  1. ... and so my week of work (well, sort of: I attended the game developers conference ) in San Francisco is over. Tomorrow morning I'm flying back to warm Singapore BUT, while I had no luck in the couple of thrift stores I checked out, I had time to win a couple of CIB cartridges from ebay and have them shipped to my hotel. I got two of my old Imagic favorites: Safecracker and Swords & Serpents! Now also the Imagic section of my collection is starting to shape up and you can easily imagine what I will play as soon as I recover from the jetlag! Cheers! Roberto PS. At GDC I found out that a few brave guys are setting up a gaming museum in SF. They were there looking to raise the last few thousand dollars to make the project happen (The MADE) and, showcased in a prominent place within their small booth, they had an Inty running AD&D! Obviously my heart melted and I helped the cause by becaming a "Level 1 Donor"
  2. well, it's obviously a bit "over the top" though it depicts some game mechanics pretty well but the game is quite funny and challenging. I like it
  3. So expensive! I really doubt anyone would buy it at that price... (I won't!)
  4. My ET CIB cartridge was actually the first cart I bought once I decided to get into 2600 collecting... Why? Well, this game certainly has its own unique "charm" and undoubtedly meant a lot for the industry!
  5. I'd said David too mostly for Pitfall which, though I don't really consider it a platformer, I do see it as Super Mario's Father
  6. Diner now starting at $70 only! eBay Auction -- Item Number: 120683007612
  7. I missed it!! How come it didn't show up in my searches?? Anyway I guess I'd have just helped in pushing the price up a little but not won it in the end anyway...
  8. A few days ago we had a housewarming party and I could finally show my game room (i.e. my "studio", officially speaking ) with my Inty and Atari consoles and games and the reactions ranged between indifference (for those who had no idea of what this stuff is about) to surprise and excitement: a few jaws dropped and we started playing some classics. We really had a great time and I think I may have passed the "collecting bug" to some colleagues too
  9. The blue version is a later reprint right? Is it considered rarer than the silver? I just bought S&S (silver) off ebay, btw...
  10. I see... Thanks. Anyway I'm still in need of quite a few commons too
  11. Hi, I will be visiting San Francisco in 4 weeks and I was wondering if anyone knows of classic games shops or good thrift stores in town where I'd be more likely to find Inty games... Any ideas? Actually, besides some games, I'm also looking for River Raid and Worm Whomper boxes (just the box), which I'd buy or trade with a few other games from my collection. If there's someone around the Bay who would like to meet up and maybe swap some Inty related items (my collection is still quite limited but feel free to PM me to see what's available), let me know! Cheers!
  12. They confirmed the Atari movie is coming out hopefully soon!! I was really afraid the project was completely forgotten by now!
  13. let's pick some classics from completely different genres.... Pitfall! Enduro Space Invaders Battlezone Adventure
  14. Hi, If someone has a spare box for the Intellivision version of River Raid and Worm Whomper please let me know: I can buy or eventually trade. Best! Roberto
  15. I'm not that interested/excited about the NGP: more power and better games but too bulky and not a groundbreaking/disruptive device IMHO. The idea of experiencing 3D without glasses and taking 3D pictures instead adds something new to the whole gaming experience... if I can afford it, I'll definitely get one
  16. Thanks for your first hand report! Wish I were there too...
  17. Just the other day I had some friends at home and we decided to fire up my 4-switch and play some two player games of Space Invaders. We really had a blast: none of us remembered how engaging and fun such experience was, especially on the real hardware! P.S. My Wii is actually getting dusty now...
  18. Among all Atari systems and computers, I'd vote for the 800XL or the ST (I loved the MIDI ports!). Between the 2600 versions, I have to say I find the Sears H6 quite attracting
  19. needs to get a coffee before class or will fall asleep!

  20. I predict $150-$160 i just looked on ebay for completed dig dug. i think its 179 or close to that. Wow! I guess for $179 I'd sell mine right away! (I got a good CIB one recently at less than $100 )
