  1. Hello all, I finally decided to AV mod my 4 switch 2600 which is showing some RF issues I couldn't fix otherwise. I got a AV board and I'm ready to do the soldering but I am a bit concerned about drilling holes into the plastic case for the AV jacks since I know it may break if I use the wrong drilling bits. Many guides don't seem to give specific instructions on this and simply suggest for a standard (for drilling metal surfaces?) 1/4'' bit while I found a few references suggesting Forstner bits (for drilling wood?) instead. Unfortunately, though, it doesn't seem easy to find the 1/4 forstner bit around here so I was wondering if it is actually worth the trouble to order one off ebay. What are your experiences on this? How fragile is the 2600 plastic case? Do you think drilling a first small pilot hole (with a 1/8 bit) followed by the 1/4 hole with a new bit will make for a safer drilling? What sort of precautions can I take to minimize the probability of the case to break apart? Or am I just worrying too much and I'd simply proceed in drilling those holes?? Thanks a lot for your suggestions! Roberto
  2. A nice lot for those new to the joys of Inty collecting including the ECS and some nice boxed games (including Mr.Basic, Kool Aid Man and... Turbo!): eBay Auction -- Item Number: 330644869131 BTW, I was thinking to start looking for an ECS module too: how much do you think it's a reasonable price for a boxed one in good condition?
  3. Yep, I guessed it'd would have been difficult to maintain anonymity with a parcel coming from Singapore ! Actually, I'm surprised it arrived so fast (a Swiss colleague told me Customs over there are getting more and more strict and I was afraid it could have been delayed, that's why I shipped it so early). Anyway, hope you enjoy the 2600 game and the DVD. the cart was originally from Australia while I picked the latter at the Tokyo Game Show: while I don't think it has any collectible value, it surely isn't something you find easily around there! Merry Christmas!!
  4. That's really a very good list and still there are so many other great games that had to be left out... I guess the Inty was one of the systems that had the highest average quality across all titles in its catalog!
  5. Ah! So you are now in Oakland! last time I checked it looked like you were going to rent a good place in central San Francisco... what happened? By the way, I was trying to follow you on twitter but I noticed someone blocked my account (#rdillon73) from following you like if I were a spammer!? I really wonder why and, honestly, I'm a bit upset, considering also all the money I donated at your booth during GDC in San Francisco this year!
  6. I bought a few items from Hong Kong and had no problems so far, either from ebay or from Play Asia ( http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-gip4-71-170-49-en-84-k.html link pointing to the DS page). Ok, I live in Asia too, but I don't think this would really make any difference as it's still a 4 hours flight between here and there! Good luck!
  7. Marauder cart is gone, Ram It and River Raid still available! You can also PM me your best offer...
  8. Package sent! And not even a virtual pet was harmed in the process (hopefully!)
  9. A couple of auction ending soon: A boxed Inty II still at an affordable price (I guess) eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280767547168 And a nice lot of rare games: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 250925531987 cheers!
  10. More recently I remember reading Nintendo forced a dentist in Sweden to change its clinic's name from "Wii" to something else.http://kotaku.com/5238434/nintendo-forces-swedish-dental-surgery-to-change-name Anyway, regarding the "Scrolls" thing, I didn't like the lawsuit either but I will be buying Skyrim (with or without scrolls ) on day 1!
  11. A great lot for Imagic fans! eBay Auction -- Item Number: 250919863508
  12. Ok, DD is still missing in my Inty collection: I guess I need to get it and try it out In the meantime, is there any record for Deadly Dogs?? maybe I can try that first!
  13. Those from Singapore are the rarest! Just kidding, of course, I never heard of the cart manufacturing location affecting the rarity of the item, but if someone wants to trade a Hong Kong made Spiker for a USA made Poker & Black Jack, I'm open to it
  14. Video Giochi era una rivista fantastica: avevo quasi tutti i numeri fino al 38, prima di passare a Zzap! e prima che mia mamma decidesse a mia insaputa di fare un po' d'ordine in camera mia ai tempi dell'Amiga... Il numero 37 con Law of the West in copertina me lo ricordo come fosse ieri!
  16. Loved your story and video and how everything is neatly organized! Like vprette said, your childhood memories sound like a dream to us, though some of my friends had an Intellivision (and we spent days playing each other's games so I have plenty of beautiful memories playing Swords and Serpents, Utopia and Tropical Trouble with them) none had an Atari or a Coleco in my neighborhood so choices weren't very broad. After the 83/84 crash with no more Inty, Atari and Coleco coming from the States, all gaming simply switched to home computers like the C64 and the ZX Spectrum.
  17. I'm getting a 404 error on this. I think he was referring to this page: https://www.atari2600.com/item--Direct-Connect-Coax-Adapter--PROD6238.html Have fun!!
  18. A CIB Thunder Castle, from UK: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 260874303857
  19. I loved Fathom and how it mixed gameplay across air and sea. Safecracker was also one of my all time favorites, together with Swords & Serpents (if played along with a friend). i still have to try Truckin'...
  20. But the darker shade of red is missing! Great shot!
  21. Hi, as far as I know, the most complete book in terms of games is Bill Kurtz's "The Encyclopedia of Arcade Video Games" ( http://www.amazon.com/Encyclopedia-Arcade-Video-Schiffer-Collectors/dp/0764319256 ). Alternatively, you can check Van Burnam's Supercade or John sellers' "Arcade Fever".
