  1. Yeah, I went back and read some of the classics last night and enjoyed myself thoroughly, especially when I read the post that was his signature moment: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/174216-need-donations-to-help-a-poor-dude/?p=2164725
  2. Well, make it four then; unless you were already counting me for some reason Not sure how "active" you would consider me, I got mine a year ago, picked up a few more since, play a few games every few weeks, and slowly building a software library and learning what I can about it.
  3. Yep, I pop it in a few times a year and have 5 or 10 minutes of fun with it. Nothing special, but fun in small doses.
  4. #5 - New Adventure Island - TG-16. Now, of course, my version of completing this required about 23,000 continues, but if anyone can beat this cruel bastard on three lives I will bow down before them. Some of the stages were just plain sadistic. And it looked like such a casual game.....
  5. Interesting, I have yet to play Fathom on Inty, but it is top ten for me on Atari. I am going to have to go home and play DK, Space Hawk and Zaxxon before I decide. They are all contenders.
  6. The more I look at this picture, the more worried I get. The alcohol is a good sign until; well, the dude is wearing a shirt that is at least very metro, then I noticed that they have carefully covered everything in plastic and then there is what looks like a giant cucumber on the table......
  7. Very nice! Hmmm, would you consider selling a shell and a label, so we could upgrade our original carts?
  8. I am just now really starting to love this system. My son gave me the Star Wars (R2-D2 console w/ gold C3PO controller) edition about two years ago. I still have not purchased a game at retail, but have built a nice library of 30 games or so without paying more than $15 for any of them. Good games are starting to be prevalent at garage sales and thrifts and now that I can get Netflix and Youtube without paying for Gold it is really starting to get a workout.
  9. Got mine, looks great! So far I only tested it as a nightlight, but I will be loading up some games tonight.
  10. Mario Kart won't save it by itself, but between that and Smash Bros, it should stay afloat until a slew of big games hit in 2015. From their E3 showing, it is clear that Nintendo isn't giving up and that maybe they have gotten some help with their messaging. A lot if chatter has been made that the next move may be a new iteration of the console rather than a whole new platform. This would give them a chance to rework the stupid name and deliver a concise message to consumers so they understand what they are being sold. I still havent bought one, but thinking that once the new Xenoblade game and Splatoon come out, I will take the plunge.
  11. No, I just use the files in the emulator's "cassette" folder as Jay mentioned. I am unaware if there are any cassette games that aren't captured in the Virtual Aquarius package. I saw a YT video of "Disco Fever" awhile back, so it has been tantalizing me and my stock machine ever since. I am also eager to play Scramble, as it is one of my favorites from the arcade version and all the many ports, although I am keeping my expectations low.
  12. I was only peripherally aware of this device, and had no clue about the System Command Console. Was this the only way to make use of the X-10 software, or could you interface directly to the Aquarius? I had hoped to play around with that someday, so I hope it wasn't dependent on a non-existant peripheral.
  13. I was thinking after the previous episode that you may have a hard time shaking that nickname now, but when you said it in the intro this week, I literally spit coffee all over my steering wheel. I am not joking, I cleaned it up but noticed this morning there was still some on the speedometer bezel.
  14. At the time. the term "tech demo" was not in my vocabulary, but I would say that is how I thought of Hard Drivin'. It surely was not a good game, but a very interesting tech demo and, so did get a few fistfulls of quarters from me.
  15. Well, everything really came together there. Just beautiful!

  17. A thing of beauty!! Can't wait!! Not sure if the label would look better on the front side or on the back so the top label orients toward the user when inserted and showing the LED more. What was your intention?
  18. Nah, we aren't old Osgeld. By the way, do they still have Jello at Cici's or was it not Jello day?
  19. The hits keep coming. Future computing historians shall refer to you as Jay Snellen, "Adoptive Stepfather of the Aquarius".
  20. Congratulation, brother. You are one of us, one of us, one of us.....
  21. I don't believe you! Prove it with a video or mp3! JK. would love to hear that though....
  22. More likely scenario: That's what she said, then I laughed at it and I got sent to human resources.
  23. Oh boy! I am in for this 100%. Some frameable prints would also sweeten the deal.
