  1. So you sent your Vecvox to a German language course.
  2. Wow, can´t wait to see the final game! I like the title For whatever reason sometimes also Japanese games use German titles or at least some German words in their titles and I always find it funny to see that.
  3. The only minor issue I see with the F18A is that it gets harder then to capture gameplay footage as I cannot use a dirt cheap USB stick any more to capture a VGA signal. Whenever I check the F18A web page it says "out of stock", so let´s see when it will be available again.
  4. Wow great a new Vectrex homebrew game! Awesome!
  5. I also would like to have one. I just got a new NanoPEB and I hope this one will live longer than my previous one and it works nice, but sometimes I would just prefer a multicart to play some game. I saw one on eBay once but it was too expensive for me.
  6. From what I know you can use a component cable for HD TVs on the European TI 99 model and connect it directly to the modulator plug, but unfortunately I don´t have such a TV at home.
  7. Now I had some time to make a video showing my Nintedo Virtual Boy collection. The Virtual Boy is my 2nd favorite gaming system after the Vectrex. I uploaded also a version of the video in 3D. Video in standard 2D: http://youtu.be/-YQkbhGBh98 Video in 3D (3D glasses required): http://youtu.be/SaJHv0TsvuQ
  8. Great! So you can create your own speech samples and sound effects for your own TI 99 games. Awesome stuff.
  9. Finding TI 99 stuff in my country can get a bit expensive unfortunately as you don´t see that stuff in the wild. I guess in the US you may find that still at some garage sales.
  10. That game looks awesome, how can I still live without a Colecovision? One day I will get one and then I will regret I have not bought this great homebrew title.
  11. John, if you want to see the AtariVox+ in action, here is how it works: It is a neat little device. Your VecVox has a speaker if I remember correctly from your order page? Does it come in a case where the speaker is built in? Just curious how that looks as I have not seen a photo on your web page.
  12. I expected that with the speech editor I have even access to the phonems or certain "components" of the speech synthesizer vocabulary, as with Extended Basic I only had access to full words if I remember correctly and could not build my own words. I didn´t look into the capabilities of the TE2 cartridge yet what I can do with that.
  13. It is never too late. I have some home computers standing around and ready to go. A C64, ViC 20, and also a ZX 81 and ZX Spectrum +2 and I all like them a lot, but I always come back to the TI 99 playing some Parsec or Tombstone City. Can´t wait when I get my new nanoPEB, as my old one stopped working and there is this awesome new homebrew title out there called TI Scramble. I love that game!
  14. Ah thanks, that makes sense. I remember back in the 80´s I thought that maybe I could plug in some kind of vocabulary update but never saw one in the shops. I just got the Terminal Emulator 2 cartridge recently and when I have some time I have to look into what I could do with it in combination with the speech synthesizer. There was also some speech editor cartridge available but I don´t have that and never found a ROM file for it.
  15. Extended Basic was pretty easy to use as it had quite powerful commands for sprites. I had a lot of fun developing my own games back then.
  16. Interesting stuff, thanks for showing this. MBX unit would be also on my "want have" list, but I doubt I would get the financial approval from Mrs. Vectrexroli for that. Now as I have contact to all the TI experts here in the forum: I was always wondering about the door on the front of the original silver speech synthesizer. Is this some kind of plug for something? I didn´t find anything about that in the manual.
  17. Never saw one in real so I don´t know if the beige looks "cheap", but still would be nice to have one in the collection. Maybe TI planned to bring equipment on the market later that had the same beige look?
  18. The beige model also looks great, I am not sure if it was available in my country. Yeah, I heard about the fact it is not compatible to some 3rd party games, that´s the only downside of that machine. Do you think the keyboard feels cheaper on the beige version or is the only difference the color?
  19. John, I did some tests and here the results: In all cases I used the 3D Narrow Escape wheel on both imagers. 1) Original games on cartridges including Fury homebrew titles "Lord of the Robots" and "3D Sector-X". (I don´t have "Vector21" on original cartridge, where "3D Star Fury" is included.) Result: Work fine on both original and Madtronix imager. 2) Downloaded "Lord of the Robots" and "3D Star Fury" part of "Vector 21" from George´s web page http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m3_1.htm Installed those 2 titles on my Vecflash Flashcart and also a ROM image of "3D Narrow Escape". Result: "3D Narrow Escape" works fine on both imagers, but the 2 homebrew titles don´t work with my Vecflash. On both imagers the color wheel does not start spinning. So it could be either an issue with the Flashcart or maybe something is different with the downloaded versions of the Fury games. When I responded to Greg2600 above that the 3D homebrew games worked on my Vecflash, I seemed to mix something up here. I thought I tested that one, but I guess I started some original 3D games from my Multicart back then. I don´t have a newer Vecmulti yet (I am on Richard´s waiting list for that) so I cannot tell if there is any difference in the behaviour.
  20. Interesting, do you mean you don´t see the 3D effect or don´t you see anything at all? The reason why I am asking is because I have one Crazy Coaster color wheel for the original official 3D imager in my collection that has a production fault and the index hole for the sync signal is on the wrong side of the wheel. When using this wheel you get a picture with the imager, but no 3D effect and the colors are wrong and I was wondering if this is the same issue you now describe here. Here in my video you can see the faulty wheel at 12:49: http://youtu.be/gCQ-L12g8c4?t=12m49s
  21. Great to hear! The spinning disc at your nose is at least much better than the vibrations you get on your nose with the original 3D imager. I never could play the original one for long.
  22. Well that sounds like there is either a problem with your 3D Imager or the input port on the Vectrex for the 2nd controller. If I remember correctly button 4 is used for the sync input from the imager, so if you find a 2 player game that uses button 4 you can test if the 2nd controller port on your Vectrex is OK. Or you could try to connect a 2nd controller instead of the imager and repeatedly pressing down on button 4 to see if you get a picture after some time. If this works fine, it is the imager or the cable of the imager.
  23. 1: Don´t see any reason why it shouldn´t. I have the older Vecflash, but the Vecmulti should work as well. When no imager is connected the screen goes blank. 2. In my Youtube review I mentioned that Lord of the Robots can be downloaded. Here the link: http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m3_1.htm
  24. Thanks a lot! Spike´s Circus is really great. My review was more a "first impressions" kind of thing, there is much more behind this title than I showed.
