  1. Yeah, I guess I just assumed that it should work since its new and didn't try the obvious solution. I feel like a genius.
  2. Never played w/ a 7800 gamepad, but plugging a genesis controller into my 2600 is mandatory for me when playing joust or enduro. My thumb starts to hurt if I play those games w/ the joystick.
  3. For Christmas I got an unopened CIB copy of Defender. Today I finally got around to playing some Atari and couldn't get the damn thing to start up properly! I began to worry that something was wrong w/ my console so I tried some other carts but they worked just fine. I can't believe an unused brand new game won't work but I have no problems w/ my beat up old copy of centipede that looks like a dog played w/ it. Could this have come defective from the factory 30 years ago? Anyone ever hear of that happening before...or perhaps have some tips on how I might get it working?
  4. I only have two joysticks for my 2600 and am experiencing trouble w/ both. One of them does not respond in the up direction, and the other one is beginning to become less responsive in certain directions, which is how the problem w/ the other one began. Any tips? Also, I don't know if this makes a difference, but I should note that these are the controllers that were packaged w/ the ”JR.” 2600. Thanks in advance for any help.
  5. Thanks guys, I had my doubts because every time I've run the game through an emulator neither the keyboard nor my gamepad would respond to it.
  6. I was thinking of picking up a copy of arkanoid off eBay for my nes, but I was wondering do I need a vaus controller to play or will the regular d-pad work just fine? Thanks in advance to whoever has an answer for me.
  7. This is probably a dumb question, but when you pop in Yar's Revenge and start playing immediately without messing with the select switch, does it start on game 0 or game 2?
  8. I don't own any, but I have a William's "Smart Set" in my house that belongs to my roommate, made in 1969. It's in great condition, he wants to sell it and get something more modern, but everyone else in the house is trying to talk him out of it, we love playing it too much.
  9. I just got the same game for $10.99 off ebay, waiting for it to arrive in the mail.
  10. Every Seaquest cart I've played does that. I'm pretty positive that it's programmed that way.
  11. Ghostbusters and Space Shuttle will make you use the hell out of those, especially irritating if you own a Jr. 2600
  12. Van's Amusement Center - Puyallup, Wa (DEFUNCT)
  13. Canadian football is a joke...but I'm sure such a game would in fact find an audience, so why the hell not? Somebody should capitalize on that eventually. I love football games and I would give it a fair chance.
  14. I'm sad the original version of Fallout 3 was never finished. I haven't played Fallout 3 yet, I'm sure it's a great game, but I know I'll miss the turn based combat and overall feel of the first two, which the Van Buren project was following the formula of.
