Continuing the postings, On the Arcade Front, Arcade Odyssey finally went to it's first Convention, Florida Supercon in Miami, Fl - http://www.floridasupercon.com/, this is like Comic con but located in Miami Florida, It was a grueling 5 days, and I mean grueling. We started by loading a 26ft truck on Tuesday the 2nd,at 7pm that went on till 4am, oh and I had to drop off a new game Friction in the Arcade. then we had to be at the event on Wednesday the 3rd by 3pm , so we left at 2:00pm, the truck would not go faster than 45mph, and by then it was in 5th gear. heck it was in 5th gear by 37mph, so it was a slow, bumpy ride, once we got there. We unloaded and began to set up till 3am Thursday, then we dropped off the truck before getting to bed at around 5am Thursday, now the event was opening in 6hrs at 11am, and we had to be there by 8am to continue getting everything ready. The event would run till 7:30pm nightly, we cleaned up and finished by 9:00pm Thursday night then left, went to my office and continued working on an Indiegogo launch that we are running in order to launch for the worlds first console video game museum, we finished at 5am Friday, then we had to be at the event at 9:00am Friday and ran till 9:00pm running the event and then we cleaning up and went home, by now slightly in a stupor, Saturday I had to pick up truck at 8:00am run back home get in my truck and get to the supercon by 11:00am, the line to drive in was over 1 mile long and I had to end up parking 4 blocks away, then ran the event all day till 8pm and cleaned up left by 9:30pm, on Sunday I got to the my office reboot some servers, go by the arcade leave the indiegogo poster and get to event by 9:00am, I then left the event by 5:30pm to go pick up the 26ft truck at my home, drove back to the event, loaded the truck and then drove back to the arcade to unload the games, drove to my warehouse to unload the rest of the gear and then drove the truck back to Penske rental company, ate dinner and got home on Monday @ 3am. I gotta tell you being 45 definitely takes it's toll on you when you do this repeatedly for 5 days. Here are some pics of our booth at the event and you can see more on our facebook page at www.facebook.com/arcadeodyssey. Finally, as many of you know, when I built the arcade I was not able to create my ultimate vision of what it should be, now that the arcade has gained momentum and popularity, I wanted to move ahead with what I originally designed, however the fact that I am charging so little to come and play at the arcade 1-2 token per play, and our rent is so high over $6k not including anything else, I realized that it was going to take forever to make my original dream happen, so to try and rush it along, I decided to launch an indiegogo campaign http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/arcade-odyssey-museum-ultimate-expansion/x/3097549?show_todos=true to help purchase a building and build out a 5000 sq ft console/pc/handheld museum, a 15,000 -20,000 sq ft arcade with pinball, a 3000 sq ft comic book store with the latest issues + statues and manga items, a 3000 sq ft restaurant/Japanese maid café, a karaoke bar, a themed card gaming center with different rooms for pokemon, dungeons and dragons, magic the gathering, and warhammer, and a few others. Several dance/rock band stages with 10 ft projector screens, a laser light show arena, separate pc and console gaming / tournament areas with streaming for competitions, basically a giant ComicCon type super gaming mall, I will be bringing in all my life size replicas and adding a few others, the ceiling will have sci fiction spaceships and robots with controlled lasers firing between different items across the ceiling. The real funny thing about this is we have almost everything we need to get this going except for the building, and that is what is killing us, we found several locations that would be ideal and would meet the zoning requirements of Miami Dade county for an Arcade/Entertainment complex, but each of the location costs several millions of dollars. And we do not wish to rent or lease the properties as several arcades and pinball locations had been forced to close here is a list this is in the last 2 1/2 years, all of them have closed due to landlord & rental management problems Sega Funland - London, England On 3 July 2011, Funland was shut down. This was due to a long running dispute with the landlord over rent. Sega Park - Southampton, England This Sega Park opened in 1996 and was located on the first floor of the Bargate Shopping Centre in central Southampton. It closed on 30 January 2013 after all traders inside the shopping centre were given notice to leave due to the ongoing sale of the property. Chinatown Fair Arcade - New York March 11 2011, A rent dispute forced Chinatown Fair to shutdown. National pinball Museum - Baltimore, Maryland On March 3 2012 National pinball museum is shutdown; Director David Silverman said "Despite our best efforts, we were unable to negotiate favorable terms with our landlord to extend our rental agreement without creating an extreme financial strain on the museum's limited resources," Planet Zero Arcade - Houston, Texas May 9th, 2012, planet zero shutdown, confusion in change of property management, negotiations, & legal battles with landlord. As everyone here pretty much knows, I have built up Arcade Odyssey in the last 1 1/2 years from nothing to the best and most popular arcade in S Florida, If not the whole South eastern US, with everything from multiple weekly video podcasts to now getting ready to incorporate my personal console collection which encompasses over 300 consoles from around the globe into the world's first video game museum – not pinball or arcade only, even though they will also be part of it. But it would really be horrible to watch it close or lose my dream of finally building one of the greatest arcades ever to a greedy landlord or management company who wants to double our rent because they feel they deserve more money because the venue is doing well - yes this actually happened to one of my peers in the arcade industry. A friend of mine named R. Rodriguez whom had an Arcade/Sports bar in Venezuela, he was forced to shut down, by a management company that doubled his rent because they saw he was doing very well, he could not afford to pay this blatant extortion and was also shutdown 3 years after opening. So with the Indiegogo, we are looking at purchasing the property and thus controlling our own destiny without the fear or seeing it go away like so many others, unfortunately Miami Real estate prices are pretty exorbitant thus the need for such a large sum, we have already found a location of approximately 50,000 sq ft but it is about 6 million - yes you read that number correctly, then we must renovate and hire additional staff + get more games and finally put away money for at least 1-2 years while we grow the venue, so even at $7 mil we are cutting it pretty close, I have already starting talking with my bank & credit lines in order to help catch whatever additional purchases we may need so we may proceed with this project, if it starts to get off the ground. I know what you are all thinking, that this is a very long shot, but hey we have to dream right? If you guys can donate anything, thank you in advance, if not, you can still help spread the word, if enough people know about this then maybe, just maybe, it can happen, or at least get me close enough to make some or most of it come true. See you next time. Rick

