  1. I have a unexpanded vic 20. I have a datasette and a bunch of business and home software type stuff. Nothing fun the datasette works as i can load and run any of these home typing, inventory, tax type programs i have. (nothing fun though) So im trying to see if i can find games online and put them on cassette. I also have a panasonic, walkman like tape player/recorder and an audio jack to audio jack cord i been putting one end to the mic on the walkman and the other onto the headphone jack on my pc speaker. I have the audiotap program as well as the one that looks like it but does .prg to .tap or wav conversions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- what games can i try to put on a normal cassette? any, or just ones that specify they work on unexpanded vic 20's? (Was hoping to get gorf) when i convert a prg file do i convert it to tap format? or wav? ( Ive been converting to tap) the record level gauge on my recorder almost is maxed out with no volume on my speakers (Can hear the screaches through my speakers with no volume) so when i turn on volume to minimal level on my pc speakers the needle on the recording level guage on the tape player maxes out and is to the extreme right. (Red section on extreme left and a line in the center which i assume is optimal levels) I tried a few files and they all searched endlessly when i tried loading them , a few were found but quickly showed an error, or out of memory error. (I was using prg converted to tap files then playing the sound through audiotap while i recorded on tape) any help or information would be gladly accepted.. thanks in advance
  2. Most probably PAL. I tried a different tv (older type as well as my newer tv) no go on either. Using an atari jr but doubt a wood grain would make any difference. kinda sucks as i was really wanting to try pitfall II
  3. Cool, thanks I'll take a look and sign up there as well.
  4. I picked up two carts and both seem to roll on my tv. Got them at a garage sale in Quebec Space Shuttle which has bilingual Label EAZ-033 (open fixed prongs) and Pitfall II Lost Caverns Bilingual copyright that rolls over onto the end label itself. EAB 035 04 (open fixed prongs) Assuming they must be pal then? Neither one looks to have a white circle/sticker with the N on it. Not to say they didnt have one in the past.
  5. Thats too funny i was just watching your youtube video on the booster grip. I'm from the ottawa area
  6. Looking for a working Starpath Supercharger. I also have a couple games i cant play, I need a driving controller (similar to paddles) and I also need the joystick for omega race. (booster grip?) I think i recall as a kid having a joystick that was a long handle with a triangle (Pilot control stick like) top with a button on the handle and side of the control stick that worked with that game too? Unless folks know of other controllers that work with that game or ways to make it work. I'm Located in Canada I should also note I am looking for a Commodore Vic 20 Power supply with the DIN connection end not the 2 pin type.
  7. I just got a playstation 1 from a thrift store. Looked decent until i got home. Opened the lid (It was bagged at store) and hello! I think they were growing plants or potatoes in this thing. Surprisingly the laser was fine and read games. Thing had soil from one end to the other. Then I opened and took the covers off. I found body hair of EVERY sort inside. (Chewbacca owned it last i think) and it looked like someone poured wax all over the vents, inside the ports and even found globs of wax under the reset/power buttons. How you get wax in there is beyond me, but there was enough to make a big candle at the end of the cleaning. Not sure I wanna know what kind of nasty or kinky stuff this poor machine had to endure. In short this thing was nasty. Looks new now and works like new but dayam that was the nastiest Ive ever seen. Wanted to gag at few times. Beyond me how game consoles get into such condition. I could goto the dump and likely find one in the landfill in better condition.
  8. Curiosity here since i mostly collect atari games up till now. Recently got back into nintendo (nes, snes, n64 etc) and hoping to get into the genesis /master stuff if/when i find those. my question/s. Atari 2600 (5200/7800) - had multi labels, black and white vs color vs text vs endless other variations etc. for many games themselves. Nintendo NES as i recently learned has 5 screw vs 3 screw (no clip vs has clip) cart's. Do snes, n64, genesis, master system games also have variations? And what game systems do you consider to be having the most variations for single game/s? I'm going to guess here and assume atari 2600, could be wrong
  9. Thanks will take a look. And wow, never knew they made 5 screw / no clip versions of nintendo nes games. Hopefully not a lot of games, lol. Bad enough looking for the multi labels on atari carts as it is lol
  10. I actually have a "sticker" book from when i was in grade school. Must be at least 30 years old. (Or will be in the coming year) Turns out it is littered full of donkey kong, donkey kong jr, pac man, ms pacman, qbert and various other puffies. Kinda cool to see. Lots of scratch and sniff's too. And shiny metallic types. As well as cabbage patch and garbage pail stickers. Not in the greatest shape but still kinda cool. (Should take pics of it and post em up for nostalgia sake) Dollar stores around me still sell puffies. Mostly animals, and newer things like pokemon, and bakugan (Spelling?) and that type. Hanna montanna, jonas brothers, spiderman, iron man etc.
