Yeah, Exactly...
-
Yeah, that's an enjoyable read and objective review/comparison, though I'm sure some old Coleco fanboys would beg to differ...
-
Wow! I wonder how it got to Italy! The seller says the Jap version has components of a better quality than the standard US or European versions which will make it last longer... anyone knows whether this is true or he is simply trying to find a justification to mark up the price?
-
I wonder when he will sell his lot at $2,000... Anyway, a CIB Dig Dug in good condition that was previously listed as BIN at $199 has now come down to $189.95... eBay Auction -- Item Number: 140495073433
-
Wrote my first post anyway, I don't have time to check and be active on too many forums at the same time so I'm afraid I'll spend most of my time here
-
noob bidder awed by the really nice packaging. woah... It's really painful to see such as auction: it looks like a garbage bin. Poor Inty
-
Thanks for the advice: I'll look somewhere else too (and go back to practice my soldering techniques... )
-
I don't understand such sellers... whatever the auction ends up to, its price is obviously driven by Congo Bongo. If he split the auction in different lots with Congo Bongo on its own, he'd definitely make much more money, especially if he'd be open to sell worldwide. BTW, if he thinks that shipping to Canada is too expensive, I'll ask him to ship to Singapore: he'll get a heart attack!

Hey, wait a minute, that's a Sears Video Arcade woodgrain! Cool!!
-
I resemble that remark. Yeah, I noticed your avatar as soon as I joined this forum

I posted a similar thread a few weeks ago since I wanted to order this. The onceuponatari.com website seems to be dead: the contact page doesn't load and the checkout page crashed while ordering. The videos used to be on IGN but it seems that now only a couple of 4 minutes fragments are still online. In the end, I had to get a copy through a seller on Amazon marketplace but they didn't ship to Singapore so I had it ship to my address in Italy... Hopefully I'll get it by the end of 2011

Hey, this is a solderless mod! Very interesting! Where can I get the kit? Thanks!

Without doubt, Mystique's "Beat em and eat em"... or how to make a game mechanic that was wonderfully rendered in Kaboom into something absolutely disgusting.

Lovely!

Ah! Brothers!! We're all on the same boat! Anyway, even though cmart previously warned on this CIB Fathom eBay Auction -- Item Number: 320636372100 (there was no real picture of the item), when the seller reduced the starting bid price to $65 i couldn't restrain myself and had to bid... I won the auction at the starting price but just a few hours before the end, the seller wrote me that someone stole the game from her car!!! Why would someone bring a 30 year old game on a trip just a few hours before being sold on ebay, and why someone would steal it is beyond me (unless our collecting trade has become so popular that any thief around knows the value of such collectibles...) I'd actually have preferred the classic "sorry, sir, the dog ate my homework" kind of excuse In the end, my quest for a boxed Fathom (at a good price) continues...

California Games!

U are sooo mean actually his boxes are quite nice! BTW, just today I was watching Keith Robinson in a interview on youtube where he said the Inty was able to survive longer than other systems because it had (and still has!) a very loyal fan base. Indeed, I think we were the first group of "hard core" gamers who were not afraid of trying out a "strange" controller with many buttons in change of a technologically more advanced experience. Once an Inty fan, always an Inty fan (whether we are 8 year old or 80 ) PS. I'm 37 too
-
Definitely. We will all be still here on this very forum at 80+ year old chasing for the last shrinkwrapped ( ) Dig Dug on ebay, maybe the world!

The Caanoo is a great device for us retro-lovers! I have a Wiz (the model that preceded the Caanoo) and it actually got much more playtime than my DS and PSP combined!
-
Well, Pitfall (both I and II) are an obvious choice but, beside them, I'd say H.E.R.O.

Show off your Intellivision collection 2011 edition

WOW! BTW, I saw you have two Activision games I never heard about: "League of Light" and "Robot Rubble"... were these actually commercialized (where? when?) or are prototypes? I'm quite curious... -
yeah, it was/is one of my favorites too. Actually, at the time, I never saw the Data East arcade and thought it was an original Inty game. Only recently I discovered the original and started appreciating it even more as it is a very good conversion!

I'm very happy to see there's some small italian company doing good efforts for such documentaries. We need more people like them to bring more attention to the game industry, past and present, and grow up in this field! Looking forward to it!
-
Interesting, what's the story about this version? Was it something released only in the PAL region? BTW, the seller says he's willing to consider BIN offers, so the auction may end unexpectedly... Cheers!
