4830 Well looks like I had a lucky round. It is like you are shooting them with a pistol and they are shooting with machine guns. I don't know what kind of patter gets you 20,000 but I have tried many different ways and none of them seem to be a superior pattern of killing these things without random machine gun shootings killing you.

I don't know this is my first year playing in this thing but I assume you have to have what they put in the beginning. As far as I can tell japan mode seems to make the guys bigger and starts them out lower. The first few rounds could be harder than the usa mode. I say play the usa mode and you might find your scores higher. Dan

Well I have the cart so hopefully you do as well but I assume the emulator would be the same. If you don't do anything when you turn on the game 3 choices will show up on the bottom. Use joystick to move down to 3rd choice which is called options. Hit fire button. You will see you are in japan mode move joystick to right to go to USA mode and then hit fire button. It should default back up to first choice again and then hit fire button again.

4180 Just so you know atariron82 your guys are too colorful which means I think you are in Japan mode. It defaults to Japan so you have to switch it to USA in options. Not that USA is any easier.

got mine today as well 94/100 Hope they are not going in order otherwise there are not many left. The box is real nice I like it a lot. Haven't played it yet but look forward to doing so soon.

Thanks for the info, I had emailed them as well and they just told me. Purchased mine a few minutes ago. It doesn't say how many they have left but it says they only created 100 to begin with.

I think you have to hit the pound or star to get to the screen to add coins and then you push the 1 for 1 player and the 2 for 2 player. I was playing this a little just to see why everyone had such low scores and this sucker is a little difficult. It is going to take some time to get used to it. Dan

OOh I don't think I knew ping pong was being set for pre-orders. I am on the mailing list but never got anything saying do I want to get one. You can definately put me on ping pong pre order list.

Actually Ranger G the early rounds are the easiest to get 50,000 bonus for not hitting any cars. After I started getting the hang of it I wouldn't even continue playing if I accidentally hit a car in the first level. But I did get pretty good at it and only hit a car in the first round by accident so it made sense to just reset for me because 80 - 90 percent of the time I would get the 50,000 bonus. After a while I even started resetting if I didn't get the 50,000 bonus on the first 2 levels. Pretty much after the 5th or 6th level it is pretty insane and very hard to not hit cars so I would just bash into as many of those suckers as I could to make up for all the early rounds where I was trying to avoid them You don't want to waste the early rounds hitting cars because as the levels get harder it is harder to not hit cars and easier to just bash into them as you survive the crazy jumps. It is not worth losing lives by trying to hit the islands on purpose the later rounds will have you needing to hit islands in order to actually make the jump so you will get your points there. 365812 I had the game of my life Let me tell you after you work hard to get 50,000 the first few rounds it feels good in the later rounds just to bash into those suckers. By the way you can die and still get the 50,000 bonus which is what I did to make sure I got it in some rounds. The guy who didn't get it must have hit a car and it crashed off screen so you didn't see it because that happened to me in one of my tries and I was pissed when I saw one car hit. Whew I can't believe I was able to post a score higher than duncantoml even if it doesn't hold up I still can't believe it.

Actually when I was young I always played bump and jump on intellivision. I loved it, it was my favorite. I actually like it a lot better on intellivision especially the collision detections because on colecovision if you nudge a car he goes flying into the wall and blowing up when intellivision seemed a little more realistic in that it wouldn't move very far if you didn't hit the car that hard. Colecovision seems pretty impossible to finish the round without blowing up a car because they pretty much always fly into a wall when you nudge them.

Well 65,700 is as good as it is going to get cause I am tired of playing.

This game is hard at the high levels. Haven't been able to pass the 30s for a while now so might as well post this one. Looks like 43350 is going to be hard for me to beat. My hats down to 120000 that is pretty amazing, I am going to need a performance enhancing drug test done on you.

Well first time joining you guys as just got my coleco restored earlier this year. My hand hurts but it was a lot of fun trying to get this high score. My score was 108,660

At least he has the better one of the two. DKJr at least has a playable extra level even though it is easy. The DK one you get on the level and it has no collision detection so you can just walk through things. It will be awesome to see the new Donkey Kong Arcade version I can tell you that.

By the way he has gotten a little better on the listing a month ago when he listed this he was charging like 400 bucks

I talked to J-F a while back about this since I could sense his handywork. The cart is a re-release from one of the gaming shows so it is a valid cart of Super DK or JR forgot which one is on this ebay listing. I was lucky enough to find super DK and Super DK JR for 50 bucks each from some guy a while back so they do exist. But they were not produced with boxes just carts. So J-F like always likes to make boxes so he made the box for this. He says it is hard to see from picture on ebay but this was one of his early tries at a box so it is not even up to his quality of standards that he produces today. I don't think the guy selling it was the guy that got it from J-F so it is possible even he doesn't realize what he has. Dan

you shouldn't have to do that I see them on ebay all the time. As a matter a fact i think I remember one showing up recently so it is probably still available. Otherwise I am sure Yurkie or someone that fixes colecovisions has an extra one they can sell you. No need to make a makeshift one it should be easy for you to get. Dan
