Wouldn't this just be a fance emulation scheme? That's what all the things are. But, I'd buy one.
FPGA would simulate the real hardware, it would not be emulation of the hardware using software.
-
I voted no. I don't mind expansions on the existing TI like SAMS and the F18A, but developing an entire new platform is like, well, is it a TI anymore at that point?
As long as it runs the old hardware on FPGA, I would think so, yes.

I think they did many things right when specifying that Spectrum Next, it runs old software, you can even load from tape if you want and use old hardware add-ons, you can connect VGA and HDMI, but you can also run modern enhanced software. You can run old software faster at 7 MHz. Also important, there are well known game developers behind that project.
It is also important how that system looks, it still should keep some important design elements of the original.
For a TI-99 Next I would wish it would run in TI-99/4A mode and 99/8, maybe also something more modern. Speech synthesizer and P-Code on board would be great, but I guess that could end up in legal issues with TI unfortunately. A flashdrive solution should be built in.

Awesome video. Definitely want stramash zone but dont see any info about a release date on his site. The overlay is probably the coolest I have ever seen.
I guess Jim does not know an exact release date yet for Stramash Zone.

Great video, even Arcadeshopper, Tursi and Omega are there.

Great to see all those guys on video!

Here I show you new Vectrex homebrew games, overlays, hardware and much more!
First we will start with a nice looking version of the light pen program Mail Plane, we will have a look at some modern repro screen overlays, we will try out the homebrew games VecZ, 3D Vector Space Cab and Mitnal, I will show you replacement springs and new overlays for your Vectrex controllers, we will see a so called “debuzz kit” for your Vectrex, we will have a look at the game Stramash Zone, we will have a quick look at one issue of the Vectorbolt magazine, we will check out the Bits´n´Bytes games collection, the homebrew games Karl Quappe and Release and last but not least we will have a look at small nice looking boxes for Vectrex game cartridges.-

By the way, there was a version of Flappy Bird for the 1292 APVS last year. I haven't quite figured out who programmed it, but it might be the first homebrew in many years.
More info here (scroll down): http://tempect.de/senil/games.html
Yes that´s the same Interton version I showed on my video and that gentleman from Germany commented on my video on Youtube saying that there is even a new updated version available now.

As now everyone is declaring interest and as I know how awesome the Flashrom99 already is, I want the say again, that I want one.

I am new to the Vectrex and was hoping to get some copies of Vectrexians and Vector Pilot! Unfortunately I cannot reach Kristof Tuts' website using this link after multiple attempts on different days (?).
Does anyone know if his website has moved elsewhere or if there is another way to contact him to get these games? Thanks for your thoughts!I guess that has to do with your Firewall or other kind of protection software as that URL often triggers some security alerts. Link still works fine for me.

Got my Flashrom directly from Ralph and I have it running for hours on my European TI-99, so I am pretty sure that there are no design flaws that will kill your computer. What always could be is that something is wrong with your specific Flashrom version you got.

Roli, interesting video, thanks for sharing. I like that someone is still writing for this system, and I will have to have a look in more detail at his source code for flappy bird.
What was the name of some of those games on your video after Leapfrog? There were several that I hadn't seen. Maybe they never made it to the UK? Do you know who and where they were written? One looked like Defender. I was actually working on a version of that before I left Voltmace. There was another space invader type game that had diagonally firing lasers. I would be interested to learn how they achieved that.
That game is called Super Space, but don´t know any details:

Leapfrog is definitely one of the better games as it feels "more modern" than most other titles.

Here some video about that Interton VC 4000 multicart and yes Leapfrog also runs on the VC 4000 and as carlsson already said for 1292 & 1392 systems you would have to build an adapter yourself.

Yes I am back on Facebook again, let´s see for how long.

Didn´t setup any fanpage though, due to lack of time I didn´t look into all those Facebook features and I guess that´s more interesting for big successful or commercial Youtube channels and not for super small hobby channels like mine.

Sure I did that, but no mail.

All the cool kids hang out here anyway, so can ditch Farcebook!

Can just set up misc. threads here when you have a new vid or something.

I will post my videos here anyway.

The only first real reason for me why I did join Facebook was the Vectrex Fans Unite Facebook group and it is an easy way to get in touch with all the developers out there that make all that great stuff for Vectrex, Atari Lynx, Sinclair ZX Spectrum, TI-99, Amiga and all the other systems.

Thanks for caring about that, my wife always says I have no friends, so I can proof that there are at least a few people that did realize that my Facebook account was gone.

I didn´t get any message, reason or anything from Facebook, it just was gone and I could not log in again.
I don´t think it has something to do with I.P.s or anything like that, the soulless bots working for Facebook don´t really know what a Vectrex should be I guess.
I also think that Facebook would not really really take notice of a public outcry from the 10 people watching my little hobby channel on Youtube, but I really appreciate that you had that idea Gemintronic.

I could not setup another Facebook account yet, maybe I need a new email address first or something? But I will give it a try when I have more time.

Would it be too much to ask just to avoid all that unnecessary "communication noise" here? So we can all be sure, when we get a notification e-mail it is likely that we can order now.
And in case it will never happen, we cannot change it anyway.
Thanks!
