What is your most rare colecovision game
ColecoDan replied to atari5200dude82's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Wow NIAD I am very jealous, any chance of getting pictures of the Bit Corp or are they at least going to be in the new colecovision web site? I have a near complete CIB collection as well but now I know not close to as good as NIAD I have Eduardo prototype 1/5 Comic Bakery, Super Sketch CIB, Skiing, Amazing Bumpman I have a digital press ms space fury as well but no signature on the back with number release. Does that mean it is a fake or did Digital Press release extras without that? I have a Maze Maniac cart as well which I hear they didn't make many of those. -
I have no idea what coleco was thinking but I think if the screens switched back and forth between the two it would make the game feel more real.

Donkey Kong and DK Junior Custom Controllers
ColecoDan replied to Yurkie's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Those look pretty cool. I wasn't around when those were for sale but I gotta say I definitely love my smurf controller better since it has the straight cord and ball knob control. -
pm'd Yurkie right away to steal one of these beauties.

It does look suspicious but you have to remember anyone who would pay that much for the game is also most likely a newbie so could be a newbie going to ebay as well to buy his colecovision stuff. I know I have put an outrageous $$ on some bids just because I knew nobody would actually bid that high and did not want to try a back and forth bidding war. However I always buy it at the end of the auction too so that there isn't a bidding war. A newbie wouldn't know to do that though. I still can't believe it went to $700. I do love the game but you could buy a colecovision SD for what 120 - 150 and not only get mario brothers but get mr chin as well. Of course as I am saying this I am also one of the crazies that tried to buy opcode's prototypes that went for crazy money.

How come he has all these games I don't care about. Where are your cases of Bit Corp games that's what I want to know?
-
I like this game as well. I do not remember what my high score is but I can tell you I really dislike bears now. I also suck at the bonus round. I usually jump over 1 or 2 and then screw up.

First it was Utopia, then Ozma Wars, then Super Tank, and now Cavern Rescue. I think it's time for you to read this, Max. So are you done with Utopia yet? That's a pretty cool linked article, I never read that before. It's how I feel at work when someone emails me, "this doesn't work" and then gives me no idea of what happened, what screen and what if any error they received. On the front of Utopia I actually still need to play Fortune Builder I bought it a while ago and still have not played it. Considering people say it is like civilization I need to give it a try and see how it is. Anyway, I am amazed at how many projects you and the other homebrewers are creating these days. It is just amazing at not only the number but pretty much the better production than the games coleco was putting out back in the day. I know when I get home from work or from going out that I don't feel like doing anything let alone the hard work necessary for programming games. It truely is great that you guys spend all this extra time making these great games.

It's worth every penny I play that game a lot and absolutely love it.

A Brand NEW ColecoVision Homebrew Release!
ColecoDan replied to retroillucid's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
FYI Just a little heads up that your collectorvision site still shows Puzzli as an upcoming game with no release date or info on it instead of in the our games section with the info filled out. Just thought you might want to know in case people have your site bookmarked and don't necessarily pay attention to these release topics in this forum. -
In case nobody knew, collectorvision does have a Turbo box that he made. He made a Spectar box too but I do not know how many of you have that game. I bought both boxes, however I have not received them yet to comment on them but all his other boxes have been great so I am sure these are as well. It does cost a lot though if you are going to compare getting a cheap UGC and putting a cutout of a scan on it. He said he was going to eventually do a Slither as well but that one was not done yet. As for the UGCs if someone made them with the cutout scans and they looked cool then I am sure I would buy them but if they didn't look cool then I would just leave my carts in my cart holders that I bought in the 80's. It would definitely be cool to take some of the hideous Telegames claim shells off and use a UGC with a cool insert. Skiing and Bumpman would be nice to have boxes for as well since they are so valuable it would be nice if they had a neat home to reside in. Otherwise I have almost a complete set of CIB so the other games I have already have a home

Can you also put down players that do not score high enough to your standards and make them feel bad? Cause if you do that then I think you can win the election.

A Brand NEW ColecoVision Homebrew Release!

I have hardly ever seen choplifter either but I know when I bought it that it only cost like $80 or something like that. I am sure it would end up being mid 100's now.

It is easy to get the loose games and a little less harder to find instructions, when you pay a but load for CIB you are really paying for the box. I don't think you realize just how cheap $436 for those boxes are. I could pay $40 for a loose jungle hunt, $20 for a loose manual and put the CIB of Jungle Hunt on ebay and I am almost positive a bidding war would put it in the high $300's. At least 5 or 6 of those boxes go to games that would sell for $150 - $200 on ebay. You could sell like 3 of those boxes with game and manual that you picked up elsewhere and already have a profit. $436 bucks was a steal, if I wasn't a collector and just a profiteer I would have bought that bundle in a heartbeat for way more than that price.

