FS: System Fairchild (Channel F) homebrew Pac-Man.
vectrexroli replied to e5frog's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I have a question: Is it fine to use your multicart also in an ITT Telematch-Processor, or should you not try that if you got an older version of the multicart? -
If it needs to be a VecMulti and no other Vectrex flash- or multicart, I have seen on the "Vectrex Fans Unite!" Facebook group that Martijn from RevivalStudios is selling his Vectrex collection and there he is offering also a VecMulti. Don´t know if it is sold already though.

Wow, great collection you have there! I don´t want to "hijack" this thread, but out of interest, you also have that VFD Pacman game and I cannot read the name on it on the photo. What does it say on your sticker? Here in my country, in Austria, they were Tomy branded and were called "Puckman": -

As I got a desoldering gun from China I wanted to try to replace the 7805 voltage regulator with a TracoPower TSR 1-2450. This is a tiny 5V DC-DC converter version that is pin compatible to the 7805, but it only can handle 1A, which seems to be fine for the Super AMS board. Works fine for me so far and it does not get even warm, I have not experienced any negative side effects so far, but I tested it only for a few hours. I am NOT encouraging anyone to replace the 7805 on his board, there is nothing wrong with that design decision, so there is nothing to "fix" here, I even felt bad touching that beautifully built board. I only wanted to check out if that solution would work.

Please don´t throw around your balls here. -
I just wanted to share some photos with you of the 3D printed case I got today for my Mateos burner device. The Burner fits in nicely, at least the later version I got, I also put some thin plastic foil in there so that it does not mover around. the burner in the case also works with my other Mateos carts for the Vectrex and the Atari Lynx. As expected I cannot use the burner in the case on my Mateos Videopac cart, because there is not much space left there, but of course it would work on a Videopac cart without a case. You can get the 3D printed case from the AtariAge forum member c0d3m4st4, or you can get it also from eBay or also from the Mateos Web page.

I don´t know PC99Disk, but the translation for error 1 would be something like "Error when accessing system registry" and error 2 means something like "Unxpected error, program will be terminated". Maybe you have to use it in admin mode?
-
Yes, I use it from time to time on my Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I use version 6.2a.

You can see Parcel Panic around 13:20 in this video here:

You don´t need to hack the Hyperchase code, you can use a modded Atari paddle controller: http://www.playvectrex.com/vectech/apaddle/apaddle_f.htm There was even a controller available for that game made by George from Furry Unlimited, it was called "Overdrive Controller" which you can see in this vieo here:
-
I guess you just can use one of those clear screen protectors. I use them on my GPS, video camera, 3DS and mobile phone, but it should work also on the Lynx I guess.
-
I didn´t measure if it is exactly like the original cart, but I don´t see much of a difference. I switch it on and the game starts on my PAL console. The games seem to behave normal from what I can tell.

Finally I had some time to put the Atari 7800 Multigame Cartridge into a proper case, was much easier than with the Videopac/Odyssey2 cart. I also put a Pokey sound chip in the cartridge, so the one I bought from Lotharek / Poland seems to work fine, I have both music and sound effects in Commando and Ballblazer. http://www.lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=136 The nice looking Atari 7800 logo on the label I have stolen from the Web: www.gameex.info/…/top…/12408-logos-banner-logos-the-revenge/.

If it could only be printed in a way that it does not look that ugly...
-
I used them in my Sinclair ZX 81 and Spectrum machines and they worked fine there. Some people say they got issues with some gaming consoles, things like a "noisy" video sginal, but don´t know if that´s true.

I guess it would be also possible to use a DC-DC converter instead of the standard 7805 + heat sink? If the board needs less than 1A something like the TSR 1-2450 here might work?: http://www.tracopower.com/products/browse-by-category/show/dc-dc-converters/sip-package/tsr-1/1/
