ive seen a few posts that have eeked their way through, i dunno if its due to moderation or what, if its broken. who knows. its only been people posting stickers or tagging their friends, no actual comments. but, you can click on the '76 shares' on that status and see that people are sharing and commenting, and they're not too pleased.

he didnt even need to show those pics of a network card in a jag shell. all he would have had to do is say 'sorry folks, the kickstarter's delayed' and taken whatever kind of backlash there would have been. it would have been much less damage control. at this point, its as if he wants to do everything completely wrong.

he needs to do it and he needs to end his plans to make this thing. it doesnt look like he's done all that much, and i doubt he's invested any money beyond the shells. also, what he has done with the snes jr, as well as this video capture card may not entirely be legal to begin with, given that we found out what they were. that would be a matter of the company making the vidcap card and the snes jr to handle. i feel like he's going to have to come completely clean about all of it and say sorry, the chameleon isnt happening at this point and why. maybe try and make good on his magazine subscriptions and try again years and years down the line if he wants to make a system...and have someone else be in charge of calling the shots.

at this point i would like to implore mike to address this personally, and here. i dont even care if he feels all of us would probably be better off in Salem circa 1692, we are so far beyond that point that i rather feel like my intelligence has been insulted, and im sure we all do. he's stepped all over the atari name with how he's bastardized the shells and with it, our trust, and 'our' is the gaming community as a whole..id really like an apology from mike. and most of all, some solid and concrete answers. no more of this 'wait and see' stuff, im outta fucks and time to give.

thanks playswithwolves! so, does anyone want to make a guess as to how he powered that LED in there? im guessing his method of attack was using that hot glue and maybe a cr2032 tucked away somewhere. alls i know is that i want to see the capture card running games with this software fully going before im even going to consider putting money down for this product at this point. its another dark day in retroland as far as im concerned.

geez man...guess i coulda figured really..do you remember if he did multiple colors? i would have thought with the c64 case ks doing well that maybe he would have had a bit of interest there, but then again, thats c64's and not jaguars, quite a bit older, and i guess theres more fanatical c64 fans.

if it were me (or anyone, really id think), i would have been selling jag shells all along and squirreling whatever money that was made away to put toward r&d and advertising..of course he would have to run the molds sooner than he would want. maybe only do 2 colors, maaaaybe 3. but hey, if he did that, he could have at least attempted to establish a decent enough rep with the community by doing good business on at least the shells. cant say the mag did that, cant really say anything ive seen out of him thus far has given any faith.

regardless of the color, he would still have to have boards made. and pay to have em made. he is attempting to have us believe its happening, and i as well as anyone else seeing it doesnt see it happening after slapping a snes into a jag shell i would hope. i mean maybe its just me, but all of this has had a cumulative effect and kind of shows us mike's line of logic as well. doing that crap with the snes jr tells me he's not the kinda guy to whip out gerber or eagle and have the patience to design a board even if he knew electronics well enough to do so. nor do i see him paying someone else to do such a thing, just as much as i dont see him paying to have a board made. he probably feels he has invested too much in it already and the public at large keeps getting too hip to his chicanery. you dont go from having a snes in a jag shell two weeks ago to having a fully populated board today, working or nonworking. even if he had a board (meaning, 'i dont physically have the board yet, but the board design has been completed and is being produced this week! hurry up and wait, all will be revealed soon!), he would have went to the toy fair with that mess and said 'this is simply a simulation of what our hardware will be able to do, our boards are not fully ready, but check out some of our launch titles!'. transparency. honesty. its not happening. if anything, he's shoving whatever bullshit under our noses that he thinks that we might wish to eat while he is most likely furiously trying to find someone with hardware that he can outright buy it from so that the least amount of actual heavy lifting has to happen.

there is no way this particular board would or could be a proto. beyond everything else, why would they have a proto board dyed in blue? that shit costs extra to do, especially for one board. why would they have funding to run the full order for boards, but show us absolutely nothing? the problem here is that we're thinking two steps ahead of foolishness and ridiculousness looking for a conceivably true answer. the answer is right there. its FULLY FAKE. as in, 'this is a network card or something'. maybe its an audigy board. maybe its from a cash register. maybe its random parts from a dental product that came included with the molds from the last deal the poor jag mold went through. one thing it AINT, is a prototype board for a coleco chameleon. if this debacle has taught us anything, it is to not trust anything mike says or does. hey, if it were a coleco chameleon motherboard, mike would have zero reason to not show us, haters, fans, people on the fence what it can do, kickstarter or no kickstarter.

i dunno fellas...beyond these gripes, wouldnt it not be a screened board? it would be a breadboard of some type with wires and signs of you know, actual work, actual soldering? that is, if it were a real prototype. and not just some some random board thrown inside a jag shell with pictures taken of it as a last ditch hope to somehow save a few facial skin follicles
