  1. *Sigh* Step 1: Go to "Search" in links above. Step 2: Type in "Hozer" Step 3: Read. Step 4: Move on, lest the "Don't mention that name/subject" folks begin posting their pleas.
  2. Hmmm...not entirely sure of the aesthetics as to who owns what, Tempest. But here's a bit of "posted ki-bosh": http://forums.g4tv.com/messageview.cfm?cat...&threadid=79436 "Top Starcader" is the JM Productions guy, I know that much. Maybe a "videogame gameshow" concept is pretty much "open," but calling it Starcade with one of the former hosts caused concerns to the rights-holders obviously. And it *was* pretty short notice. I daresay, there will be SOME competetion next year. What and in what form? Dunno.
  3. Yup, short notice was one thing. The other was JM Productions - owners of Starcade and all things Starcade - putting the ki-bosh on anything that was not pre-approved by them. It was moot, since nothing could be put together that fast anyway. But - in the future - they made it clear that anything "Starcade" must be approved by them - the copyright/game owners. My guess is that it - or something like it - will be put together and permission-secured with little or no problems. But Classic Gaming Jeopardy - hosted by yours truly - went off without a hitch. (Though the board fell down between games, nearly crushing myself and Our Lovely Hostess Janice.)
  4. Sorry. I couldn't help "it." I'll now stop "it." I should cut "it" out. Oh my, the wordplay is a-flyin'! And, with that, I mosey along.....
  5. Whoooooooooo! A perfect score! Suck on THAT, you Pro Programmers! Ha! <removes tounge from cheek>
  6. It's funny, but some carts work on the "newer" systems, but not the older models. As I recall, didn't one of the homebrews - Marble Craze I think - have trouble performing on the old Heavy Sixers, but worked fine on the Jr.?
  7. Rumor has it it's in the works for release next year. Same DP format, only covering everything from NES to today. Just an FYI. But I know no more than that.
  8. I was gonna do "Beat 'em and Eat 'em." EGGS! I WAS GONNA WHIP UP SOME SCRAMBLED EGGS AND PUT THE CART IN THERE! You people make me sick.
  9. Ah, nice try, but Dragonstomper DOES have stats for the character as I recall - STR and DEX. In fact, you call 'em up when you use - wait for it - STAT on your menu. Ahem.
  10. Whoo-hoo! Grand Theft Auto comes to the 2600! Ahem.
  11. Full PDFs of every page of every issue of Classic Gamer Magazine (issues 1 - 6) plus "extras" too numerous to mention. But nothing you haven't seen before. But just having all the issues archived is truly nice.
  12. If Cav's still selling them, not a chance. It'd be like ripping and posting the Stella Gets a New CD files. Just ain't a nice thing to do to a forum member.
  13. I'll never part with mine, nor my entire run of first-run color print issues. But here's an e-mail address for Cav that should be up-to-date. Hit him up here: [email protected]
  14. Got a flyer with today's newspaper and I can confirm this deal at WalMart. However, it's good ONLY at WalMart ONLY between 6 am and 11 am Friday monring and ONLY while supplies last. Better be there early if you want to save $20. Me? I'm gonna try it. What the hell. And then I'll toss the still-sealed Zelda disc on eBay and recup what I can of the GC price. If I can get $30-$40 for the Zelda, I've pretty much bought a new GC for $50 or less.
  15. Ah, I thought CPU had some kinda "all-encompassing Wonder Mod" powers or something. My mistake.
  16. Then I gotta ask - and I'm not being a smartass - but why is this thread still open then?
  17. Ok, I'll correct myself: Ben made the best contests of my prefered type ever. Your (and many other) contests are great too, but different. Ok? Yeah, that soothed my fevered brow.
  18. I think it's a different show. But why oh why have the dates so close to each other? Would be cool to have one in the fall and one in the spring. Yeah, I felt the same way with this year's AGE/CGE date-collision snafu. But, just as we were all assured that it was merely the only dates available to the new show, I'm certain that this new Philly show is also merely a victim of "what was available" as well.
  19. For me, well, you don't break 1,000,000 points on Atari 2600 Halloween in 20 minutes, let me tell ya.
  20. No apologies necessary. Just giving ya some friendly advice. See? <---A smiley! Anyway, now that we know what you are looking for and what you have to spend, let's seee who has one at that price. Good luck and welcome to AA.
  21. Can't help ya, all we have are bad expensive deals. Sorry, it's a pet peeve of mine when someone makes a post like this, like they expect the membership to take advantage of them. (Even worse is when someone posts "I don't want to get ripped off, but I'm looking for....") Anyway, off my soapbox. You didn't mention a price range that is what you're willing to shell out. Seriously, you're looking at shelling out at least $30 (plus shipping and 2600s are heavy) for a basic working system with a handful of real basic common games, and that's only if someone takes a small hit in their trade bait. So, what *is* you're price range? Post a bit more info and I'm sure someone here can help ya out. And welcome!
  22. Well, I went to Gamespot, Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and EB Games and they each had a release date of 11/07; 11/17; 11/30; and mid-December. So it appears NO one knows what the actual street date is. Hopefully, it will be releadsed this year. But, for what it's worth, Dragon's Lair 3D was to be released for the Sony Playstation 2 in the winter of 2001, then first quarter 2002, then late 2002, then by first quarter of 2003, before that version was cancelled completely. So, though I'd like to see MAT released in a timely manner, I've seen other "imminent releases" disappear. There may even be a chance that MAT will be released for one or two systems, but someone else gets left out in the cold - perhaps the Gamecube this time. Time will tell...
  23. Criminy, you expect a *lot* for $5.00. Admitted, a buggy program sucks, but it was only $5. Hell, the Mythicon games went for $9.99. Now *that* was a rip-off.
  24. I love the smell of soon-to-be-locked-threads in the morning. It smells like FLAMING! <- only because there's no "on fire" icon....
