  1. Thanks for clarification, I saw PMD 85 at Forever- really astonishing piece of hardware
  2. Maybe I didn't express myself too clearly, sorry a) Yes, that's debatable whether the game is changed significally but I think the decision is in the hands of ABBUC, so we should respect that, alhough if they would have decided otherwise I wouldn't have anything against it. I think you should really post a screenshots or a video (better option) of the game, then everything should be clear. b) Again, I didn''t want to offend you, I'm just trying to figure out what was the reason behind this particular rule. c) Nothing wrong with that, don't get me wrong. It's great that you are trying to improve your games, you got my sword. d) Yes, "standard" was a wrong word, I meant "rule". The game itself most likely meets the standards of a good game, that's for sure. Please show us the game so we could decide for ourselves
  3. of course I don't mean that there was no effort during making the game, it's great you folks doing something new for Atari, thank you, I just wanted to share my opinion, but I understand it could be a little bitter decision, I would feel the same I it was my game that was revoked
  4. I think this discussion is a little bit irrational...I mean the rules are clear and everyone who wants to participate knows them. Look at Matosimi- he was able to write game in a FEW DAYS and his submission was still accepted. I think it's all about fun and creativity, making the same game again but with changed graphics is not very creative. That's probably the psychological trait of 8BitJunkie that he wants to improve his programs ( vide all the versions of Dimo's Quest), but I think there's no doubt that the game doesn't meet the standards. (I might be wrong since I haven't seen the program, 8BitJunkie and 1NG please provide us with screenshots)
  5. Thanks for the estimation, I can agree with that. Speaking of Poland: there are probably 200-300 Atari owners, maybe more, there are over 3000 ppl registered on both polish Atari forums. Really? That small? I'm visiting Forever party at Slovakia every year and I always thought that Slovakia is mainly Atari and Spectrum country...what about Atariada party?
  6. This topic is interesting for me, I can only estimate number of users in Poland, but have no idea what's the situation in other parts of the world whatsoever. Particularly I'm interested in estimated number of Atari homecomputers' users in United States, since this site is more America oriented. edit: I tried to ask Lotharek, but he didn't want to share his customers' number, from what I know Incognito board, which was probably mostly popular in States, was sold to 200 ppl.
  7. Oh so I was wrong, im often mad at myself for being too confident:)
  8. That's definitely not atari 8 bit game...if you look closely the ball moves too smooth for 320x240 resolution, it's more like 640x480 in my book.
  9. I try to remember german language by reading news in german, but it's much easier for me as a pole to learn russian language, many similarities, german is hard although I learn it in school and in the university for 6 years
  10. You assembled everything on Atari? That's stunning! Could you be so kind and reveal some screenshots from the game?
  11. Thanks for information freetz, good luck to everyone, good to see that Ski-it made it to the contest
  12. good luck TheRealBountyBob, fingers crossed, you will make it!!!
  13. great, I've heard that Mapa&PG plus Fandal plus probably also TheRealBountyBob are also contributing this year
  14. Thanks for your feedback, carlsson. I will consider that and probably apply to the game since many people suggested me it would be more natural, but changing the direction of the road on the fly could be a little problematic. It requires altering some serious chunk of code.
  15. I'm currently working ona game for contest, it's progressing nicely, should be finished before deadline. Now the question for Freetz: is it possible to show the gameplay of the game on art festival in October without breaking the rules?
  16. good idea, It's just a matter of altering one byte in code
  17. nice score, speaking of lines, if I understood you correctly the space between lines is too small...I've prepared a version in which the checkboard scheme of road changes less often, I will probably publish it some day soon edit: New version of game will be surely released but not now, but probably at the end of year or in 2019
  18. Hello, I've got a question regarding this year's rules, does the rules from last year apply to this year's edition? http://www.abbuc.de/images/software/contest2017/ABBUC_SWC_Rules_2017.pdf
  19. I hope to contribute to this year's contest, nothing special though, I'll have only one month
  20. thank you guys for the remarks, it's very helpful . for now I'm working on 2 things- adding a background elements that won't collide with the sprites nor the rope, and adding the deadly fire on the floor just like in Montezuma. @CharlieChaplin: the filesystem of the game is a normal binary file with MEMLO at $2000 so if Retronics will decide to share the file it will work on HDD and 3xSIO alright
  21. Hello! Probably most of you already saw this trailer, but I want to put it here, because I need feedback- I need information what can be improved, added to the game, so the game is more playable. The game will be available by the end of summer at Retronics.
  22. thanks, will check it out on Atari later on
