Wait someone is creating Expansion Module #4 that plays Intellivision games. That is awesome, if that is true I have to start buying Intellivision games.

Someone on these news groups said the roller controller made Time Pilot a lot more fun to play but I haven't tried it yet. Dan

Atari 2600 homebrews converted to ColecoVision
ColecoDan replied to Pixelboy's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I have the Mario Bros and it is fun and very good graphics. I have spent many hours playing it. Dan -
My first experience seeing colecovision was at my parents friend's house. When we visited their kids had a colecovision and I don't remember what games they had, I just know I played Venture like all night long and absolutely fell in love with colecovision that night. The next day I told my parents when christmas came I wanted a colecovision. I had put it on my list to Santa and my mom said they did many of those stand in line in the middle of the night to try and get the few colecovisions that shipped to the store. My mom was going to give it from Santa since I put it on my list and my dad was like what are you crazy I want us to give it to him not Santa. My parents have a video of me opening it for christmas and going absolutely nuts jumping around the room and promising to do my homework and get good grades. Luckily I was a good student and that promise never got challenged. I just remember playing donkey kong non stop. I don't think I got any other games that day because I don't remember playing anything else. I remember being mad that we had to go to my aunts for christmas because all I wanted to do was stay home and play colecovision. It has been 10 yrs since I last played colecovision and after getting it fixed/modded I went on a massive purchasing hunt since I only had like 30 - 35 games from my childhood. I also love the homebrew games and have been playing Mario Brothers a lot. I was playing penguin land a lot too but I keep getting my egg killed and I got annoyed so I put it in Timeout I just got Kevtris so I have been a little addicted to that lately. However, my buying has left me with a full collection of colecovision games with very few left to find and I am not even close to having played half of them so have to stop the addictions and move through the list of all these games so I can play them all.

Quest for Quintana Roo gameplay help *overlay pic added*
ColecoDan replied to Yurkie's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
When are you selling these overlays yurkie? Put me down. I can't get anywhere on this game because I keep having to hit the buttons multiple times for the correct one. Haven't played long enough to remember the buttons. My first Cart kept going back to title screen after seeing my guy slide down the entrance to the room. Luckily my CIB came in the mail and that one has worked fine. I haven't tried cleaning the other one yet hopefully that is the problem. Dan -
Who's looking to get all the ColecoVision Games Library?
ColecoDan replied to retroillucid's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I have my original colecovision with Box from 1982. My mom said we kept the box because the colecovision kept failing and we actually had to return it like 3 times before I found one that didn't fail. I don't remember that but my mom says it is so. I had all my original games and atari games with Expansion controller with all CIB. Don't remember how many atari games I have but my original Colecovision CIB from back then was 31 and then of course Slither, Turbo, and Donkey Kong without boxes. Now currently after getting my colecovision fixed this year I have 114 CIB Colecovision games Including Telegames with their horrible boxes. I have a couple of hard to find protos and re-releases I have all of Opcode games he has on his site except Road Fighter I hopefully will have some Pixelboy games once he finishes Gulkave and Girl's Garden (From your site I didn't see any that were finished so I either missed out on those or they don't exist) I have a few of the CollectorVision games, and bought the homebrews on AtariAge as well. I have 1 of Daniels games (GhostBlaster) thanks to a generous guy for parting with it, I guess I don't officially have it until it arrives in the mail I don't collect any CBS except Schtroumpfs CIB because I thought it was cool they changed the name of the game. Most of the games that I do not have CIB, I at least have the Cart and many of the manuals. Still looking for the rest of the hard to find protos or even re-releases and to finish my CIB collection. At the very least though I hope to have all the games so I can play them on my newly refurbished colecovision. Still mad at Yurkie for getting me to start playing Quest for Quintana Roo as it is driving me batty Dan Dan -

Free straight cords on refurbished ColecoVision Controllers
ColecoDan replied to Yurkie's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
As far as I can tell with Venture going Diagonal seemed more acurate with the ball knob. The other games not sure if you can tell the difference or not since there was usually not much complaints from me. I know timepilot was always difficult with controller so I can check that out. -
I bought from coleconut before, he is a good guy to buy from as well. Just got your shipment today so should be playing them soon.

