I have a used Atari SLM 605 Laser Printer being shipped to me. Used but worked last years ago before being packed away. Crap shoot if it works when I get it but it did power up for seller. If not, I purchased at a low price so I guess can have for parts if I find another one.
Until then, I own a TT030 with 8MB ST Ram and 2MB TT Ram. Will this drive the printer? Any special software I need to make it work?
I own Calamus 1.09 and PageStream 2.0.
Do I need special drivers to make it work?

Selling my BeBox so I can buy more Amiga goods.

BeBox are rare, only about 800 dual 133MHz models sold, so hardly ever come up for sale.
Here is the link.

Curious if anyone here considers their Atari to me the main computer of the household, one that gets most use for everyday computing.
Over on the Firebee threads Mathias appears to be heavily into Atari and not sure if it is considered his main system, but it appears that way.
Fascinates me that there may still be folks that use their Atari professionally or consider it their main system for day to day computing in this Internet based world.
I have such fond memories of Atari from when I purchased my first one, and Atari 800 in 1980 I believe. Purchased with my own paper route money and damn was it expensive for a tyke like me but I wanted one and thought Atari was best.
Then graduated to Atari Mega 2 ST in 1990 and that was my main system until around 1995. Was sad to see Atari moving away from the whole computer scene but I also liked Macs so moved onto Mac around that time.
I have fond memories of reading every single Atari magazine I could buy back then and really wanted to see Atari kick some butt. Alas it was not meant to be and they faded away. Really sad that the biggest video gaming company in the world at one time has become nothing but a shell of what it was. If they played their cards right they could have still been.
Anyway, it seems in some places outside of the USA Atari is still pretty cool in computing. Maybe Germany still has a nice little following of pro users? Not sure but curious of anyone here really uses Atari in this day and age professionally or at least as a day to day system to get work done.

Looking for fairly complete or near complete Atari based magazines. Whether it be STart, STLog, Antic, you name them.
If you have a large collection you are looking to sell of, keep me in mind. Don't mind paying fair pricing but not the crazy prices people put single issues for on eBay which never sell anyway.
Hit me up with what you have and your price for the whole lot.
Thanks

Only have SM124 Mono Monitors remaining. Do have a SC1224 but is the model with no built in data cable so can't test it. Supposed to work but can't confirm. Will sell this SC1224 for $15 + shipping. Depending where you are shipping can be fairly cheap (about $22 + price of box large enough to ship it in) and up. Might be worth a chance on it. Can take picture of this SC1224 if interested. tj

For sale is a nice clean running Atari 520ST Computer. Case is in nice non yellowed condition and looks pretty good. The keys have a very slight yellowing on them that the attached picture over plays and in the room and natural light does not look at all in my opinion. I would give it a solid 8.5 out of 10 on cosmetics. The sale is for the 520ST alone and will not include any power supply, cords, mice, etc... Would be perfect as a replacement for your bad one or to use the nicer case for your badly yellowed model or as backup in case yours ever dies. Selling for $75 + shipping. This is a 110v for USA model. Will send to USA and Canada only at this time although will entertain other locations but be advised air shipping overseas is crazy high. Prefer it stay in USA or Canada at this time. Will take a picture of it running and maybe a quick video for buyer so they know in advance it runs. It will be sold as is though but happy to show it running via video before I sell it so you can rest assured it should work for you. I am located in northern California and local pickup is also fine.
I do have a nice SM124 Monitor I can sell with it for $50 if interested. If buying the 520ST and Monitor I would throw in a yellowed mouse free that at least will work for you. All you would need at that point is a 520ST p/s and you are set.

Hi, I have some extra good used Atari Mono Monitors I am selling at $50 each + postage. At this time will only ship to USA and maybe Canada via ground service. Email me address and I can get a shipping quote. All the monitors are in good condition, not badly yellowed like most you see, so let me know what you need. Located in northern California so if you are near Sacramento, you can also pick them up. Two attached picture links are of the actual monitor. One showing it connected and running on a 520ST and the other in better lighting so you can see the case is not all yellowed.
Tom in Northern California.

Cool stuff. Hope it all goes to a good home. I was considering the Megafile but looking for a non yellowed one for not. Thanks though for the message back on what you had and hope you sell it all soon. tj

interested in the JagCD. Would pay $100 for it. Tj
I have several hard-to-find Jaguar items for sale. Please PM me if you are interested.
1) BattleSphere classic original release
This includes the cartridge in very good shape, the box in mediocre condition (some scuffs and a couple of minor tears), a keyboard overlay in very good condition, and a printed copy of the manual. The cart is tested and works great. See photos at the bottom.
2) JagCD drive add-on
This includes the JagCD drive, an aftermarket power supply, and several games: Blue Lightning, Myst, Baldies, Vid Grid, Native demo, and several homebrew copied discs such as Jag500 coding competition, etc. Please note that the World Tour Racing game, being somewhat rare, is sold separately.
3) World Tour Racing
This includes the original disc, manual, and box. I can sell with the JagCD above or separately.
4) Painter Special Edition #17
This includes the cartridge, the manual, the box, and the keyboard overlay. All are in great shape.
5) MadBodies
This includes the cartridge, the manual, and the plastic case. All are in great shape.
6) Iron Soldier Beta reproduction
This includes only the reproduction cartridge.
If interested please make me an offer. Remember to factor shipping from Canada into your offer. As I will not ship these without tracking and insurance, that may prove expensive to some locations. PM me with any questions you may have. Photos are below.
Thanks for reading!

