  1. I'm working remote, using my own computer's monitor to view a laptop computer that I'm using to remote into my desktop computer at work. I keep forgetting which computer I'm using.

  2. I want to go out and buy some classical music, but someone keeps Haydn my Chopin Liszt.

      Well, You've got to go Bach and get a Handel on the situation...Schumann, get outa here, if you don't have a car,  take Debussy...

  3. Will 2021 be the first year without an Artie the Atari comic strip? Will it?! WILL IT?!!

    Tune into the strip tomorrow to find out!

    Wait... I just gave it away.

    Anyway, new strip coming tomorrow. Clearly I'm out-of-practice with the PR stuff.

      Yeah, a new Atari console with the custom chips Garfield & Odie. Do the math!

      @desiv,

      *Manage?!*  Well ladida....look at you over here managing people!  ;)

      Yeah, either they thought I'd be good at helping the techs progress and direct some technology projects, or they were thinking "OMG, what can we do to get him to never touch our servers anymore!!!!"
      I'm still not sure which... ;-)

      @desiv,

      Now I fully admit watching you manage an IT group or whatever might be just as interesting as baseball (probably moreso), but ...You guys serve beer and nachos?   Nope?    Yeah...I think ya see where I was going with that...

  5. They just hired an architect for a major project at work. Anybody familiar with someone named "Lois Bidder"?

      Yes. Met her at Moe's Tavern in Springfield.

      The company is probably represented by the law firm of Dewey, Cheatem, and How.

  6. It's interesting how Spam has come to be known as a word describing something universally detestable and destined only to be discarded. And then people began using it for junk email too.

      Bacon SPAM is pretty good, as is the low-sodium version. Regular SPAM is too salty for my tastes, usually.

      No..SPAM is loved in many places...especially Hawaii

  7. I'd like to think it's just age, or exhaustion, or being really distracted. But somedays, I'm just stupid.

  8. Somebody say, "Keep on rockin'"...

      I usually say "rock on" as I leave, is that good enough?

      I'm not sure. Rick Derringer seemed pretty specific.

      Rick Derringer and his bandmates from Edgar Winter Group all seemed like they got along really well.  Edgar especially seems like a really likeable guy.

  10. Things that weren't on my to-do list for today: spending two hours on hold with Apple, because nobody can figure out how to email me a receipt.

  11. My dream job is to be the guy at Apple who goes through the OS, finds any remaining useful features, and tells the programmers to get rid of them. Because clearly someone is doing that, and is probably getting paid really well.

      Or the guy that takes something useful, stable and familiar and completely reworks it into something worse, uglier, clunkier, less stable and just plain different.

  12. Currently in a Zoom meeting, where we're having a meeting about how to have meetings, and they literally just said not to have a meeting about other meetings. I think I'm actually wasting time faster than time is passing, but I'm not good enough at mathematics to figure out how to graph it.

      This is funny. Last night I participated in a meeting about too many meetings.

      Did the meeting also include mention of what kinds of donuts should be eaten when having meetings?

      @frankodragon Sadly, no. That would've been productive, and caused a rip in the space-time continuum.

      Can't these live happily together, i.e. from fan art and plagiarism to you're a fan of "art plagiarism"?

  16. Congratulations IGN on becoming even more unreadable! I have absolutely no idea what I'm looking at over there now.

      When it comes to basic usability, I increasingly find most of the biggest websites—Facebook, Pinterest, etc.—to be completely incomprehensible.

      Given that recommendations nowadays are tailored to your needs, you obviously need them. Just be happy they are not telling you you need penis enlargement. :)

      A couple of weeks ago I was considering buying a 3-pack of boxers. Now I see those boxers everywhere I go on the internet. :)

      I was recommended to buy some rubber pieces to seal the windows on a '75 Chrysler Cordoba ...Which would seem pretty weird,  unless someone in the future Gives me a 1975 Chrysler Cordoba,  and explicit instructions (Or well they don't have to be explicit,...Maybe implied instructions would work nearly as well)  to make sure and buy some rubber pieces to seal the windows on it...I don't have one of those cars is my point.
