One way I can see something similar is using a DVD in a plastic case and calling it a "disk" (like the PlayStation Portable). Either that or read-only SD cards are the best bets for this stuff.
...
I wonder if I can implement an SD card reader on a motherboard.

Do want.
Need the first one to make the second one actually make sense.
Or is this the only Mario series that actually goes in unison unlike the previous (SMWorld, 64, etc.)?
-
Ah, so THAT's why they're there. I thought it had something to do with emulation and whatsuch.
And wouldn't it mainly be on the left due to scanline "beams"?
-
Needless to say, it's good to see the younger folks into the classic stuff as well. For a minute there, my increasingly-jaded conscience was getting the best of me--I was thinking to myself, "why are all of these kids here?".. Then I had to slap myself and remember that I was already collecting and doing the exact same thing at their age.
At least they still made Atari games back when you were our age.
Now they have nearly-photorealism in video games instead of large pixels the size of hams. They aren't as tasty.
-
I have to argue with people saying they want super-ultra realistic visuals. The main reason that amount of video RAM is there is not to make those realistic graphics, but to create complex art styles. I agree, all the bloom is just dizzying with all the glowing. Maybe on some brightly coloured buildings, but not on people.

We could form a little homebrewery group called Young Whippersnappers Inc.
Eh, just a suggestion.
-
Being a sixteen-year-old with a liking for Atari consoles will get you laughed and pointed at because you "don't like realistic graphics".
I just finished reading a thread on how it was an eyesore.
Heck, I'm tempted to start a homebrewing club called the 2K6h next year as a senior.
-
I've acquired it. Does it disappear after May 24th or could I save it until I have a PC to run it and it play?
-
I attempted with N64 homebrew. 3D programming is more difficult than 2D, if you know your C language.
Hope you have better luck with it than I did.
-
If any retro/Atari conventions exist, I wonder if they have Point of Purchase machine there.

-
Albeit, I never owned an Atari console or grew up back then, playing those games now somehow....it feels.....awesome. I feel immersed in the arcade gameplay rather than playing a part in a story (like now).
-
When I finish my homebrew I know who to bring it to. Those finished carts look great

As do I. I thought you guys had a service for this, but now it looks better than I anticipated.
...
Mind if we take a look at your label printer or something?

-
Yeah, when I got my Wii, we're stuck using it on a 32" Magnavox CRT. It's not a bad combo, but the TV keeps shutting off without warning (power LED's still on, but the picture ain't.) and when there are games with ONLY widescreen displays, causing burn-ins at the top and bottom, ruining letterbox games in a way. The display's the main reason I still stick with GameCube games.

Go and abuse yourself to Pamela Anderson pics, RT.

Jane Krakowski is a stone hottie. Today.

Does this make me a bad person for actually agreeing and +1ing the statement?
Back to the topic, I am so tempted to take the sound clip of "Oh no you ain't, you're gonna play
POLE POSITIIIIIIOOOOOONNNNNN!!!!!!" and blast it out in class tomorrow.
-
The legs might of had it go too far, but the very idea of this? Blasphemy to the franchise!
-
Meh, this might be a suicidal move, and I don't know the future, but I think I might pitch in a bit. I can try with some graphics and box/label art.
-
Power cables make good whips. That's what the whip prop Harrison Ford used in the Indiana Jones series.
Just kidding...

SUGGESTION: Add a shadow that changes sprites of increasing size as the plane's Y position lowers.
-
Someone could also modify a special joystick to use two buttons and it would be sold if a final product is ever made.

Copyrights will be a big issue with this game if it was ever sold.
And there was some article on Sega Master System controllers being used on an Atari 2600. I'd look into that if I were you.
-
I have now experienced this on a TV...emulating it, of course, but it's still awesome. LCD screens run the fun
I'm in the process of box and cartridge art now when I should be repairing PCs, if you don't mind.

This game being a community effort sounds good. I might get started.
Besides, if FIRE activates a shield, what does a sword? Will FIRE be used to pick up/drop items?

Aww, poor widdow thing. Would a rep point help?

I was being rhetorical in a way.
P.S. Wow, Player 3, did you really link the actual URL of that sad smiley with a BB Code img tag? Talk about the Rube Goldberg method!
For future reference, here's a link to the full list of AtariAge smilies and their short-codes:...It was in the smilies menu.
I'm searching for an Atari 2600 for homebrew purposes.

Not trying to sound picky or anything, but you think you could use the no_blank_lines kernel or would it be impossible with the current kernel being used? Just curious on the matter.

It's amazing how you guys do this. Now I wanna know how to make my own motherboards/chips.
