Ok, DD is still missing in my Inty collection: I guess I need to get it and try it out

In the meantime, is there any record for Deadly Dogs?? maybe I can try that first!

Am I better off keeping the US carts over the Hong Kong ones?
Those from Singapore are the rarest!

Just kidding, of course, I never heard of the cart manufacturing location affecting the rarity of the item, but if someone wants to trade a Hong Kong made Spiker for a USA made Poker & Black Jack, I'm open to it

Il numero 37 con Law of the West in copertina me lo ricordo come fosse ieri!

I went ahead and did a collection video for all the guys who are involved with Youtube
Please excuse the voice, my nose is running like crazy I have been sick for the last week
Loved your story and video and how everything is neatly organized!
Like vprette said, your childhood memories sound like a dream to us, though some of my friends had an Intellivision (and we spent days playing each other's games so I have plenty of beautiful memories playing Swords and Serpents, Utopia and Tropical Trouble with them) none had an Atari or a Coleco in my neighborhood so choices weren't very broad.
After the 83/84 crash with no more Inty, Atari and Coleco coming from the States, all gaming simply switched to home computers like the C64 and the ZX Spectrum.

I loved Fathom and how it mixed gameplay across air and sea. Safecracker was also one of my all time favorites, together with Swords & Serpents (if played along with a friend). i still have to try Truckin'...

But the darker shade of red is missing!

Are there any book that list all of the arcade games from the the 1970's through the mid to late 80's? It seems that the books I have heard of only cover the more well known games and not lesser known ones. I'm looking for only games that were in the arcades. It would be nice if this book exists and that it even covers tips on how to play the game.
Hi, as far as I know, the most complete book in terms of games is Bill Kurtz's "The Encyclopedia of Arcade Video Games" ( http://www.amazon.com/Encyclopedia-Arcade-Video-Schiffer-Collectors/dp/0764319256 ). Alternatively, you can check Van Burnam's Supercade or John sellers' "Arcade Fever".

You should have entered "house cleaning mode" in March during GDC
: if I was around I'd have definitely come over to pick up a few things! Good luck with your sale! -
Although I own it, I haven't read your book yet, Roberto. Right now I'm reading Harold Goldberg's "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" and unfortunately finding too many errors to make the book enjoyable.
Mr. Herman, I'd definitely love to hear your feedback and criticisms on my book once you have to time to read it!
All best!

A presto!
Roberto

So many authors around here, and all suggested books are indeed really valuable and should be present on the shelf of any classic gaming lover!
IMHO, other books that shouldn't be missed are Tristan Donovan's "Replay" (which got lots of praises on the specialized press, and rightly so) and "High Score!" by Rusel deMaria and Johnny Wilson.
Hopefully, also my own work "The Golden Age of Video Games" , published earlier this year and which we are currently using in the game history classes at DigiPen with very good feedback from students so far, will be able to find some space in an already crowded shelf

Zai jian!

Gli Italiani all'estero contano?

This link may be useful: http://www.atariguide.com/help/care.htm in particular, check out the 2600 Service Manual.
Good luck!

If members living on the other side of the planet are allowed, please count me in!
I missed it last year and don't want to miss it this time around! Besides, I won't have chances to go back to my homecountry this year so this will definitely cheer up my holidays!

I think "game centers" may also be responsible: these small shelves with cartridge sized slots were quite common with 2600 players and they likely encouraged people to store just the carts while forgetting about the boxes. On the other hand, overlays surely forced Intellivision users to keep the whole thing to avoid misplacing them.
cheers!

Only $2999 for 6 CIB Intellivision games: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 130578922682
Too bad he doesn't offer international shipping!

I guess he believes the complete set values much more than the sum of the individual items...

What the HELL happened here???
:-o
:-o Am I missing something or did a $20 game just go for $141.50?!?!??!
:?
:?Looks like the Masters of the Universe can fetch some galactic prices at times! I guess some old fans may really want it and have no patience to wait a bit and look around for alternatives...
