  1. I'm not that interested/excited about the NGP: more power and better games but too bulky and not a groundbreaking/disruptive device IMHO. The idea of experiencing 3D without glasses and taking 3D pictures instead adds something new to the whole gaming experience... if I can afford it, I'll definitely get one ;)

  2. My son and his friends played Space Invaders for a good 15 minutes, then several rounds of H.E.R.O and Spiderman, and of course some Cave In too.

Just the other day I had some friends at home and we decided to fire up my 4-switch and play some two player games of Space Invaders. We really had a blast: none of us remembered how engaging and fun such experience was, especially on the real hardware!

    P.S.

My Wii is actually getting dusty now... :D

  3. This guy won't ship to Canada, says it's too heavy...icon_rolleyes.gif I did say I'd pay whatever shipping was....icon_mad.gif ...somebody bid on this lot, it includes 40 games including CONGO BONGO with BOX

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 3803044288521?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=380304428852&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

I don't understand such sellers... whatever the auction ends up to, its price is obviously driven by Congo Bongo. If he split the auction in different lots with Congo Bongo on its own, he'd definitely make much more money, especially if he'd be open to sell worldwide.

BTW, if he thinks that shipping to Canada is too expensive, I'll ask him to ship to Singapore: he'll get a heart attack! :P

  4.

but like that you could just label "atari 2600" anything that has some kind of woodgrain!

    here you go...

Hey, wait a minute, that's a Sears Video Arcade woodgrain! Cool!! :D

  5. I posted a similar thread a few weeks ago since I wanted to order this.

The onceuponatari.com website seems to be dead: the contact page doesn't load and the checkout page crashed while ordering. The videos used to be on IGN but it seems that now only a couple of 4 minutes fragments are still online.

In the end, I had to get a copy through a seller on Amazon marketplace but they didn't ship to Singapore so I had it ship to my address in Italy... Hopefully I'll get it by the end of 2011 :(

  6. I draw the line at 100 bucks per Item or auction, or my wife does :)

Ah! Brothers!! We're all on the same boat! :D

Anyway, even though cmart previously warned on this CIB Fathom eBay Auction -- Item Number: 3206363721001?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=320636372100&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER] (there was no real picture of the item), when the seller reduced the starting bid price to $65 i couldn't restrain myself and had to bid... I won the auction at the starting price but just a few hours before the end, the seller wrote me that someone stole the game from her car!!! Why would someone bring a 30 year old game on a trip just a few hours before being sold on ebay, and why someone would steal it is beyond me (unless our collecting trade has become so popular that any thief around knows the value of such collectibles...)

I'd actually have preferred the classic "sorry, sir, the dog ate my homework" kind of excuse :P

In the end, my quest for a boxed Fathom (at a good price) continues...

  7. It's like Danny Devito in Throw Momma from the Train showing his coin collection.

Here's a nickel, and a quarter, and another quarter... :D

    AX

U are sooo mean ;) actually his boxes are quite nice!

BTW, just today I was watching Keith Robinson in a interview on youtube where he said the Inty was able to survive longer than other systems because it had (and still has!) a very loyal fan base. Indeed, I think we were the first group of "hard core" gamers who were not afraid of trying out a "strange" controller with many buttons in change of a technologically more advanced experience.

Once an Inty fan, always an Inty fan (whether we are 8 year old or 80  )

    PS. I'm 37 too ;)