I would go to my friends house to play Intellivision and he would come to my house to play colecovision when I was a kid. It was a nice arrangement however we were so addicted to Astrosmash, Burgertime, Utopia, and Lock 'n Chase that I never got to play any of the other games We used to play astrosmash for fun with the rule that you had to hyperspace every minute just to give it a little kick. We had a clock that would beep every minute. It was pretty funny. I wish I still had someone to trade off playing with as I only still have my colecovision Dan

I haven't seen it in 2 years on ebay or anywhere else for sale CIB. That doesn't necessarily make it rare but everyone who has it is not giving it up which would make it rare.
-
I was going to totally go after this and would have paid more than that end price but thanks to coleconut I now have a Jungle Hunt CIB and that was the main reason I was going to go after these boxes. I don't really buy things to resell but I would have sold CIB of some of those to pay for the Jungle Hunt. Anyway, it would have been me out bidding but coleconut stopped me from throwing my hat in the ring.

Are you interrested in 2 players ONLY games?
ColecoDan replied to youki's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Well you scared me into checking my Kevtris cart and it seems to be screwed up so it is possible that he did create the carts and they are error prone. The screen takes forever to get it to work usually comes up with the colecovision screen when I finally got it to work it started up and then after a minute it crashed and I haven't been able to get a stable enough start to try and play it again. Do we know anyone who knows how to fix these things. I wouldn't mind the lable with a screw hole and a cut at the seam if I could get the cart to work again. That would be better than a messed up cart. If it is a soldering issue, I will repair it for free for you Dan. Just wanted the world to know that Yurkie saved a piece of history and even did an awesome job saving the Kevtris label with no cuts or holes needed for the repair. Your the BEST Yurkie. I played this for hours last week!!!! -
Masters of the Universe - The Power of He-Man
ColecoDan replied to NIAD's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Yeah actually that is probably the best idea yet. If they change the title of the game and they would probably have to at least adjust the castle because that castle looks exactly like the one on He-man from what I can remember. Then they could release it and people would have a new game and supposedly 2 new games because I believe he told me both were completed and they were just trying to get it released. I don't think anyone has the 2nd He-man on rom though. Of course, I didn't even know some people had the first one. J-F if you know who has the Rom then maybe we can get the Brotherhood to buy it. -
Should I use eBay or can we handle it by ourself?
ColecoDan replied to newcoleco's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Honestly, I want it so only tell people here That is if I don't already have it The people in the forum are going to probably be your most active colecovision lovers so if you truely just want to give it to a colecovision enthusiast that is going to love and play your game then yeah you could sell it here. However, without a doubt you would have to make more money on Ebay where not only we would bid against each other but people that like colecovision and don't hang out in the Forums would be going for it as well. As an example I started buying games on ebay before I knew about this forum. I have also seen some people who ask if anyone is interested here, sees everyones offers and then says oh there are too many bidders I am going to put it on Ebay. Don't be that guy. Coleconut just posted a couple topics ago that he is interested in selling his CIB Jungle Hunt and is taking offers. You could ask him how it is going and you could make an educated choice based off what he is seeing so far. -
Masters of the Universe - The Power of He-Man
ColecoDan replied to NIAD's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I don't know where the 5,000 bucks came from for authorization. The last time I talked to Intellivision Lives guys they said they were never able to get authorization and that they try again every couple of years. They had told me that Mattel was even more against it currently because they were thinking of rebooting He-man with a new tv show, movie, and toy release along with I am sure games for the new systems and they said that they did not want a bad looking product on an old system to make them look bad. I guess the last time I talked to them was beginning of last year so they could have tried since then and had your $5000 quote. -
I have owned my colecovision since 1982 and the 30 - 40 games I owned as a kid I kept all CIB and in good condition. Therefore when I got my colecovision fixed a couple of years ago I felt the urge to keep everything CIB. Of course some games do not come CIB like some of the old homebrews or games released at shows so those are loose. Yes I have paid a small fortune to get all the CIB but I just like it better that way. Plus I only collect Colecovision games so I don't have 10 other systems I am buying games for. It is a little easier to demand perfection when you have a small universe to fill.

It wasn't done by colecovision but by programmers that released it in CGE. I also do not remember who did it but they made 3 different labels and sold them at one of the shows. I have the label that wasn't pictured here. I also have the Super Donkey Kong Jr cart that they did as well which has the extra screen as well. I think people said they used the adam version as a template to create the cart form but did not have enough room to make it fully functional. The Super DKjr is fully functional screen but not the Donkey Kong there is no collision detection in the extra screen. It is more of a novelty to have the Super Donkey Kong since the screen doesn't work, Opcode's release will make this game only important to collection completists as his version will crush the incomplete super donkey kong cart.
