'm planning of using your collection in my teaching slides when discussing about our natural "collecting" instinct and how pervasive it is not only in game design but also throughout our lives, may I?
Cheers!

I have 2 from that list...
and always remember going in a little gameshop in Milan just to see the guy entered before me asking for intellivision games and buy a CIB tuthankam for 6$ !!!! and teh girl in the shop was happy to give away the game!
And, most likely, none of them today is aware of how much that game is worth now!
Going back on topic, that's really a good list and last year, in fact, I did quite an effort to get a few of those titles: Fathom, Super Cobra and Tut (CIB) plus a lose Congo (with a shining repro box, though
) but I doubt I can get any other on the Top 15 list anytime soon since prices are really too high on ebay (BTW, my Diner is lose too). -
By the way, there will be a new DK-related title released this year, I hope as early as March.
DK Country for the Inty??

Great video and amazing package/box! Cmart is clearly the best place for Inty stuff worldwide!

Looks like you started studying French!

Added my small contribution and support! Really looking forward to reading this this summer!

Since I recently got the ECS, I'd like to start getting its dedicated games. Other objectives I have in my list are finishing the CIB Activision titles (I just need a Worm Whomper box, without considering the prototypes, of course) and get more Imagic games (Dracula, Truckin, White Water...).
Enough to keep me busy, I guess!

Wow! I'm speechless...

I wasn't aware of this project: what's been done so far is amazing! I'm sure, when it will be completed, the result'd be way better than Nukem Forever!

I wonder what he will do if these auctions ends cheaply: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 130621921315
and eBay Auction -- Item Number: 130621922362
He is selling a Stadium Mud Buggies and a NIB Melody Blaster and, less than 4h before the ending, price is still extremely low (MB is... $2.25 only!). Clearly it will rise but I doubt he will get what he expects.
I was actually tempted to bid but don't want to be quoted a $200 shipping charges to Singapore!

I assume the OP is asking about a "captcha" question used for registration at Intellivision.us.
That's a question worth being included in the next exam paper for my Game History class!

Just orderd

Let me know your impressions once you read it!

Roberto,
I get the same kind of distortion with some cartridges sometimes. I will prescribe the typical solution: Blow on the contacts (or clean them with an alcohol-dipped q-tip), re-insert the device, and play with the insertion depth until you get it *just right*. Hitting "Reset" a few times also in between, for good measure.
Note that you may need to do this on all junctions: the Master Component to the ECS, and the ECS to the cartridge.

Thanks for the reply. I did try to clean everything first before using it but I see there was still some dirt and now the image is somewhat better. I guess I'll need to keep cleaning and cleaning the contacts!
Actually, I noticed the contacts in the slots and carts alike gets dirty very fast and need constant cleaning... is this mostly due to the humid weather we have here (though I put dehumidifiers everywhere!) or is this a common issue for everyone?
cheers!

Hello guys,
This Christmas I finally opened my NIB ECS and I'm playing around with it to see if I'd be able to do some simple homebrew game with it in the future: the first impression I had was that, while the Basic language is, well, quite basic, the possibility of grabbing existing games' graphics is really cool and, in a way, the ECS feels like an actual gaming console SDK!
Anyway, not everything is going smoothly. While my Inty is working properly and image quality is good, once I connect the ECS to it and switch it on (btw, thanks for pointing out there should be a cart in: it's written only in the Errata leaflet included with the manual and it's easy to miss it!), the image quality gets seriously disrupted, fuzzy and with static vertical bars all across the screen... Anyone experienced anything similar?
Happy holidays!

how many people have ECS here and would like a new game for it?

Unfortunately I don't: I just got an ECS recently and I'm very curious to experiment with it...
