  1. Go to the Cinemeware website for info on Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown. And don't forget that Defender of the Crown is also available RIGHT NOW for the Gameboy Advance! Bought mine two days ago at Babbage's for $9.99 (not a typo). Identical tot he Commodore 64 version. Very nice indeed.
  2. I actually DID win the PB Mystery Cart Lottery twice. I once got a Sky Skipper - not rare, but a nice find - and once a Star Wars: The Arcade Game! Eventually found ones with labels, so I gave 'em away, but it was quite cool to not get a Frogger or Popeye for a change.
  3. Good luck Cass and all on the east coast. It's funny, but I have a bit of karma biting me in the ass right now. As Isabel began moving towards the coast, I remember thinking "Whew! That's why I don't live on the coast - poor bastards!" Well, I have a business trip I have to attend tomorrow. Where at? Montreal.... By way of Newark, NJ. My flight is gonna be soooooooooooo delayed. Bad karma! Down, I say! Down!
  4. <breaks out his Romper Room mirror> I see Matty and Cassidy and Nicole-y and...er....um...oof. Sorry gang, I have no idea from the photo. Id's please!
  5. I must be half-asleep. I *swear* I thought the subject line was: "Looking for POLIO"
  6. Indeed, but starting with your permission is appropriate. Then, after that, do we determine the market. Regardless, My Golf is one of the best sports sims on the 2600. And having Fatal Run available would also be very cool for us Yanks. I know nothing about Acid Drop though.
  7. Didn't Thomas do the PAL to NCTS conversions for these? Are you planning to release his work on cart form? If so, with or without his permission? Sorry to cast these questions, but an identical situation surfaced some time ago that led to a very ugly situation. Give us more info on what you've got going on. I assume you're dealing with Thomas as you're in Germany too.
  8. Messages posted to this forum aside, Lee asked - twice - that Jah stop leeching the images and he asked him to change the "used with permission" disclaimer in his ads (which was untrue). Jah did not comply. All Lee did was change HIS OWN IMAGES HIS OWN SERVER. Lee is completely not in the wrong for altering his own stuff. But since Jah saw fit to steal the imagry, he is now stuck with the picture. I find it incredibly amusing and a perfect come-uppance. I believe Jah will pay attention the next time someone asks him to not steal bandwidth. And, c'mon, you guys are ALWAYS posting those eBay "OWNED" links everytime someone steals bandwidth and gets caught. The computer on fire was a classic example. Too tired to find the thread here though... I wish Jah the best and hope he gets this all straightened out. But pissing off an AA member who was already pissed at his earlier shenanigans, then STEALING this pissed member's imagry was just asking for a smackdown.
  9. LOL I just saw a very unfortunate spelling error in the listing. According to my ad, it comes with "mamory maps." No other programming book comes with breasts, so this *is* a collector's piece! I am such a tool. Gotta spellcheck these things in the future. Anyway, *memory* maps was what I was shooting for.
  10. Hey gang, Yup, I know it's free and posted up on the Internet. But those who want the actual book to learn how to program 6502 - and this is a GREAT resource for beginners - can just check out my eBay auction. And I'm starting the bidding at $1.99 which is a LOT less than I paid for it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2750842649 Have at it, all you budding Atari programmers.
  11. Wow Chromi, your facts need some tweaking. I'll help out, as I was there. (On the sidelines...) That would be Classic Gaming Expo 2002 last year. Way off. Let me re-wind. The CGE Services guys released 3 Atari 2600 games at CGE that year (Crack'ed, Save the Whales, and Pick-Up). For the shells, they (somewhere) purchased a bunch of new in-the-box Dig Dug carts (probably from O'Sheas). Anyway, after removing the carts and making the new ones, they were stuck with 400 EMPTY Dig Dug cart boxes. So they made up 40 "Prize tickets" (1 in 10 of a prize!) and placed them in the EMPTY cart boxes. The boxes (EMPTY) were placed in a cargo net and suspended above the CGE floor for the entire weekend. During the last hour, they cut the ropes and people dove for those Golden Tickets for great prizes. Yup, you got that right. No one got hurt, but it certainly raised some eyebrows as there was some serious jockeying for position among the more aggressive ones. Some folks (like myself) stayed on the sidelines. After the carnage, I walked among the crushed EMPTY boxes and looked for tickets that someone had missed. I came up empty, but several other people claimed protos, new games, complete game systems, a stand-up coin-op (I think) and other stuff from the leftovers on the floor. Anyway, the Great Dig Dug Drop was successful in its own right, but it was agreed that there was too much risk to do something similar again. This year, it was the Common Cart Mystery Prize Giveaway. (Common carts were given away upon entering the Expo. Some programmed with a "You are a winner" message redeemable for prizes.) Anyway, here's a link to the AtariAge photos from the Dig Dug Drop (scroll to the bottom of the page: http://www.atariage.com/features/cge2k2/pi...res_show_3.html
  12. A lot of unreleased titles are also unconfirmed titles, making a list like this very difficult to compile. Protos are surfacing daily, it seems, but I think this is a tall order to fill. Anyone else?