  11. I saw one at a thrift store for $2 but it was just the console (blue) and nothing else so i didnt bother. But thats on my to find list I havnt seen any sega master system or genesis stuff in a long time. well besides the genesis 2nd vers. in my tv cabinent i mean Wish i still had my boxed master system/zapper with 2 built in games and my original sega genesis. Hoping to find those at some sales in future too All i can say is thank god my wife loves me. she hates my toys the kids on other hand they love em!
  12. Went to a garage sale this weekend. Intention was 1 house, didnt know about the others. Turned out it was 3 streets all selling and wow glad i showed up early. Ended up finding a Nintendo nes console, 2 controllers and hookups all working for $10 no yellowing. (I had to play with the pins to make it stop blinking. bent too far and now i only slide the games in, no pushing down to get them to load every time) Next house I got a SNES for $20 all hookups, 2 controllers no yellowing and the following games super mario all stars, top gear2, donkey kong country 2, donkey kong country, zelda link to the past, nhl96, super mario kart, vegas stakes, super mario world, stunt race, game genie with box /manual . Manuals for all the games and some big mario borthers walkthrough/cheat book for every mario game. as well as an adapter i think that plays handheld games. grey looking game genie thing with a much smaller slot up top. a 2nd NES system for $25 with zapper, 2 controllers, hookups and power , all working no yellowing, with the following loose , black nintendo sleeved games : yoshi, tetris, dr mario, mario bros 1 , 2 ,3 , duck hunt, blades of steel, klax, paper boy 1 and 2, the great waldo, monopoloy Next house snes final fantasy ii for 99 cents. umm hello! Next house steering wheel/pedals for the n64 with force feedback etc. $5 Next House N64, 2 controllers, power, hookups and expansion/memory adapter and an SNES with all the hookups etc and controllers (Bottom is yellowing) for $15 total. No games and my last find a house i wasnt going to stop at but glad i did. 3 N64 games all for $5 total. Ogre battle 64, diddy kong racing and cruisin usa. they were also selling the n64 i mention below and wanted $25 for the whole lot with these games but i talked them into selling just the games. I only had 5 bucks left lol ---------------------------------------------- if i had more money i would have also grabbed playstation 1 for $10, 2 more n64 systems for $20 and $25 a piece, another snes system with 1 game hookups and controllers $20 as well as a gamecube with 5 games and all accessories for $40. Like i said my original intent was to visit 1 specific house for a NES system..ended up finding all these other sales and systems for sale..so wish i brought more money First time I found stuff at garage sales that werent asking ebay prices and today seemed like EVERYONE was selling that stuff. like it was a pre requisite for your sale. lol
  13. No longer looking for the system. Was lucky and found 2 at a garage sale this weekend for 15 dollars a piece Still looking for NES games though. Only have 10 or so that came with the systems. (Games I have) super mario 1, 2 ,3 duck hunt blades of steel monopoly great waldo paper boy 1 and 2 yoshi dr. mario klax and tetris. so pretty much everthing else i am looking for. if you arent expecting or wanting a BIG dollar for games Id be interested. Still looking for ROB the robot as well.
  14. Hey there, I'm looking for a Nintendo NES (toaster style that doesnt blink or has a new 72pin etc) , the hookups, power, 2 controllers. (All of which works) Not looking to spend a fortune and one with all the buttons, lid cover and in solid working condition. Doesnt have to have ROB or the zapper but if it does thats a bonus. I dont mind slight yellowing. Hopefully no cracks/chips etc. I'm also in Canada. PM if you have this and dont mind parting with it. Ebay prices are a tad steep for me.
