  1. You should have entered "house cleaning mode" in March during GDC : if I was around I'd have definitely come over to pick up a few things! Good luck with your sale!
  2. Mr. Herman, I'd definitely love to hear your feedback and criticisms on my book once you have to time to read it! All best!
A presto! Roberto
  4. So many authors around here, and all suggested books are indeed really valuable and should be present on the shelf of any classic gaming lover! IMHO, other books that shouldn't be missed are Tristan Donovan's "Replay" (which got lots of praises on the specialized press, and rightly so) and "High Score!" by Rusel deMaria and Johnny Wilson. Hopefully, also my own work "The Golden Age of Video Games" , published earlier this year and which we are currently using in the game history classes at DigiPen with very good feedback from students so far, will be able to find some space in an already crowded shelf
Zai jian!
  7. Gli Italiani all'estero contano? Cosi' faccio il quarto gatto!
  8. This link may be useful: http://www.atariguide.com/help/care.htm in particular, check out the 2600 Service Manual. Good luck!
  9. If members living on the other side of the planet are allowed, please count me in! I missed it last year and don't want to miss it this time around! Besides, I won't have chances to go back to my homecountry this year so this will definitely cheer up my holidays!
  10. I think "game centers" may also be responsible: these small shelves with cartridge sized slots were quite common with 2600 players and they likely encouraged people to store just the carts while forgetting about the boxes. On the other hand, overlays surely forced Intellivision users to keep the whole thing to avoid misplacing them. cheers!
  11. The soccer one is gorgeous! Too bad they don't have my size anymore
  12. Fathom, at last!!

  13. Too bad he doesn't offer international shipping! I guess he believes the complete set values much more than the sum of the individual items...
  14. Looks like the Masters of the Universe can fetch some galactic prices at times! I guess some old fans may really want it and have no patience to wait a bit and look around for alternatives...
  15. I got it!! I got it!!! At last!!! What am I talking about?? But a CIB Fathom, of course!! After more than one year looking around, I managed to get one... it was the most expensive single game I ever bought so far (or, I should say, re-bought as I had it over 25 years ago!) and I definitely extinguished my budged for the remaining part of the year, but I'm really happy! Cheers!!!

  17. Just got a 2600 light sixers from Nate. Great guy! Would definitely do business again with him.
  18. He used the same pictures. I also won Worm Whomper for $80, which also ended 2 weeks ago for $130. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 110718142596 eBay Auction -- Item Number: 110722019557 Ah! So you are the one who outbid me on WW! Good deal for $80 I still need a boxed WW to complete the set of official Activision releases for the Inty... Unfortunately I had too many expenses this month and couldn't push it up as much as it deserved PS. I also noticed the pic was the same as the one used in the previous auction
  19. I'd say you don't care about sealed games and I smell a trade in our future! i also have a sealed poker. maybe you are bluffing... Anyway, there's a new sealed Super Cobra for auction now: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 110728828189

    2600 help

Hi, If cleaning all carts/connector contacts doesn't fix the issue, I suggest you download and study the original service manual: Atari 2600 Service Manual I'm having issues with my Atari too and this has definitely been helpful for identifying the possible causes. I didn't fix the problem yet but, at least, I'm learning a lot! Good luck!
  23. true, and I also leave some in fact but, at times, I don't like see too many rebates and super sales sticker on a box saying $1.99 when I now bought it for $100 or so Makes me wonder what I was doing back in the day and how could I miss so many bargains!
  24. I was just looking for hints on removing old price stickers and found this old but very useful topic so I decided to bump it up to make it more readily available to new members who may have the same issue. Thanks guys!
