  1. I would think the real key is also getting a functional CV unless you are good at cleaning and repairing electronics then you probably wouldn't care. I think Yurkie usually sells his referbished and modded ones for between 100 - 130 depending on if the unit he is selling has his controller mods that make the controllers awesome. Then it is the higher range price. Otherwise people usually see prices from 70 - 120 without these mods that yurkie has. At least you know when you get it from him it will be in perfect condition. But like I said if you know how to fix things yourself then you could probably just get one for 70 - 120. You can always try to hold out for one on ebay that stays a low price but I hear a lot of those are sold as is and usually need some fixing.
  2. I am by far not good at this stuff that is why I send my colecovisions out to get modded or referbed. However I believe the exp mod works totally independent of the colecovision and everything it needs to function is inside the expansion module. I believe it bypasses everything in the colecovision when it is plugged in so I don't think that working tells you anything other than your expansion module is functional. If you were getting messed up graphics then I would say it was the on off switch that needed to be lubbed. Since you are getting nothing I assume it must be what the other guy thought with the video chip. I think yurkie knows how to fix them if you send it to him but not sure if there are directions out there anywhere. Hope that helps a little. Dan
  3. Now I remember why I hate Pac-man so much, because I suck at it. Finally got descent score 43420
  4. That timepilot looks awesome. I wish they would have put that level in the coleco version. Maybe it was going to be in a super game version that they didn't build.
  5. Sent PM for purchase already. You're games are always great, looking forward to playing this one.
  6. I had about 30 CIB boxes of Colecovision and 40 CIB boxes of Atari games with the Atari adapter from when I got my collecovision as a kid. Since I had those I kinda wanted to get CIB games. I do have about 10 to 15 non CIB from games that I thought I would never get CIB versions so now those are duplictes. I have tried to get every game made even the Homebrews. I pretty mutch have been able to get every game. I have like 12 CIB boxes and of course the impossible to find Bit Corp games that I still have not found but hopefully someday. I did buy a AtariMax SD so I could play the demo games that are not on carts and some of the games that I don't think they ever made carts for them. The AtariMax did save me for the HighScorers club because we were supposed to play Pitfall II and when I tried to play the game it did not work. I cleaned it several times and it still would not play. So I got the Pitfall II rom version and it worked like a charm. The CIB route is definately very expensive and harder to get. I could have easily gotten loose carts for cheap but I went through all the work of saving all my CIB as a kid and I wanted all my new games to be that way as well. Some of the prototypes and game show releases don't have boxes but those you just have to accept there is only a Cart for them and if your lucky you get some cool guy like Pixelboy that wants to make a Jeepers Creepers box and then one of your cart only releases becomes a CIB
  7. Digital Press does have a buy/sell but you first have to be a member and then you have to have been a member for more than like 10 days or something like that and then you get access to it. I guess they figure that helps keep the quick cons away of opening an user account scamming someone and then doing it again as a new user. Not sure if this actually works but that is what they do to help curtail the problem.
  8. I was just wondering if the below quote from the high scorers club would help any of the developers out there figure out the Burgertime bug in order to make this version perfect. I had read things before that no one really knew the pattern and therefore it would be hard to figure out in the code what was wrong but maybe this description helps.
  9. Yeah I wasn't sure if scoring ended or not either since the new game is not til next week. However it is pretty cool that you have a fairly detailed idea of when the screen freeze happens. A lot of developers have described that they did not break it down to a clear enough pattern to be able to figure out what the problem was so I wonder if your description would help them. I may start a thread in the programming area to see if any of them want to take up the cause now that they have a clearer definition of when it happens. It would be pretty cool to not have to worry about the freeze problem anymore.
  10. Well if you don't have the box I am not sure what it is worth because I have never seen it sold without the box. I know someone put one on ebay this year with a pretty good box minimum wear and it sold "buy now" for like $350 in a matter of hours. I bought mine on Atari2600 which had a pretty worn and taped up box and it cost $280 but since you never see these things I didn't want to take a chance at missing it and bought it right away. So since my box was in bad shape I would assume it must be worth less than $280. However, if you want to make the most you would put it on EBAY because people could fight over it and pay more than what they should pay. You could always put a reserve to make sure you got what you wanted for it. Make sure you take a good close up picture of the CART for ebay since you don't have the box. Without the box the CART is the only thing that proves this version is for Colecovision. The other versions sell for next to nothing. I would say if you are a collector like me and you want everything then it is definitely a must have item, otherwise it really is only cool for kids as all you are really doing is drawing pictures on the screen which you have no way to save or print.
  11. Wow good job. I knew 172000 seemed too easy to get. I will have to try to beat you later
  12. Well I don't know how good of a score this is but I figured we would start it off. 172000
  13. whew take those pictures fast I already missed out on a score because I thought I would have some time
  14. well I thought I would try again since I died so much for the other score but now I am about to kill someone over these bats so I am done. 178875
  15. Whew, good thing for Colecovision SD since my PitfallII cart didn't seem to work for some reason. Must have never tested it after I bought it. 147038
  16. I don't know where you live but there are a bunch of them on ebay right now. Of course like people have said in many threads on this forum there are a lot of colecovisions out there that have problems. Although there are people on this site and elsewhere that can fix it for you if you find one that has problems.
  17. At least your finding the carts. I have only seen a couple repo carts. That sucks that a couple of them didn't work especially since they seem to be so hard to find in the first place.
  18. I have Yurkified controllers as well and let me tell you it makes the colecovision 10 times better. Over the years the only thing I have seen people complain about has been the controllers and Yurkies controllers are awesome and remove the pain and awekwardness from the controller.
  19. I am sure this guy did what everyone seems to do now aday and he looked up what some of these items have sold for on ebay. Did not bother to compare with the condition of the items and weather they were in boxes or not and just added the prices together and came up with that figure without deducting that his could be worth less. If he thinks his stuff is worth over 200 I doubt he is going to sell it for $80 but whats the worst that can happen. He either says yes or no. It is not like he is going to hunt you down for making a reasonable offer that he thinks is unreasonable. I would say if you are selling something on craigs list you shouldn't be trying to get ebay prices. If I have to go through the danger of craigs list that you could be a killer or a con artist then I am in no way giving you the value of what you think that item is worth. I will give you below what I think it is worth.
  20. You've got a month to start saving. Skip some lunches
  21. It could be more than 6 maybe we can get all the homebrewers to release some on the same day as well Yeah baby!! How many can we get released in one day
  22. Wow, that is going to be an expensive day for me
  23. Good news about the games. I am glad the only game on your site that I was not too thrilled about is the one that you are axing. Sorry to hear that for your enjoyment of having the game and anyone else that was looking forward to it. I just remember playing space shuttle on Atari and getting extremely frustrated by it. You never mentioned Gulkave or Girl's Garden? Does that mean they are just right on schedule? Anyway, always glad to see more games produced for colecovision. Thanks for your team and your hard work.
