    Towers II

It is pretty curious, all things considered. So far my odds don't look the most favorable, though. Blah.

Yeah, I emailed Carl at Songbird, he said maybe end of summer or later. Yeah, dunno on Telegames, it doesn't list it without VAT for me. Even went ahead and made an account that listed me as in the US to see if that'd help. Then I tried moving the transaction all the way to the last step before it's a finalized order, and the charge never came off. Like I had mentioned to someone in a PM that was talking about this with me, probably going to eBay a couple of my Sega CIB's that I'm not terribly attached to, try to absorb some of the impact of paying this much for a single title. Normally wouldn't go to this much trouble, but I love RPGs, and as far as I know, this is the only true one on Jaguar. Must have it.
  3. Does anyone know whatever happened to this guy, and more importantly, his cleaning solution he sold? I always kept to the 91% alcohol for the actual contacts, but his solution was a lifesaver for shells and especially labels. Only cleaner I found that lifted label dirt without removing ink. Problem was, a bottle would last ages, sometimes years, so I never purchased it frequently. Ran out recently, went to get more, and I find his eBay store completely gone, his profile hasn't sold anything in ages, and his website is gone. Did I miss something in the interim? Is there a comparable product out there?

    Elansar Jaguar

Looks snazzy, and I never care much about boxes or manuals.

    Fatal Out Run

That's unfortunate to learn. I'd always figured it wouldn't be too hard to convert Fatal Run into Roadblasters, either. Ah, well. Wonder why that particular problem happens?
  6. Awesome! I've been hopin' for this one since the first go-round! Frenzy is a game that deserved to be on more home consoles than just the Colecovision. 7800 is a perfect place for it.

Largely because I'm trying to find a way to spend less money at a time, not more. Can't really do a huge fortune at the moment. Really just had a want for Towers II.

I'll look into those options, however, the Telegames UK is pretty steep. Ends up being around 140 USD. (Which, I was under the impression that they weren't to apply VAT to US residents. Had that changed since I bought something from the UK?) Just regretting more and more not mailing that flyer back and ordering it when I had the first chance.

Yeah, I first heard of it as a Jaguar game, so that's where I want to play it. From screenshots, it looks like it uses the Jag's horsepower better than some other games did. Forgive my ignorance, but I've no clue who that is.

I emailed them this morning, actually. At least their US site. They said it was not available via them anymore.

    Towers II

So I recently (after a spate of crazy Master System collecting) decided to start back up gathering up things for my Jaguar. (Still haven't gotten around to trying to fix the CD unit, but it's on the to-do list). I remember getting flyers in the mail from GoAtari (later GoAtari.com) that mentioned Towers II. Having every intention of buying it, for whatever reason at the time, never got around to it. Looked it up on eBay a few years back, prices were a bit higher, 50-70 bucks, a bit much to stomach, but still doable. Today, I went to eBay, and only find one single copy, at a price that's far beyond anything I'd think rational or even normal inflation. (Maybe I'm wrong, and it really does go for $300 now. Seems too high, though.) Is that basically my only chance at playing this? I'd just like to know before I either get my hopes up and search for something cheaper, or resign myself to not owning this one.
  12. Wow, Bob. You never fail to impress. This one looks like it's going to be your best, most ambitious project yet. I'll definitely be following this topic.
  13. I've a complete set. Honestly, while Tank Command was costly, it wasn't hard to find. Commando gave me trouble, but it took me ages to find a copy of Rampage and Kung Fu Master.
  14. Can't wait to get my hands on this one.
  15. Are you still adding folks to the list for this?
  16. As far as the big N having a problem with Giana Sisters, I think that ship has sailed. Don't forget the Giana Sisters DS game. I mean, that's on a Nintendo system, so I think they're okay with the IP existing, these days. http://www.giana-sis...sisters_en.html
  17. Lucky dog, that's a great deal! Here I thought my $15 Commando was a great score, but you sure beat that by a mile.
  18. Bob doesn't disappoint. Space Duel 7800 is fantastic.

  19. All great choices. I would definitely agree with the Collection, Jr, and Beef Drop. Also B*nq, or however it's spelled. (The Q*bert game). Then, of course, there's Space Duel, Asteroids Deluxe, Space Invaders, and Failsafe. (all 7800). Just, for the sake of ease, get all the games Bob made. You won't be sorry. I also agree with the mentions of K.O. Cruiser and Ladybug for 2600.
  20. I loved Flashback. Very fluid animation, responsive control, challenging, but not impossible, all around great game. I still prefer Out of this World/Another World, though.
  21. Finally, a Mortal Kombat game I'm interested in! Been a long time since an MK game has come out that I'd want to purchase.
  22. I agree, I wouldn't mind a bit of browsing. However, I think it's more about the backend than anything else. To open it to browsing means all the links are active, which means people can add things to cart. It'd require a heftier amount of behind the scenes work to basically set the store to "vacation mode" which means that all the "add to cart" buttons would be inactive, etcetera and so forth. On the other hand, it'd perhaps simply be done by making up an entire "mock store" set of pages, and just altering the "Store" link during vacations/closures to point to the browse-only variants, instead of the active links. /ramble
  23. Oh, that's a sad thing to read, Bob. I was quite looking forward to your version of it. Guess I'll have to stick to using the CV when I want a round of it. Alas, this just means you have more time for Pac & Pal. No matter what it is you're doing, keep up the good work, the 7800 owes you a great deal.
  24. Sounds good. Been looking forward to rocking on some Space Duel.
