  1. Wait... it's carpal "tunnel"? I thought it was carpal "FUNnel". No wonder I'm not enjoying repetitive data entry as much as I thought I would.

I remember a repetitive Data entry job...Vacuuming floors on the Enterprise and spraying Static Guard every time Data entered the room.

Hell if it wasn't for possible electrostatic brain damage,  He could just enter through the carpet tunnel like everyone else

Hmm. It's devolved to Carpal PUNnal, now, huh.

Now I wonder if the C64 budget game Tunnel Vision is likely to cause you carpal tunnel, or if it even was named as a play on that.

  2. BattleBots is what DVRs were made for: fast-forwarding through a 2 hour show for 5 minutes of actual robot combat.

  3. Sometimes when I get take-out from Jersey Mike's they give me zero napkins in the bag, and sometimes they give me 50. I'd be happy just getting one or two consistently.

    1. carlsson

Perhaps it is their implementation of "Guess a napkin from 1 to 100"?

    2. Albert

      Albert

You should save some when they give you 50!

    3. Nathan Strum

      Nathan Strum

@Albert I did. But they give me zero so often, I ran out.

  4. My Community Reputation just hit 10,000. It sounded impressive until I realized it would be a pretty lousy score in just about any video game I like playing.

If the game was Space Invaders, you’d be a legend in your local arcade.

It would also be an impressive score in the google Dinosaur game.

  5. Really loved the WandaVision premiere episodes! Only two episodes in, and it already looks completely bonkers.

I watched it... and it did not exactly set my world on fire.  They had better step it up in the next episode or two.

In the last episode you find out it was all a Peyote vision that Wanda Sykes was having.

  6. Happy 2021! How about meeting a Gorfian doom this year? Demo now available!

  8. There are days when I think nothing can surprise me anymore. Then someone decides to make a romance movie about Colonel Sanders called "Recipe for Seduction" with Mario Lopez. WTKFC?

I watched it.  My feelings are much the same as yours.  As long as you don't take it seriously and view it as a spoof of Star Wars, it has a few laughs.

  9. So glad that "The Curse of Oak Island" managed to put together a new season this year. I'm hopelessly addicted to that show. (Overly-dramatic narrator: "A rock? With a scratch in it? Could this be the proof that time-traveling space aliens buried a secret treasure in the Money Pit three-thousand years ago?")

Oh,  and then change the name of the show for its final episode to The BLESSING of Oak Island.

I'm on board with Cobra Kai-I really like the show, and the idea of it(my last name is Blair[likely no relation], and I am a lifelong Geek, I've been "into" the OI thing for a long time, but I imagine IF they do find anything, it will be so signifigant as to not be able to be kept secret until it was unveiled on a TV show, unfortunately.

I remember reading about that place in the 80's as a kid - at least it sounds like the same place.  A hole that they kept finding multiple floor levels as they dug deeper.  No way to know if it was the same story now, but it sounds so familiar.

  10. That's just great Apple. Saying you have the fastest integrated graphics is like saying you're driving the fastest Yugo.

    1. Sauron

      Sauron

Yeah but you wouldn't believe what those souped-up Yugos can do!

    2. Stephen

      Stephen

Given that it's Apple, they surely have the most expensive integrated graphics too right?

    3. No One You Know

      No One You Know

Well its not quite like that. The current consoles just have SoCs. All on one chip. If that were a PC prodct it would be branded as integrated graphics. I don't think they are bad, especially not for 2013.

  11. Just like Space: 1999. But 21 years later. And not on the moon.

A few others have transportation tubes, like Logan's Run, and I think Buck Rogers, too

    3. Nathan Strum

      Nathan Strum

True - but Logan's Run and Buck Rogers still take place in "the future". So we shouldn't have already seen those yet. ;)

And Micronauts!  They had some rocket tube thingy...Very expensive;  I never had that.

That's why the Simpsons and Family Guy weren't on.   On Sunday.    Doesn't anybody (try to) watch TV anymore?  Haha...And what's up with that third baseman spreading COVID around like an idiot?

I remember almost nothing about the TV Show. I was born in 1971, so I must have watched it and liked it, because I do know I asked for and got the Space:1999 ship for Christmas or my birthday one year in the late 70's.  But other than that I don't actually remember anything about it. I had to Google it to figure out what it was about.

Loved Space 1999.   There was a fun crossover movie with Battlestar Galactica which I could not find on Youtube, but this alternate intro was pretty cool...

      GoldLeader

I never saw the show except for about one minute once...I still wanted that big Eagle ship though!

  15. I voted! It was nice to vote early, and I highly recommend it. However, I was disappointed that it didn't somehow make me exempt from still having to watch political ads on TV.
