  1. I did have success burning halo a few months ago using the exact same test board and EPROM type and also rom image. Have no idea what has changed since.
  2. Hey mate, I know this is late but I can tell you that you flash the cart with PAL firmware. Doesn't really matter as I use this on both my NTSC and PAL consoles. Only the games menu comes out a weird colour on the screen but games are all working perfect. Best thing for any Atari 2600 fan.
  3. Sure have. I have some new EPROMs on their way so I will test with those.
  4. Thanks Hellboy. I managed to source some games locally so for not I don't need anything.
  5. Hey guys, I have been playing around with burning eproms and installing them into 4kb game boards using a hex inverter. I made up a board with a socket on it for testing. I am using a 2732 eprom. I was successful with writing a few 4kb games like Enduro. I decided to try Halo 2600. It starts with the title screen but once I hit the fire button it shows the first screen and part of my character. I cannot move and it sounds like the gun is just firing. I re-read the eprom and it loads fine in my Harmony cart as well is in an emulator. It also compares exactly to the binary file. I have tried all version inclusing the PAL PAL60 and NTSC versions as I have both PAL and NTSC Ataris. Unfortunately I only have the one 2732 eprom at the moment so for each test I need to uv erase it. Anyone got any ideas of what could be going wrong? I have also tried a different 74LS04 hex inverter in case it was that causing the issues but its not. Attached is a picture I found on here somewhere showing exactly how I have my board setup.
  6. Damn Tapatalk published this twice. Sorry! Mods please delete this thread.

  8. As the title suggests looking for common 2600 games to make up into home brews. Labels can be screwed as they will all be replaced. Need the pcbs to have all their pins (12 per side). If you have anything let me know.
  9. Thanks for the input Ed. I have a new born in the house so not much sleep at the moment. That explains the spelling mistake. I will update the template with the more basic text and upload it. I will also do two types. One for NTSC and one for pal Will just be a change to the text where the game can run. Can't wait for the finished game!!
  10. I have no idea. Can easily update the box if someone can provide feedback of what should be a more accurate code.
  11. Here is what I have so far. The copy on the back is probably not the best but I have a photoshop template to modify the box whichever way people want.
  12. I actually have a box ready for the game. Was only called rally so I need to modify it and also add the namco logo to it somewhere. Will post up the box design shortly
  13. Hey Ed, Will you be making up a PAL60 version of this baby? Don't forget us in PAL land
  14. If you can work out postage to Melbourne Australia I could be interested.
  15. Hey guys, Any chance of a new link for this one?
  16. Got the SIDE2 last Friday and started playing around with it. What a polished piece of hardware. So easy to use. Just dumped my XEX archive onto the CF card and aware I went. Now I am looking at the Ultimate1MB upgrade. So from DOS can you access the CF card FAT32 partitions to mount the ATR images? Try to find an exact process to see if it is work getting one.
  17. OK. I have now purchased a SIDE2 cart so should have it in a couple of weeks. From what I have read it looks like exactly what I am looking for. One thing I could not find out was what is the max size for the CF cards that can be used? The manual only states minimum size and a recommended size. I brought a cheap 2GB CF card from eBay so hoping this will work OK.
  18. Excellent. Thanks for that. So when building it do I just leave it our and not connect the wires back to the PIC? If I did want to use the eeprom is there code for is somewhere?
  19. Thanks so much for this! I am interested in making up an AKI interface board for my XEGS machine. Just looking at the schematics but I am stuck just on one part. It mentions the PIC16C84 which the HEX is included in the zip but what do I do with IC2 (24C04)? Looked it up on eBay and looks like its a eeprom. What gets programmed on that one?
  20. Thanks is all I needed to know. Thanks candle. I will get the side. So just one more thing. Can i get most games in xex format? I am just concerned about disk images that cannot run on the side

  23. Ok. So the side will work no problems on my unexpanded xegs? As stated I do not have a keyboard yet. Can I use this without a keyboard? I am no stranger to setting up things like this.
