Status Updates posted by Nathan Strum

  1. Well, that's great. J.J. Abrams' "Bad Reboot" gets to ruin yet-another childhood-favorite franchise of mine: Speed Racer. (Not that it could be any worse than the Wachowskis' movie.) https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/speed-racer-live-action-tv-series-j-j-abrams-apple-1235154012/

I can't tell the difference between your status update and Keatah's.

Ouch. I guess I'm going to have to stop posting then. ;)

  2. Drawing angry, cartoon, space gumdrops.

  3. Are Status Updates still a thing? I have no idea... maybe I'm posting this into the void, but here's a blog post about cartoons. And technology. https://atariage.com/forums/blogs/entry/18096-as-normal-as-it-gets/

Status Updates are now under My Activity Streams. Not as visible of course, but I do think quite a few members actively look at them.

    2. GoldLeader

Some of us still like them.

  4. My Impreza just turned 20 years old. For its birthday, I got it Smog Checked. Much cheaper than the head gasket I bought it last year.

    1. Corby

annnd next year, piston rings and timing chain

  5. It's only mid-February, and I've already Garfielded out more Artie the Atari strips than all of 2021.

LOL - Basic Math IS an underused property

  6. Shameless self-promotional clickbait:

But hey - you get to read a free comic strip!

  7. If you cut out enough letters from today's episode of Artie the Atari, you can spell "Garfield":

  8. More Garfield-esque antics from your favorite videogame console!

And by Garfield-esque, I mean we're recycling the same old handful of ideas pretty-much all the time. But hey, it works for Jim Davis. ;)

  9. Oh Garfield... you're so wacky with your hatred of Mondays, eating lasagna and snarky commentary on Atari and the retrogaming scene.

Wait... that's not Garfield. Must be a new Artie the Atari strip.

  10. I'm working remote, using my own computer's monitor to view a laptop computer that I'm using to remote into my desktop computer at work. I keep forgetting which computer I'm using.

  11. I want to go out and buy some classical music, but someone keeps Haydn my Chopin Liszt.

    1. GoldLeader

Well, You've got to go Bach and get a Handel on the situation...Schumann, get outa here, if you don't have a car,  take Debussy...

  12. Will 2021 be the first year without an Artie the Atari comic strip? Will it?! WILL IT?!!

Tune into the strip tomorrow to find out!

Wait... I just gave it away.

Anyway, new strip coming tomorrow. Clearly I'm out-of-practice with the PR stuff.

Will Garfield make an appearance in it?

    3. carlsson

Yeah, a new Atari console with the custom chips Garfield & Odie. Do the math!

    4. Cobra Kai

      Cobra Kai

Have Alf appear and eat Garfield

  13. ...because baseball players apparently don't already get paid enough money for hitting a ball with a stick.

*Manage?!*  Well ladida....look at you over here managing people!  ;)

    3. desiv

Yeah, either they thought I'd be good at helping the techs progress and direct some technology projects, or they were thinking "OMG, what can we do to get him to never touch our servers anymore!!!!"
I'm still not sure which... ;-)

    4. GoldLeader

Now I fully admit watching you manage an IT group or whatever might be just as interesting as baseball (probably moreso), but ...You guys serve beer and nachos?   Nope?    Yeah...I think ya see where I was going with that...

  14. They just hired an architect for a major project at work. Anybody familiar with someone named "Lois Bidder"?

    1. Allan

Yes. Met her at Moe's Tavern in Springfield.

    2. thanatos

The company is probably represented by the law firm of Dewey, Cheatem, and How.

  15. It's interesting how Spam has come to be known as a word describing something universally detestable and destined only to be discarded. And then people began using it for junk email too.

Bacon SPAM is pretty good, as is the low-sodium version. Regular SPAM is too salty for my tastes, usually.

    3. NE146

And this is perfect for Thanksgiving

    4. Max_Chatsworth

No..SPAM is loved in many places...especially Hawaii

  16. I'd like to think it's just age, or exhaustion, or being really distracted. But somedays, I'm just stupid.

  17. Somebody say, "Keep on rockin'"...

    1. masschamber

I usually say "rock on" as I leave, is that good enough?

I'm not sure. Rick Derringer seemed pretty specific.

    3. retrorussell

Rick Derringer and his bandmates from Edgar Winter Group all seemed like they got along really well.  Edgar especially seems like a really likeable guy.
