the stuff that piko says lee told him reeks of mk-isms. i would say its a possibility unless piko could say for certain its not.

personally, im starting to think lee was actually mike using a voice changer or something. piko, do you recall any instances of MK and lee being in the same place at the same time, meaning when you talked to lee on the phone at the toy fair, was mike within sight distance?

welcome to you, and everyone who is signing up! was especially cool to see someone sign up from abroad too. welcome to you buddy. its what makes forums grow, when people come outta that lurk stage. i guess i read the forums here for a handful of years before i signed up in 2010, but its kind of been like that on a lot of forums for me. certain topics bring me there and i just forget to make an account because i dont want to end up tossing a ton of time into discussion, then after a while i feel guilty not sayin somethin. atariage is a great annul of information, and communitywise kind of a melting pot of na/dp/neogaf/everywhere vg, makes it i would say the best gaming forum. i hope you check out some of the other subforums and enjoy it here! and again, i dont want to sound mean at all. but i hope some of you other 'manual readers' like i was sign up too. its a very great community to be a part of even if atari or coleco isnt your main vg love because of not only the people but because of how crucial the atari and its developments over the years were to programming for other systems. not only programming information, but historical information that all gamers should know, for sure. i spend a lot of time reading here and i really, really do wish i could afford to subscribe to show my support but im having some pretty crippling family issues right now, so maybe i appreciate that its as great of an archive of information as it is and a great balance of personalities here too. wanted to take a second and say this since theres been at least 4 or 5 people to sign up now in the last few days, thanks deathsled and all you new guys! as far as the shells, maybe in a year or two when all this dies down, we'll see mike eek a few clear ones out on ebay. one youtube reviewer said mike gave him his, if nothing else comes from all of this, i can definitely see mike having etched out a market so that he can sell jag shells to people, be it for their own jag or even for project development. maybe that was the plan all along, to add some value to the molds, hah!

take it the way the story thus far dictated, or however you decide, its not my place to judge or dictate whether people get humor or offense out of anything. not saying you're in the former category, but people with more 51% of a brain (or more) shouldnt have to ask others how they should view something, right?

ehh, thats a stretch. theres a big difference between standing in front of a swaz and what you said. the tone of the vid is 'im mike kennedy, the sole proprietor of the coleco chameleon', right off the bat. its not what he said in that vid but what he didnt say. and its not the best, i agree. but to me, the whole ethos of these guys doing these parodies is pretty much putting more effort into the actual parody than mike put into the chameleon itself. either way, i wont post anything else youtube related in here unless i consider it very compelling, but i have no doubt that these youtube rants and parodies will continue to be made and theres no reason for any of us to get upset or angry or frustrated about a single one of em. they would get made regardless of who it is making em. ill still most likely watch em all regardless.

its funny because we're finally getting to the point in this saga where the parodies are starting to outweigh the rants. humor is objective, i get that. its the little subtleties in that vid that get me. dropping the console at the end. stuff like that. the parody with the tablet and the tissuebox was also really funny to me because the guy nailed the mike kennedy verbiage and everything. lets all sit back and enjoy what comes about of the next few days and do some listening instead of talking. lets listen to what these other guys have to say, because they wouldnt be saying it without our discussion. and lets not turn on one another over how we feel. after all, its about making sure people are informed. there will be a difference of opinion in anything. we've said and done a lot of good here. theres no reason anyone needs to be upset with whats happening here. again, remember, we've done a lot of good in the understanding we've all shared here.

well, i feel that often the sellers never know what they have, or they dont have the means to get that kind of money for it. some of those big game hunter vids, he really leans on the people selling stuff, to the point of badgering them with lowball offers. i watched one vid last night and there was a boxed computer system that they wanted $100 for, he didnt want to leave it there. he waited to see if they'd take his offer, they said no, he came back, offered them $60 or 65, they said no, he came back a third time and offered them 80 or 85. bottom line, mike is the kind of guy that wouldnt feel bad buying 17 neo geo games and a system from someone for $650 and turning around and flipping it all for max profit. i would like to think i still live in a world where most people around me would feel guilty taking that big of an advantage of people who need money. edit: also, i forgot to mention that he talked the sellers down from $1000 to $650...so maybe they did know a little bit of what they had. who knows! he probably shot em a 450 offer to start out.

check it out, here's a vid mike uploaded where he pays $650 for over $4k worth of neo geo stuff. theres 30 or 40 more on his youtube channel too. for all the gloating he himself has done over ripping people off, what he is getting here is virtually nil. nothing is being taken too far here when you take into account that mike literally made a name for himself by ripping people off, and had we not been so vocal, he may have done it on a much greater scale.

you should! i know i'd definitely listen. i guess the thing about doing them that can get tedious is the routine or the schedule and sticking with it, but really id like to see some more short format type podcasts come about, maybe 20 or 30 minute ones. seems like most people go 45 minutes or an hour.

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=coleco+chameleon at this point, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of page 2 to even see a thumbnail with mike in it. all the vids made by the community are the first results! if mike had a shred of common sense after all of this, he'd pack it in. not because thats what we want to see happen, but because it would be an acknowledgement that he made big mistakes and that he wont be making any more. i dont even care if we ever get a response beyond that now.

nonono, thats too complicated. mike was reading the thread just like the rest of us. if we've learned anything, its that we're thinking two steps ahead when the conspirator is only thinking in the moment.

it not being mike would mean that there was another pr person who knew that things werent what they seemed. which would make it much worse. are we to assume lee is not only the hardware guy, but also a pr guy? so much deception in all this.

if i may, it was no more than 2 minutes. i know this for a fact because i was watching the thread (literally f5d right then) when the card was identified, and i went to the fb page immediately to see just how fast the photos would be removed. it was painfully clear that if it wasnt mike reading this thread, that he has someone doing it for him. not only that, theres more evidence that it was mike reading the thread because of the pics being pulled in and of itself. with 1-2 minutes between when a definitive id on the vidcap card and when the pics were pulled, theres basically no timeframe in which whoever saw us identify the board could have somehow contacted mike and said 'well, they figured us out'. all signs point to mike both reading the thread and pulling the pics himself as well.
