  1. Hello everyone, well the holiday season is over and everyone is back to the ole bump and grind, I finally finished restoring the tapper that I had purchased and even added a few extra touches further putting it over the top, additional niceties such as putting corkboard in the cup holders, installing an original Budweiser beer tap handle and then lighting it up for added effect , I put black metal angle brackets around the bottom and rear to protect it and make it look more polished. I also just picked up an asteroids which was in amazing shape it even had the original owl eyes coin door, I just finished changed out all the push buttons to leaf switches, and no burn in on this vector, just a beauty. I also got my hands on a space invaders deluxe, I put The tapper and the space invaders in the arcade for now, sort of going back to my classic gaming roots if you know what I mean, oh I almost forgot I also finished restoring that gauntlet above, complete with a shiny new no burn in 19" crt, truly a sight to behold. Check out the pics.
  2. Got myself a Pokémon mini with some carts, carrying case and a wristband, it is a neat little system, also got some new arcade systems in, will be posting pics of those soon. For now here are the pokemon pics, enjoy.
  3. Was looking for a pretty rare handheld cart system from LSI - 1983 called a digi casse, and found 1 in box none the less, also it came with 3 other lcd games to boot,1982 sky invaders from pop game, 1983 Gakken tom and jerry prank and Bandai's challenge golf, not exactly consoles, or arcade , but I am still happy with the purchase.
  4. New system arrived today, The Treamcast, even though it is a clone system, it is one of those I have been looking for quite a while, Got it for $380 including shipping on ebay, It arrived with a few issues since I purchased it non working, First off The Power supply had a cold solder joint took me around 20 minutes to figure out, since I had taken apart the entire power assembly looking for a damaged component, when I put it back together it still failed but I had pushed against the rear of the internal power connector and just happened to catch it turn on for a brief sec, that led me to pinpoint the cold solder joint, it also had a connector issue since the power supply stacks on top of a second pcb, which a little crimping fixed that, also I had to retune the laser, since it was not reading any disks at all, But after an hour of so of tinkering, everything works perfect now, a buddy of mine pointed out that even though the joystick and the carrying case say Treamcast the back of the unit and under the lcd it is actually mis-spelled Treamacast, just throw an extra a in there, love those Chinese. Here are some pics, enjoy. This unit also comes with a built in mp3 player and can play vcd's, not too shabby. It only came with 1 controller and no remote control for the vcd playback, I will have to use the controller, but still pretty neat, and thus another homeless broken system is healed and rescued for posterity. To the batcave.......... Till next time, stay tuned same bat time, same bat channel.
  5. Ok here are some more consoles that just arrived, I would write more about these but the reality is they are just variants of pongs, just getting them for completeness more than anything else. They are the Atari C-380 - yeah I know I already have it but it is the brown variant, I know, sort of ridiculous, but I did not catch it and hey at least now we have both. Followed by the Magnavox Odyssey 300, The APF TV Fun 405A, & the Wonder Wizard, here are the pics, enjoy.
  6. New console just came in today, I have been looking for this one for quite a few years and have only seen it come up twice in any auction or sales site, it is the Soundic Victory MPT-02, sort of cool the way the joystick assembly snaps into the numpad controller, I also took pictures from all the sides of the box, even though the box is in crappy shape, but al least everyone will knows what it looks like from all sides. Also got it with 2 carts, here are the pics, You can read more the MPT-02 here in this article from old-computers.com "The Soundic Victory MPT-02 is a clone of one of the first home videogame systems, the RCA Studio II. In opposition to the Studio II, the Victory MPT-02 has detachable controllers. Those controllers are composed of 10 buttons labeled from 0 to 9. More surprising, the Victory MPT-02 is the only Studio II clone system to offer alternative joysticks: real ones, with a stick and a fire button, this made the system more practical for action games.
  7. 2 new systems arrived today a sear super video arcade - basically a rebranded intellivision & a Giochi TV 401, an Italian pong variant. Here are some pics.
  8. Hey this is pretty neat, the Arcade just got listed as 1 of 8 arcades in the nation to check out in popular mechanics. http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/gadgets/video-games/make-a-gamer-pilgrimage-to-these-old-school-arcades-5#slide-5 Not too shabby for a video & arcade game collector.
  9. A new system arrived today, finally got my hands on a beautiful Nec PC Engine LT, no blown pixels and crystal clear sound. Not sure rare , but definitely desirable. Check out the pics.

And that brings us up to 131 Arcade games so far, this is on top of the current ones on the arcade floor. those 131 have temporarily left the Arcade in order to give other games a chance to get played, and I am pretty sure I'm probably forgetting a few, If there are any that you can remember that I may have missed, please let me know.
  11. Just to finally finish catching up the arcade side, here are some more games that have come through the Arcade's Hallowed Halls this year. Capcom CPS 3 - Red Earth Examu Arcana Hearts 3 Contra Evolution Hudson Soft Bomberman Examu Daemon Bride DDR extreme was replaced with In the Groove 2 - and we just switched it back, damn finicky players. Gals Panic SU - yes I know that's a S2 marquee, I couldn't find anything for SU. - same game just American speech and text. Groove on Fight for the Sega STV - this one was a pain to find. Spectral Vs Generations.

