Niiiice. Now that you've posted a screengrab, you now have my attention. But you REALLY need to record your run (you'll need at least 2 tapes or one big-assed DVD) for Twin Galaxies. Bragging on AA is one thing. If you eventually break 2 or 3 mill, you'll want some kind of "offically recognized" score posted globally. In fact, with all of your talk about "unpaid professional gameplayer", do you have ANY high scores officially recognized at TG? Just curious...

As I recall, about 6 1/2 hours. Although the score starts ramping up exponentially, it eventually drops BACK to the lower-scoring levels again. So, even though you'll be getting 5,000+ points for each rescue further on in the game, around 800,000, it drops back down to 625 per rescue and the score-ramping-up starts over again. And I got the score on Halloween. It's the second time I earned the high score on Halloween. (The first time was when I grabbed the 1,000,000+ score.) Then I did 2,000,000+. I was planning on turning in a 3,000,000+ point score, but rjchamp apparently has beaten me to it.

Groovy! Then tell me - once and for all - what happens at 1,000,000 to show you that you rolled the score? What changes? Specific answers or you're just blowin' smoke, my friend.

It's actually 2,446,650, but thanks for the kudos! Actually, once Mike's speed maxes out, it don't get any faster. You just gotta make sure not to make any mistakes from that point on. But his speed maxes out around the 100,000 point mark, so if you can just learn his patterns and behaviors at that point, it's a matter of predicting where he'll turn up and avoiding those areas. And since the second-place record on TG is 145,800, I figured rjchamp has it locked and in the bag - if he ever turns in his self-proclaimed record of his 1,000,000+ run.

You did? Well, congrats! That would make you only the second person to do so. Not that I'm doubting your word, but you should really document this achievement and have it posted to Twin Galaxies. Granted, I'm still twice that, but you have really hammered yourself into the Second Place positions by many hundreds of thousands of points. I would think you'd want that posted. Oh, and if you HAVE broken 1,000,000, then you know the score rolls at 999,999. However, so the player knows he's broken 1,000,000, the programmers installed a nifty visual cue to let you know the score has rolled. You should be able to easily tell me what changes on-screen to mark the 1,000,000-point level. Actually, for me it's just to have fun playing a game I enjoy with someone who claims to be as good as I am. I did the same this with Stan Jr. and a game of Entombed several years ago. Trashed talked him for months. Had my ass handed to me. Respect? Notarity? Means nada to me. Thanks.. I plan to. And just post the 1,000,000+ visual cue when you get the chance - just so I know you're serious. And, if you're so inclined, be sure to post what the 2,000,000-point cue is - when you get there. You see, I've seen that too.

Hope you enjoyed the snow this year! Anyway, I've been the the VGC stores numerous times. Highest recommendations for them. There's a new place in Shelby Ohio called "Stickman's games." It's on the main drag, and is a bit of a hole-in-the-wall. (No signage, and you'll drive right past it unless you're looking for it.) But the guy carries a nice assortment of stuff from the 2600 on up. Saturn, Dreamcast, Genesis in the box, etc. Good prices too. Selection is OK, and store size is small. Great if you're local or an hour away, but not worth a drive across the state. Oh, and he doesn't take credit cards. Checks and cash only. (Nothing shady, he just doesn't want to pay CC fees.) EDIT: Duh, if you're in NJ, you gotta swing by the Digital Press Store. Very nice selection, very nice prices, and - obviously - caters to classic collectors as well as the modern stuff. You can, of course, modify your serahces on both to bring up a list of all 2600 carts ever released with both rarities and estimated values. And before you ask, I find both to be equally good and equally accurate.

Not a PAUSE feature, per se, but in Halloween, you can wait in the "safe rooms" at either end of the house indefinately. Michael doesn't appear in these rooms, so you can race to a safe room, drop off whatever kid you've collected, and take a restroom break or leave the house for a burger or something without worrying about losing a man or running out the clock (no timer on the game).

Here's my general rule-of-thumb. But rather than go by year or processing speed or whatever, I go by controller. Classic Era - Stuff that used joysticks, ie, Ataris (all of em), Colecovision, Vectrex, etc. (The Intellivision is the odd duck in this plan, but whatever). Some folks lump the NES in here, but I still view it as a Neo-Classic because... Neo-Classic - The "joypad era". The NES, Turbo Grafx, 3DO, Sega Master and Genny, Super NES. I think that covers it, though the original PS1 falls into here, but I'm loathe to call it a Neo-Classic (though it *is* a dead system, I suppose). Modern - Stuff that uses any kind of analog controller - The current stuff, but also lumping in the N64. Anyway, it's not a perfect system, but for some reason, the controller sets the "classic level" for me. Discuss.

* Rescue on Fractalus - The first time the "false pilot" jumped up and pounded the windsheild, I think I nearly pooped my pants. * Atari 2600 Haunted House - The first time I approached a door just as one of the enemies came through, causing the lightning to flash, thunder crashes, and the eyes rolled, I nearly pooped my pants. * Resident Evil - The first time the dogs came crashing throught he window, I nearly pooped my pants. * Friday the 13th for the C64 - I don't think this was a commercial release (pirated floppy), but the first time one of the campers is killed, the screen suddenly flashes a digitized severed head while a cheapy voice screams from the tinny speakers. Anyway the first time it happened, yup, pooped.

As I recall, she had a deal with Zach here that nearly went ape-crap. (Do a search, you'll find it.) And she's been raked over the coals both at DP and on NESWorld. Personally, I've had a deal or two with her without problems. But they were both before all of this nonsense began to surface. Carpe diem and all that. Incredible. I try to ask that we not go down this road of expo vs expo/website vs. website again. I ask that someone - ANYONE - be the big man and just shut the Hell up. And, once again, it's apparently impossible for some folks. And I've tried playing policeman as I'm fucking tired of all the he-said/she-said that goes on between some folks. Hell, I've even managed to keep my mouth shut over my feelings about PhillyClassic, trying to bury the hatchet - or at least not let the blathering of certain folks get to me anymore. (There really was no need either, as Ruddygore makes my point for me everytime he makes yet another post.) You know, this is just too much drama here OVER FRIGGIN TOYS AND GAMES. It ain't the end-all, beat-all of existance. It's becoming a bad version of West Side Sory anymore and I, for one, cannot understand how all of us got to this point. Two sides of the same coin.
