Yeah, especially when, as you say the person has good feedback, ("Top Rated" actually, not that easy to pull off) ,a little info on what the trouble was would help. This person did buy a game from me in September and the transaction went off without a hitch.

I am such a TI-99/4A noob. Been tearing apart joysticks and controller ports for days and just found out the wonders of the "Alpha lock" key. Sheeesh!
-
There's a fix for the keyboard that solves that problem. I don't know how to do it, I just know it exists.
-
Don't worry, TI joysticks are so bad you won't notice the difference between when Alpha Lock is up or down anyway.
-
You are not the first-some guy on youtube did a review of munchman and had to revert to the keyboard as his joysticks were"faulty".
I left him a cryptic clue.

Thanks! I have had an MC-10 with ram expansion kicking around for a few years and haven't done anything with it. I will have to scrounge up an equivelant power supply and hope that a coco cassette cable will work.

How rare is the N64 Pikachu edition?
Chuck D. Head replied to Tickled_Pink's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Scarce, I would say instead of rare. Every gaming expo I go to, I seem to see one for sale, usually $100-125. -
Heh, due to lack of time and Atari games to play, my list is pretty short: - Orange Box (specifically Portal) - Bayonetta (stuck halfway through the game, but enjoyed what I played) - Arkham Asylum - played about an hour, then I got..... - Borderlands (playing now and loving) Once I am done with that Borderlands 2 is sitting here waiting for me, as is Assassin's Creed 3. I am sure the Burnout games would be instant addiction if they are anything like the previous generation.

Simpsons Tapped Out Halloween Event has begun
Chuck D. Head replied to SpiceWare's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I took a few days off after the update, but I am back in the swing of things now. Sheesh, I swear it took me ten minutes just to put all my Christmas stuff back into inventory. I would up getting everything but the abominable snowman; that damn spinning wheel was a bastard! -

So, did you wind up going into advertising, or politics? -
Pokemon Yellow! First time I finished one of these damn games. Now I can focus 100% on Borderlands.

The Official "Thrift finds" Thread
Chuck D. Head replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Great to find any TG-16 game sealed in the wild! That particular game, though, should probably remain sealed. You might want to check back, sometimes everything doesn't hit the floor at once. -
I got the AtGames Genesis handheld and console with wireless controllers for Christmas. The handheld benefits from the SD card slot and the console has the cart slot and controller ports in addition to the wireless controllers, which is nice. Both have issues, but I am glad I got them. I would love to have the handheld SMS, but without SD support, I won't purchase, unless I find it at a discount. I think my wife said the other two were $30 on black friday. Edit: I wonder how well the SMS games translate to a tiny screen. I love playing SMS games on the Game Gear with the Master Gear attachment, but forget about actually reading text or telling what your score is on the GG screen with graphics that were designed for tv viewing.

Intellivisionaries episode 4 available!
Chuck D. Head replied to Rick Reynolds's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Don't spend too much time on it, I appreciate the efforts you guys are already making. Radio Free Nintendo used to do the chapters, and each one had it's own image, which was a nice touch, so I thought I would mention it and only because of how well done your production is. Considering all the great music on your show, I appreciate you using the higher bitrate and the resulting fantastic sound quality. The show really is polar opposite of the (semi?) intentional low production value of RGRU, which is not slight to them as I love the low-brow approach as well. -
Intellivisionaries episode 4 available!
Chuck D. Head replied to Rick Reynolds's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I guess I never considered the size of a podcast to be a problem. If I have half an hour drive to work, I can either listen to a 30 minute Retroist podcast, or I can listen to the first 30 minutes of RGRU or Intellivisionaries and pause (also known as ripping the earbuds out of the jack and stuffing them in my pocket). When I have time to listen again, I start the show again, or I might go to something else and then come back to it. I think the only suggestion I could make is to do something to make the longer episodes more navigable. I had seen some podcasts that chapter their segments and a few others that upload a new image for each episode that displays time stamps for the show segments. -
To each his own. Live and let live. There are people here who would be interested in this. Not my cup of tea, but kudos to your wife for getting out there and accomplishing something that at least makes her happy.

2 worthy video game podcasts
Chuck D. Head replied to S1500's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
It is a testiment to Ferg's humble personality that he felt compelled to "call in sick" to his listeners. Take care of yourself, buddy. And be back at your ledger all the earlier the following morning!! Humbug! -

Rob, Yep, if the subject matter isn't personal to you, it wont make a good YDKF. I am following your lead in this as I try to half-ass a podcast together over here. Re: Sprite Castle, I would love it. I just don't have time to sit stilll and watch videos, but I would listen to this content all day long.... -
Simpsons Tapped Out Christmas Event has begun
Chuck D. Head replied to SpiceWare's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Updated last night. It took me awhile to figure out how to drop gifts for friends to where they can be seen. You might have one or two hidden behind a building. I love the new tasking tool at the upper left; makes tasking 43 characters so much easier. -
Internet "personality" Keith Apicary is constantly going around spewing his schtick, which seems to be a borderline mentally-disabled gamer and constantly talking about the Dreamcast 2; I am sure that is part of it.

2 worthy video game podcasts
Chuck D. Head replied to S1500's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
Well, there should at least be a a recurring segment, covering the latest Jag flame war activity blow-by-blow. "That concludes our R-Zone feature; now it's time for this week's chapter of The Jag-Offs". -

How 'bout a show on all the systems that are the butt of people's jokes and call it the Derriere-ies podcast? Actually, I wish someone would do something on the MSX, since it it one of few systems that I know little about. -
Yeah, I am averse to the whole concept; but this time it seems to make sense for me, as long as it works.

Cut them some slack RJ; it's a lot of work to be the hose, the bag and the nozzle!