  13. Here are some more cabs I picked up since last year. The gauntlet is complete and working, im just redoing the control panel and converting it to a switchable game pcb between gauntlet 1 & gauntlet 2.
  14. Absolutely Love your collection racerx, Man do I know your pain, better than most i'm afraid, and yes, it is almost impossible to stop collecting these once you get started, You do not know how many times I have rearranged in order to get more arcade games to fit in, in fact I opened an arcade to have a place to house the collection, have rearranged that too now 6 times, and im still out of space, I now have games all over my other business, having enough space is always the killer to the collection, and in Miami where im at, space is at a premium. Beautiful collection, once again congrats.
  15. On the Arcade front, we have quite a few new games I have brought in, Starting with Sexy Pachinko reaction 2, complete with it's ball launching control panel. A replacement for the Hyper bishi bashi champ game, I present Pasha Pasha 2 from korea, Followed by one of my Fav's , the ever weird one, Wacko. I then brought to the Arcade a very rare Capcom title - Techromancer, and an even rarer title Osman. To top off this series of posts, I present 2 more games that I just got and in the process of restoring, the ever popular Midway Tapper and an Atari Cockpit Star Wars. Enjoy.
  16. Now here is the moment most of you have been waiting for the real high end and uber rare juicy stuff, here is an EVO Linux smart console, I should have also received the evo 1, but as you can see it came in a totally destroyed box and the evo 1 got demolished into tiny fragments, I was lucky to get the newer EVO unit to even work. I also got a very rare prototype Evo handheld, but I will have to post pics of that one later, I forgot to take them when I was at the office . And we also have an Epoch Electrotennis - Japan's first gaming console. It used that shiny antenna towards the top of the unit to wirelessly transmit it's game to the tv set. Finally I do not know how many of you remember back in april 2013,I purchased an Olivetti envision 400, but try as I might I was never able to get it to work, so it sat, a lonely unplayable, broken system for over a year, but last month everything changed, I found another one, it's next generation version, the Olivetti Envision P75, the first one was a 486, the 2nd one was a Pentium 75, and when I purchased it, it arrived with a ton of spares, So after some minor tinkering, I was able to bring the older unit back to life. So now we have both Olivetti's up and running with windows 95, an uber rare find.
  17. Moving along, I also managed to get my hands on an Elbex SD-070 with it's joysticks, an APF tv fun 402E, and a great little handheld The open Pandora.
  18. Continuing our catch up, we also received a JC Penny Pong, and 2 Commodore 64 Executive SX's, both of them did not work, so I managed to put good pieces from both together to create a real nice working one, I still have the other one for spares, etc. This one is complete with it's modem,it's 3 in 1 port adapter, the Epyx fast load, the 1570 sdram drive, with every single commodore game, program, etc ever written along with 2 wicko joysticks.
  19. Sorry about the long hiatus, just been pretty busy lately with the Arcade, work, etc. So where to begin, well I guess let's start with the crappy items and we will work our way up. Here are 2 total pieces of crap, a wireless 60, & it's updated version the 89 in 1, real Chinese garbage, but just got them to round out the collection, sometimes you have got to take the bad with the good.
  20. Got a great system in today, yes you are seeing it correctly, it is a Cabel Universal Game Computer, Boxed, and with a bunch of games. The box is not in great condition, but it is intact, the graphics on the box look like they were done in 8 bit. The controllers feel really fragile, they look like eggs with joysticks on them. 13 games, most of them sealed, The games you see leaning against the boxes are 3 additional repeat games. Will be testing soon, I have a 110v to 220v on it's way. Will post pics of the gameplay soon.
  21. when it came out in april 2013 only 100 units were made, they were set for presale only, The units were selling for $260 each, but it cost them $290 to make, I unfortunately was not one of the 100 who got it first, heck I did not even find out about it till I was searching for msx and came across it on an ebay search, I paid $426 + $50 shipping for unit, yes it is $140 more than when it first came out, but believe me the quality and the finish is well worth the final price I paid for it. You can read more about the zemmix one here http://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/hardware/zemmix-neo-project-korea-ocm-based-zemmix-cnced-case?page13&&&&page=0 Rick
  22. Received a rather rare console today, yes it is a clone, but what a nice clone it is. This is the Korean ocm zemmix one neo lite, and pictures do not do this one justice, it is a work of art. Feels real solid and the joystick is very heavy it's case is made of metal, The unit can play msx, msx disk , msx2, msx2 disk & msx2+ games. with multiple a/v outputs including vga with scanlines, 2 usb ports, 2 joystick ports, 2 cartridge ports, an sd memory card slot and a keyboard port, 100 units were made and they sold out almost immediately. Here are some pics of the unit.
