  1. LOL, when I understand the (bad) translation from google correctly. Then the game only runs with 640Kb (or 1Mb) or a special modified version of an Atari emulator I don't even heard about before? Well, I hope it will be available for 256Kb XLs some day. Of course, if I misunderstood the translation I would love to be corrected
  2. eMail? As some of us (me included) are to print out the mag by themselves as long as it is only PDF and we are talking about screen-shots and photos: It should be possible to make two versions of said PDF. One for screen view (72 dpi?)and one for print (300 dpi?). Just a thought. I am getting a little excited here, so I hope the first issue is out soon As I am pretty sure you have enuff topics to write about, I would like to ask you start with introducing the "new" tricks (HIP,TIP, ..) for the 8-Bit first and more importantly the new games. I came across "Crownland" and "Flowers mania" by accident. I have no idea how much cool new games (or demos) are out there. I left my XL alone for some years.
  3. I would like to read that magazine too. However, I would so much appreciate a print version. Can someone elaborate on how much a printed version would cost? As we are a global community we could print the mag in a "cheap country". Its not my intention to diss anybody, but isn't it possible that printing is cheap in Poland or in the Czech Republic than it i sin North America or Germany? Of course the first issues should be distributed as PDF so one can see how it turns out. In these days all the information is on the inter net, so at first a Atari Mag seems stupid, however, there are so many sites on-line so I hope this magazine would inform me about all the news as I can#t check all those sites regularly. Does "ST" include "Falcon030" as well?
  4. Well, you do not have to USE the old A8 if that is what you are saying. For example I use cc65 (and VIM and MAKE and so on) on my PC. I test the result with the emulator and can (If I build the SIO2PC cable today as it is planed) load the XEX file with the A8 to see the real results. On another note. Just want to remind you all that you do not need to use the text modes. I know that is nothing new as we have SW-80-column mode. Its just a reminder. And I had some interesting results with a 53-column mode (obviously 6 bit per char) back in the days. I am just throwing ideas around, I have no intention of coding a music editor, however, I am really curious what the out come will be and would be willing to assist a bit with coding
  5. EDIT: Just grabbed my GFs Win-Notebook. So I am fine for now So as a Linux user i have to wait till I get a possibility to transfer them to my XL. PS: I tried Wine, but both mentioned Windows-Emulators do not work
  6. +1 They sound bad (mostly) with atari800 and I have no means to transfer them to my XL. And I most probably won't bother to transfer each and every xex to the XL.
  7. I really am fond of the DE RE Atari and Mapping the Atari copies which are on the internet. i would have achieved much more when I had had the DE Re Atari book back in the day. Really. However, i welcome you in the year 2010. We have web 2.0 and are slowly going to web 3.11 So forget about about the books and lets do a wiki. Really. For once, i am not afraid of writing some pages of technical text. Its just that everyone can add soem bits if someone starts a Wikipage, but it would be harder to edit a whole book. If someone starts a Wiki (well, if there isn't already one) i am with you and try to contribute the parts I have knowledge and experience of. But I can assure you, i would never say f.e.: "I can write a chapter about ANTIC all of my own". Purely, because I haven't tried everything i could have tried.
  8. I would be really interested in the reason why there is this distortion. This is a mystery to me since almost 20 years @Peter: nice intro. I will contact you soon regarding my XL @all: Hi, I am a new member. In this forum, not on ATARI
