Did the rise in online shopping cause the deterioration of the retail shopping experience, or did the deterioration of retail shopping cause the rise of online shopping? Whatever happened... going to the store to buy something now pretty-much sucks.

A trip to WalMart was what prompted this. I went there to buy an 8GB SD card. I'd tried Staples, but they had nothing except ONE 128GB card for $78! When I got to WalMart, there was nobody working anywhere near their electronics department. I couldn't just buy the card, because it was locked in a case - a $7 card! I waited (with other customers) nearly 20 minutes before someone finally showed up - who caused more delays because he didn't know how to ring up a TV.

It's surprisingly difficult to spend a $25 Best Buy gift card, because 1) They don't have anything worth buying that costs $25, and 2) they don't have anything worth buying, period.

A movie starring "The Rock", based on the videogame "Rampage"? And it's not an April Fool's Joke? I give up trying to figure out Hollywood.

Well, so much for the NES Classic... http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/04/13/nintendo-discontinues-the-nes-classic-edition?

Hot dog and a Coke at Costco for $1.50. Is there any better lunch anywhere? No, there isn't.

The Nintendo Switch: The graphics power of a PS3, the playability of a Wii U, and the battery life of an Atari Lynx. Winner!

WonderCon, day 2. Wondering why I bothered to shower... nobody would ever notice.

So glad that "The Curse of Oak Island" managed to put together a new season this year. I'm hopelessly addicted to that show. (Overly-dramatic narrator: "A rock? With a scratch in it? Could this be the proof that time-traveling space aliens buried a secret treasure in the Money Pit three-thousand years ago?")

I'm on board with Cobra Kai-I really like the show, and the idea of it(my last name is Blair[likely no relation], and I am a lifelong Geek, I've been "into" the OI thing for a long time, but I imagine IF they do find anything, it will be so signifigant as to not be able to be kept secret until it was unveiled on a TV show, unfortunately.

My profile has been viewed over 41,000 times. Don't you people have anything better to do?

How many letters do you have to type before your browser auto-completes "atariage.com"? I just type "a".

Right now, according to my AtariAge profile, I have 2600 "Likes". Seems appropriate.

People are always posting that "someone should make..." some game or other. What game do *you* think someone should make?

I just bought a new TV at a pre-Superbowl sale. But I bought a really small one, since I only plan on watching part of the game.

Just poured 1/4 bottle of wood glue all over a vinyl record. Now we'll see if the internet was just pulling my leg.

There was a time I used to watch the Oscars. For that matter, there was a time when I knew when they were actually on TV. Apparently, that was last night.

So... if McDonald's is making their 1/4 Pounders with fresh beef, cooked when you order, why do they still serve them with stale, 3-hour-old heat-lamp french fries?

Making a new batch (I agree "fresh" is probably pushing it) seems reasonable if you're willing to wait and they aren't slammed.
I guess if they're busy, the turnover will make things hotter and crispier the way you want em.
Reminds me of "secret menu" items, which would be cruel to order if they're busy http://www.wideopeneats.com/mcdonalds-secret-menu/

I worked at a MeConalds in Joliet, IL when I was in my early 20's. The only guy who worked the fry machine during the day alwayas came in drunk. The store manager always had a can of yellow paint and a brush ready for him in case the health department came by. Mgt. would send the guy outside to paint the curbs.

Pretty sure I need a grilled-cheese sandwich today.

No matter how many times they keep reminding me, for some reason I keep forgetting to "Like" and "Subscribe" every single YouTube video I happen to watch. Either I'm getting forgetful in my old age, or I just don't like being annoyed.

I voted! It was nice to vote early, and I highly recommend it. However, I was disappointed that it didn't somehow make me exempt from still having to watch political ads on TV.

@CPUWIZ Well, maybe when you turn 18.

When people type "LOL" are they really laughing out loud, or are they just faking it?

Apparently, the internet thinks we have a "style" that's ruining animation. https://www.polygon.com/2018/5/22/17381380/thundercats-roar-calarts-style-steven-universe Well, I suppose we should pick one then. https://vimeo.com/channels/calartscharanimfilms2018/videos/sort:plays/format:thumbnail

As much as I abhor John K's sexual predation, assholic tendencies, crotchety views, and of course, his "all or nothing, never say compromise" attitude; I wouldn't call him a talentless hack by any stretch. Considering that he and many of his friends worked on a lot of cartoons in the '80s, he rightfully decided to do something about it.
-
I wouldn't call him a talentless hack either. But he is a complete hypocrite who is incapable of moving past his own hackneyed style. At the time, I liked some of the work he did on Bakshi's New Adventures of Mighty Mouse and the early Ren & Stimpy episodes. But there were a lot of other talented people working on those shows, who have managed to move on to other things. John K is irrelevant and obsolete.

You shouldn't be allowed to wear a "Star Wars '77" t-shirt if you didn't actually see Star Wars in '77.
