  1. Yet without the hard work and diligence of programmers like you, my work would just be for show. Illya
  2. This Alien was all I can find the time for right now. It more closely matches that of the Arcade version: The colors of the Alien are as follows - From Left to Right: Alien Frame 1 $D6 $D8 $D6 $D4 $D6 $D8 $D6 $D6 $D4 $D6 $D8 $46 $D6 $D4 $D6 $D8 $D6 $D4 $D6 $D4 Alien Frame 2 $D2 $D4 $D6 $D8 $D6 $D4 $D6 $D8 $D6 $46 $D4 $D6 $D4 $D6 $D6 $46 $D6 $D8 $D6 $D8 $D6 $D4 Alien Frame 3 $D4 $D6 $D8 $46 $D8 $D6 $D4 $D4 $D6 $D8 $D6 $D8 $DA $D8 $DA $D8 $D6 $D8 $D4 $D6 $D4 $D4 As Always, make changes until you are happy with them. Glad I could help my friend. Thank you, Illya
  3. Whew, these took awhile to do. Mainly because I'm busy at work, other projects, and I'm flying out of the country in a few days to visit my gf for 3 weeks. Enlarged 3X: 1X: G&G Enemies Comparison Part1.zip Take care everyone, Illya
  4. Wow, you've done a great job with Xenophobe so far. I'm heading out of the country to visit my gf in a few days so I'm quite distracted atm, but I'll see what I can do. Illya
  5. I had two ideas for using more than one button that you could try. This one is just a rewiring of a Genesis controller but there is some theory there. Also in Post #4 RevEng adds some of his valuable information: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/185192-controller-mod/ This one is a complete circuit that requires building. Post #3 has the correct circuit as I messed up in Post #1: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/187008-atari-2600-paddle-as-joystick-with-2-buttons/ Illya
  6. With that logic, there's no excuse for Ghosts 'N Goblins 2600 to not be made.
  7. You've come to the right place. You should put a price on those sprites! The cost... The game must be made for the actual 2600 as well! It would be great if this were made into a real Atari 2600 game. Since cartridges are somewhat limited to a specific size, what if a game was made to span across several cartridges. For example, the first cart would be levels 1-3, second cart would be levels 4-6, etc. Perhaps even make it similar to those Xonox Double Ender ones where the cart would just flip over to play the other levels. One day perhaps the sprites will come at a price, but for now the name of the game in this thread is 'free' Thank you And stay tuned, there's more on the way. Illya
  8. Aurthur from Ghosts 'n' Goblins Comparison shown at 3X size. I was working off of what I thought was a complete sprite rip, but 2 frames were missing and I had to go and get them myself : 1X size: G&G Authur Comparison.zip Illya
  9. How about a different looking face. Does Aurthur look better with or without a nose? Illya
  10. Hey, You've come to the right place. To answer your last question first; In order to attach pictures / files, when posting a message you'll have to click the "More Reply Options" Button. That will bring you to a more robust post editor where you'll have the option of attaching stuff and even previewing your message before posting (A life-safer for some of us) I think there's a bit of tweaking left to do on Authur, but here's what I have so far: Still: Running: He's only 4 animation Frames in total, but he cycles through 6 frames as in the arcade. Like this: Frame1 - Frame2 - Frame3 - Frame 4 - Frame3 - Frame2 He's purple because when I fed his image into the Atari 2600 palette, it was a closer match. But I could easily change it to a gray color. Illya
  11. Eeerr uhhh... yah. Yah here you go :
  12. You really need to start getting paid for this stuff Looks awesome. -B That's a great idea! But my only payment is in the form of praise and thanks, and a free cartridge here and there and that keeps me happy. Wow! Those look great! I will get you some autographs for your help. I accept! Autographs would be awesome. Here's a titlescreen I did for fun: The Addams Family Titlescreen.zip Thanks again guys, Illya
  13. How's this? I tried to keep them at the same scale height wise and of course the same color : Illya
  14. @ Propane13 - Thank you. I think this next installment of Contra related sprites will be all the Contra stuff I can do right now as I've become busy with other projects. So here we go: Enjoy, Illya
  15. Last time on Free sprites for the taking... I decided to leave Bill at a single-wide pixel sprite as well as see what he would look like as a double-wide sprite(and in two cases a quadruple wide sprite). Also, some of the double-wide sprites vary slightly when compared to their single-wide counterparts because things just looked too different when going to double-wide sprites. Anyway, here they are: Illya
  16. I adjusted the colors to the Atari palette, made some minor changes to my first drawing and finished all of the screens of Dracula's Chamber: HAPPY NEW YEAR! Illya
  17. Just my 2 cents(all I have left after the holidays), but could a RAM buffer be programmed to help with handling the data? Illya
  18. I think I did this right... I was just experimenting with the 78 scanline layout, and lemme tell ya... it's not easy, but then again it's not too difficult either just time consuming: Illya
  19. I have a light gun... it's in a drawer somewhere. Illya
  20. Here's a utility that may also help: "Stake is a Windows-based level editor for the NES ROM, Castlevania. It was developed using Delphi 6, on the Windows XP operating system. It supports the many versions of Castlevania, such as the european ROM, the american ROM, and even Akumajou Dracula - the special rerelease of the Japanese CV. It doesn't however, support the Famicom Disk System original of CV. (Yet )" http://www.zophar.net/utilities/neslevel/stake.html ROM not included. Illya
  21. This place has full level maps as well as enemy and object placement: http://vgmaps.com/Atlas/NES/index.htm#Castlevania Illya
  22. I still think the sprites, at the very least, could use an overhaul. PAC MAN RED, I bet, could definitely make some improvements. Mario doesn't look horrible, but Donkey Kong looks like a giant ginger bread cookie. Also, it would be nice to have the "How high can you go get?" screen and music proceeding the two boards. -B I think in order to do any justice to DK he really needs to be made of two 8-pixel wide sprites. Illya
  23. I'd imagine that some changes would probably need to take place and that a game like this wouldn't necessarily be the easiest to program, but then, where's the fun in that. Illya
  24. Here's a WonderBoy Level 1 Screen Comparison / 7800 Mock-up: And as a special bonus The entire level 1 layout for the arcade version of WonderBoy. Yay! If anyone finds any errors in this, feel free to correct them. Illya