Hello again, I have a few items to cover today, this particular post is going to be for the Console Front. Today I finally received my Tectoy Zeebo, kind of a neat console from Brazil, sort of like an OUYA or Online game system, in order to play this console it downloads it's games from an online service, it comes with a keyboard and 1 controller, sort of sleek looking with the silver color and blue lighting, and it comes with stickers - neat, however since it is a pal system, you will only see the pictures of the games in Black & white, I did not have my pal converter with me so, no color for you. I do not like this style of game system in the fact that it depends on a service to play, but sadly this seems to be the way all systems are heading towards, no more media and just buy everything online, and when the service closes, oh well that's it, toss it. Not too sure I like where the future is heading with this. Here are some pics.

Was traveling in Nevada, and decided to stop by the Pinball hall of fame, great retrocade to say the least, next door to it was a classic game shop and I decided to stop in, I ended picking up another game boy advance and a neat Chinese handheld called the Yobo Gameware FC16 Go, here are some pics. Will try and post pics of the pinball hall of fame and the retrogame shop later on. Enjoy.

One for the console collectors today, the Ouya. Here are some pics for you guys & gals from the box to the opening to the system itself.

Hello again, another 3 consoles arrived today, we have a Hanimex 7771, a Radio Shack Electronic Scoreboard, and finally an Onlive Game System (microconsole), we should have a few others arriving soon. Some rather neat classic stuff combined with a console that does not even have a way to put in a disc or cartridge, talk about extreme ends of the spectrum. Until next time, here are some pics, Enjoy.

New console posts, just picked up a grandstand sd070 complete with master gun, and 2 carts, in very good shape. Also had a friend of mine find me a bunch of old windows 95/98 games complete in their boxes. I thought why the heck not, lets add it to the collection, yeah, I know they are not console related , but they are still a neat set to have. The sd070 even came with the cartridge connector cover. Check out the pics. I just purchased a few more items that are on their way, we are really beginning to split hairs now, there are only 4 unique consoles left for me to acquire, they are as follows. RDI halcyon - yes I have 2 ld players and the football disc , but still require the system, the 2 game carts, thayers quest ld, the keyboard and the headset. Olivetti envision, - yes I also have 1 of these, but unfortunately it is dead. I would like to have a complete working system Zemmix ctg-120 - even though I have the Zemmix CPC-61W - the CTG-120 can play msx-2 games, so I have got to find me one of those. and of course the Nintendo CTG-HC10 Everything else I continue to add is just another version of a console that I already own. Just another variant , until I find the remaining 4 , sigh...... Until next time. Rick