  13. "Dear AtariAge members whom I have ripped off until called out by legal action. Send me more money. No, really, I can be trusted this time around...." Don't believe me? Then why is this posted on the AA Message Boards? http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32826 I'm gagging on chutzpah over here. It's like he wants to borrow money from the people he ripped off so he can pay them back.... I'm not involved in this at all, nor do I have any outstanding orders/deals. But I watched it all ferment and explode over many months. And, no, I'm still not convinced any of you will see a dime. And, no again, no slack will be cut.
  14. Facinating approach. He's posting a list of his eBay sales items to the people he owes money/items to. And if he's not fishing for you people to bid, then why make a post of all of the Atari-specific items he's selling? Just so you "can see" what's up for grabs? Ugh. Anyone on AA who makes a bid on any of these items deserves what he/she gets, considering the history that led us to this point.
  15. That's what I thought, but you can understand my concern. Thanks for the clear-up.
  16. Quick question (sorry if this has been asked/answered previously): When the first Activision Anthology came out, AA needed to pull all the Activision ROMs so therte would not be a conflict. (And also because the Activision titles were once again "Active".) So, if the new Anthology has homebrews, will those ROMs be pulled and will AA have to stop selling those specific titles on cart? What kind of "exclusivity" will Aspyr have to these homebrew titles? I'm concerned that some very grand titles are suddenly going to disappear as the Activision ROMs did.
  17. It's not a "CGE" article at all, but rather one celebrating retro gaming. Al himself is quoted and there's mention of new Commodore 64 games too. CGE is, of course, mentioned, but the article is a bit more wide-ranging than that. Nice to see the mainstream press giving the retros their due.
  18. Which is why I say don't bother with the eBay re-sellers. Wait a few and whatever didn't sell at the show will be legitimately retailed online via their respective websites. Absolutely. The whole "blah-blah-blah exclusives" days are over, as all homebrewers/vendors realize that there are folks willing to buy their stuff after the event and so extras/overages are planned for. You want a CGE Services game? Wait a week or two while they unpack and an announcement will be made as to availability. Gotta have it RIGHT NOW? Go ahead and pay whats-his-name on eBay the $150 he's asking. Or save yourself $110 and wait for the general release. The only game that will be hard to get post-CGE is the Vectrex War of the Robots game being sold by GDG. STill kicking myself for not grabbing it when I had the chance.
  19. Whatever. The guy was run out on a rail and is effectively out of business, so this whole conversation is moot as I see it. I'd rather he give away his remaining stock to folks who will appreciate the games and the gesture of kindness rather than just burying them in some unmarked New Mexico landfill.
  20. How did the cart give-away go? Holy crap, was THAT a success! The DP booth had a "retro-80's living room" set-up, complete with ugly retro-endtables and ugly-retro-red/brown velvet couches. The tables were piled high with Gamepro and NIntendo Power magazines for perusal and a 48-hour long Warlords tourney was playing on the 80's TV nearby. Well, every 5 minutes, someone would come over, pop out the WL cart, and pop in their freebee cart. (Since I was right there, I go to watch.) It was quite cool the reactions of some folks when they booted up Pac-Man and instead discovered they just won a stand-up machine or Gamecube. Priceless. (And one or two folks, who had a non-winning cart, still remarked that they needed the "ordinary" cart for their collections anyway!) Very cool idea and I think all but one Gamecube was claimed by show's end.
  21. Nolan's prescence was confirmed a mere 3-4 days before CGE. An announcement at that late hour wouldn't have made a bit a difference in attendnce. A month or few weeks in advance? Of course. No question it would've. But since this was not the case, I assume it was decided to spring him on those attending as a grand surprise for making the trip out. I daresay, due to the overwhelming response he recieved (and a point-blank question from yours truly) he'll attend next year's CGE. No question about it.
  22. No "gulps" needed Stan and everyone else calm down. If RAndy tossed Gunfight and Space Treat in FOR FREE, then he didn't make a dime off the homebrewer's works and - in fact - took a hit because of the time/labor/supplies invested that he didn't recoup. My guess is that he still has carts made up from "back in the day" and - knowing he can't sell them - is giving them away with orders. Rather than immediately assuming the worst, how's about cutting the guy a little slack?
  23. Yup, that's me all right, all right. We were planning to run a Family Feud game too, but G4 showed up and began taping an episode of Filter there on the CGE floor and in the DP/CGE Services booth. Concerts and special events were postponed while they recorded. And then, after that was over, Nolan began his keynote and there was no way in friggin' hell I was going to miss that.
  24. Paul, I just wanted you to know that we all think you're doing a great JOOOOEEERRROOEEERRROOOOEEERRRB! (And am I the only one who will get this?)
  25. "Will someone please make a Mr. Driller for 2600 or at least finish Digger?"
