I'm completely sold out. I've had to order more PCB's. I will build carts up over Xmas and they will be back early January. Thanks for your interest.

Not very No Excellent - thankyou ! I've PM'ed the source

I need to have a Mac version of the menu compiler. Anyone willing to convert my PC Pascal code (Delphi) to Mac ? There's a free cart in it for you. Thanks

Thankyou, I try my best I've just about sold out of the batch I made. Hoping to get more PCB's ordered this week (China) and build up carts over the Xmas holidays. Sean (Kelly) is having some more cart cases made, so hopefully my batch will also get here at same time.

Let me get back to you. I need to first find a quick and precise way of cutting the hole for the USB socket and removing the connector from the donor cart. The way I do it at the moment is MUCH too time consuming. BTW would anyone be up for doing the casing themselves ?

Is there a VCR in the room ? Check the tape slot

I make a VirtualBoy flash cart (aka FlashBoy). Plastic cutting is something I'm really crap at doing. But more than that, the cases are expensive now and I've ruined lots of them using the stanley knife method I just can't achieve the precision finish I want, it just makes the rest of the cart look ugly. I like the sound of that qmax cutter, I'll look into that. It includes part of the edge, which does make it a bit easier.

Is it possible to have a tool made which will cut a custom sized cut-out in plastic a few mm thick ? I need something to quickly/cleanly cut a 8mm x 8mm square in a VirtualBoy cart shell (see pic). It would also need to be easy to position it exactly 34mm from each edge. Thanks Cart_cutout.bmp

I'm still making them. What restricts the availability is the fact that we have to use existing carts as donors of the connector and case. Even the common games have gone way up in price recently. I'm thinking of now building them on a 'one by one' basis. You send me the donor cart, I build and case the PCB, and I return it to you. They'll be no fancy box, just the cart (labelled), cable and drivers.

If you can't find anyone local, I'll do it (I'm in the UK)

Pat over at Planet VirtualBoy is planning on getting some link cables made. The cables (and the port) were never used during the VB's short life. The main use will be linking of consoles for 2 player games. But there's other interfacing uses too. Please show your interest and help make it happen. Thanks

I don't, sorry. I know some guys where working with Alex at the time, I think Rob Mitchell was one of them IIRC. Try putting a post on rec.games.vectrex, I'm sure someone on there may still have the code.

I bet money on it being the NC7NZ17, it's positioned just behind the socket.

Are the traces still attached to the PCB ? Chad sent me all the MMC card holders he had, a part which has been discontinued. Give me a shout if you need one. I think I also have some of the small chips too.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of adding 'modern' stuff like WiFi and Ethernet to an 80's console. When I made the Vec / Atarivox I searched for a long time for a speech chip with the right sounding voice for the era. A guy did make a PS/2 interface for the Vec. Keyboards are a bit silly as it can't display much text without major screen wobble. But a mouse would be good for games like Patriots(missile command).

There's more info somewhere, but this from the inventor Alex Herbert. Alex disapeared a while back, I don't know what happened to him. I do know he was having some health problems at the time. It's a real shame because the guy was a genius at coding / electronics.

Yes Those are easy compared to the 48-pin TSOP on the FlashBoy cart. Yes, you just need a lead connecting the 2nd controller ports of both machines. There's a wiring diagram and some demo code around somewhere. I wouldn't know where to start

Yes. I don't want to get more orders than I have carts built. I like to have them sitting here ready to send when someone PayPal's me.

Patience, it's very close As Mat will tell you, it does work. Well, it did until I broke the firmware today Try and get it working again over the weekend. Then that's it, final version. BTW I have a nice label for it now.

It was made by Bandai and is the rarest Vectrex. Also, the games were the same but renamed for the Japanese market.