I feel the PPC line was the direct path from 68000 series so makes sense to me that Amiga went that way. After all, Apple did also and are still in business today. I personally like PPC. Run cool and plenty fast IMHO. Tj

I'm pretty sure I'd be interested in OS4 if I'd have grown up with an Amiga. It's cool that it's out there, but it's not really relevant to me, and I was just wondering if it would be to the original poster. If there was an Atari counterpart, I'd be interested. But on the other hand, I've never even upgraded the TOS chips on my STs (and I've had the bags of ROMs kicking around for a year), so I probably wouldn't be too interested, as these computers are toys.
I went to the AmiWest Amiga show in Sacramento USA this last October and enjoyed my day learning and exploring the Amiga. Amazing there is actually an event like this in the USA for a platform like Amiga. Took me back to the days of WOA (World Of Atari) shows. I did that show down in SoCal and always enjoyed these events. So, when I had the chance to go to a smaller show like this, on an actual platform that grew with Atari in the olden days, I jumped at it.
I don't think Amiga OS 4.x is trying to be an Amiga of old and most I think just leave the retro stuff to the older Amigas. But, I see some slick stuff, at least IMHO, with these Amiga systems of new. The OS 4 platform does many things I do today, but not all. I need Skype for example and no chance there for Amiga OS that I know of. But, being able to do decent web browsing (acceptable at least for eBay and stuff like that), email, watch videos, play movies, do video work, the Amiga platform of OS 4 seems to handle that pretty nicely. Sure, not as well as maybe a super duper Mac or Windows machine but then again, it is in the eyes of the beholder.
I have my retro systems already, I have my Macs too, but would be sweet to have a system where there is a smaller community, where everyone knows your name (NORM hehehe), and that there is still good activity in the group with some advancements, even if not up to todays standards. It is both fun and functional at the same time.
I guess I see part of what I liked then and like today with Atari in this Amiga platform. There are some nuts for sure in both platforms but I have no issue pushing that stuff aside. I am only a hour away from an actual Amiga User Group that still holds monthly meets. You hardly see that for Atari, at least that I know of in USA. Amiga just don't die off it seems, they are still trying to update, have some machines that do cool stuff, and is still kind of retro.
Like I said, I love Atari for what it was and I enjoy using mine now. But, I do yearn for something more that the Atari does not offer me anymore (more power) but is not the Mac or Windows or Linux platform. Amiga seems to fit the spot so I may have to explore it more. Just a cross-roads I am at is all.

I know this is a Amiga site so all will say Amiga but still curious.
Did you take a wrong turn or...

Sorry, corrected typo. hehehe

I am a bit torn on my next purchase. I was raised on Atari from my 1st Atari 800 until early 90s when I switch to the Mega 2 ST. Then a few years later bailed and joined the pro world of USA and switched to a Mac while some moved onto Windows PCs. Mac felt like a better switch and that is what I use today.
Been collecting all sorts of older Ataris and enjoy using them. Even purchased some Amigas and tinkered. The Amigas did not feel the same in my heart so I sold them all to concentrate on collecting and use all sorts of Ataris.
I am torn though because I want to get a more powerful what I consider alternative computer platform, would prefer Atari, but in my opinion, the Amiga platform has the most going for it these days in terms of being useful for everyday computing. I like the new FireBee and all but I must face it, the AmigaOS 4.1 can do all sorts of things for everyday computing that as of today, the Atari can't. Things like real work web browsing, playing videos and dvd, etc... The FireBee looks cool but it is only 266MHz so I can't see that system doing video and multimedia stuff like a more powerful Amiga can.
Thing is, I am just not into Amiga as much. I love my old memories of Atari and wished that the Atari platform had a faster system and more apps that are targeted at everyday computing. I think even Amiga is not quite there but much closer. I get this sense of real joy when using the Atari but in the back of my mind, I want the extra power to do everyday stuff. I feel the Amiga is about there and although my heart is not in it (as much at least), maybe over time it can be.
Anyway, just wanted to stress my mind at the moment. hehehe. Get a FireBee or get a new Sam based Amiga.
What would you all do. I know this is a Atari site so all will say Atari but still curious.
Maybe the FireBee will really stir the Atari community and some new great apps for modern computing like NetSurf and better video playback apps, etc?

It will all go into the trash before I take that offer.
Nice.
BTW: I had a super tough time getting rid of my MegaST 2 here or otherwise. Ended up parting it out on ePay. Piece by piece literally and I was "patient". Good luck buddy!
I am on the opposite side of the spectrum. Most items I try to buy are boxed more minty systems. I paid $300 for one up in Washington and since I was taking a vacation up there within 30 miles or so, I picked it up. Was Mega 2 ST, keyboard, mouse, manual, original box, SC1224 with original box. No yellowing. Was my first ST when I purchased one in 1990 so was willing to pay out my ass for a mint one. I am stupid that way. grin.
Turn around I had a spare Mega 2 ST by itself with no keyboard or mouse, just the running box ( I made a view to prove it worked when I sold it on eBay) and sold it for $50 + shipping I think.

Purchased a fun book called Hello World that is mostly for kids but even is great for adults also wanting to learn about programming. To me seems a more powerful and current programming language compared to old Basic I played with as a kid. Would like to see if the Atari platform has a Python programming language?
Is it fairly up to date or real old version?
I have version 2.5 on my Mac and appears I can go up to 2.7.x or 3.x on my Mac but would be nice if I can take some of what I learn and program something in an old Atari ST/TT.

If splitting up, I would be interested in the CD Rom unit and a few game CDs.
Let me know what price for the CD Rom and then I will see how many games I can afford from there.