Free straight cords on refurbished ColecoVision Controllers
ColecoDan replied to Yurkie's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Well I will tell you I bought the first set of these mainly for the nice long straight cord. I haven't played colecovision in like 10 years so I thought I will play Venture since that is the game that got me excited about buying a colecovision in 82. Venture was know for hard to go diagonal and a pain to control with colecovision controller. The roller ball did make a big difference. I had a lot more control and it was a lot easier on the hands. I think colecovision missed the boat by not making their controllers like this originally. I gotta tell you though having that nice long straight cord so I could lie back on my couch while playing was awesome. By the way Yurkie to pull from your other topic, I tried to play a little of Quintana Roo and I am gunna kill you. It is such a pain in the ass. Whoever made this game without making an overlay needs to be taken out back and beaten. I will play it more later on but I haven't played colecovision in so long that I want to play some dig dug and pac man and the tons of games I have bought this year. Have a good one. Dan -
All the common games have a lot of CIB in ebay and the common ones are usually not priced high. Other non common games CIB can end up getting driven up in price on ebay so be prepared to pay for those. I don't see too many people buy the loose carts so if you just want to pick up a game while you look for the CIB those are usually cheap. I have been building up my CIB collection all year so far and have racked up a hefty bill but have a pretty good collection of them now. Unfortunately I buy for my own collection of playing so I do not have doubles of CIB to offer you. I finally got my colecovision back from getting fixed and have been playing since I got home. I was going to try to play that Quest for Roo game for Yurkie's Topic but haven't gotten anywhere so far so will probably move to Dig Dug since it is my all time favorite. Good luck on the CIB purchases, by the way a good site is Atari2600.com A lot of times when I see something on ebay I look there to see what they are selling it at and some of the harder to find games are usually cheaper there than on ebay. Luckily my mom and dad were savers and I learned to save everything so all my colecovision games were saved box and all along with all the atari games I had bought for the atari adapter. So luckily when I started collecting again at the beginning of this year I already had 50 colecovision CIB. Thanks Mom and Dad Dan

ColecoVision Game List .pdf Updated 4/23/10
ColecoDan replied to Yurkie's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I wasn't trying to bust your balls yurkie, I am sure this list was a lot of work and I appreciate that, I just didn't understand why you only cared about US releases. At least with your list I only have 6 more titles to find -
ColecoVision Game List .pdf Updated 4/23/10
ColecoDan replied to Yurkie's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I am not sure I understand why you guys are so stringent and only want US release list. I would rather see a full complete list and just state where it is from since I would want to play and know about anything anyone made. If the Taliban created a ColecoVision game called "Destroy the Infidels" I would still want to know about and play it. -
Here ya go guys, don't say I don't look out for ya! It just came on the board eBay Auction -- Item Number: 320523486948

Here is a link to 2 donkey kong boxes. I know you said you wanted sealed but I am sure those would cost even more. http://www.colecovisionzone.com/page/miscellaneous/store%20games%20boxed.html

Question: I don't think I saw Exerion on your initial post of what games you were thinking of putting on ebay. Do you have an idea of the exact games you are going to put out there in case some of us can't afford to try and get them all then we can save our money for specific choices? Thanks Dan

I achieved getting GhostBlaster for Colecovision by Daniel Bienvenu from a generous soul who was willing to part with it. Thanks

Did you see the movie WarGames? I had a friend in college who had the Adam computer with modem. Back then you could get into any computer system through the phone and nobody thought about security back in those old days. He used to change his grades and used to cause problems for companies. So I don't know about colecovision created sites that it was meant for but it definately let you get out and connect to any computer that had a telephone connection to the network.

By the way, talking about those other sites of homebrewers reminded me that the IntellivisionLives guys are the ones that have the finished Masters of the Universe game for Colecovision. I talked to them and they said they have tried multiple times to get Mattel to give them the rights to redistribute it but Mattel says they are thinking of reintroducing He-Man and feel that these classic games would look poorly on them being of poor quality to today's standards. I think we need to organize some kind of campaign to get Mattel to forget about this ridiculous stance. Even if for some stupid reason it was a true, who is ever going to see these old games except collectors who would love them. Dan

All reports from websites I saw said the game was awesome. Just an FYI though since I am guessing you saw this on the IntellivisionLives site. I purchased on March 11 and am still waiting for mine. They are not pre-made copies. When they get an order they need to make it and then you are subject to them having to do other things or not finding someone to make the cart for a while.
