  1. As I learned some years ago when Mark Wills and I were tracking down bugs in his excellent TURBOFORTH package, fixing a program to run in Classic99 is no guarantee that it will work in ANY TI real gear configuration. MAME (MESS) is a far more accurate representation of TI hardware but Classic99 is much easier to configure and use. Mark used Classic99 for his development work and since he didn't have a working TI system at the time, used MAME (MESS) to test along with having me test TURBOFORTH on my real-gear system.
  2. Maybe where Phillip keeps his pigs.
  3. A little discrete editing with a sector editor will allow TELCO to load from any drive. Mine loads and runs from DSK7 (a RAMdisk).
  4. That is likely debris from the felt pad in the cartridge port in the console. It is lubricated.
  5. I have my HRD16 at >1600 and Horizon 2000 at >1700 ( the BWG is at >1100).
  6. I don't know of anywhere such a list exists. There might be a manufacturer list but the individual chips' ID numbers are almost constantly updated and changed as the chips are introduced and marketed.
  7. FYI, The HRD16 has a jumper that, when pulled, will temporarily disable the battery backup and thereby summarily delete everything on the HRD16 - including ROS.
  8. The file appears to be archived with a TIFILES header. You can process the file with TIDir which will allow you to remove the TIFILES header and examine and transfer the files from within the archive. The file is NOT a .bin file.
  9. Considering the source - MSN - that may be fake.
  10. FYI, I ALWAYS type in the filename. I don't necessarily trust that the default on the screen will match the one on the disk. Also, I'm prone to rename files on disk from time to time.
  11. The Lotharek drive might very well be the problem. I have a BWG in my system and there are no problems using it to load CFG1/2 and ROS842C. I am loading ROS from a real floppy drive and CFG1/2 from the HRD16.
  12. I have had no problems using CFG1/2 and the new ROS842C on my HRD16. You must not "mix and match" CFG and ROS files. There is now only one ROS file instead of variants for the Myarc and TICC controllers. Unless you have a bad download, CFG1/2 should load ROS842C flawlessly. Send me a PM.
  13. That "appears" to have done the trick! I can (at least for now) access WHT again. Pass it on to Don, please.
  14. Eric Bray may have found the problem: ‎Eric Bray‎ to TI 99ers 42 mins · https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjWNjAZpt3oLgY9YwBnIb6UH_EmJhQ?e=9T5GgG When I tested the download link of the FTP WHTECH site, I came across the fact that the links to the complete collection of Barry Traver's Diskazine, "The Genial Traverler", were in files suffixed with ".exe" and that most modern (2020) browsers will not allow their users to download and run files with that suffix. So, I zipped my collection of "The Genial Traverler" diskazines and placed them on the above 'cloud' site. The unzipped disks are in V9T9 (Win994a) format and you may have to run Fred Kaal's program, "TiDir", to convert them into TIFILES format.
