  1. Very, very cool, Mr. Bland! I would love to see some closer pics of these pins. That is a very special find.
  2. Sooooo, maybe they are honoring Yamauchi-san's memory by pulling their head out? Good news in any case.
  3. You really had a first world crappy childhood, huh? Surprised you didn't wind up with X-Men, it really was the game I heard the most about in the day as far as disappointing buyers. Anyway, you reminded me of another disappointing early game purchase, Super Pitfall for the coco. I was so excited to get it and it was absolute poo.
  4. Ha! I am playing that now and quite enjoying it. But I paid $1 for it. Mine is a tie, and I bought them both the same day - Firefly and Sorcerer for the 2600. Superman 64 would actually be worse if graded by enjoyment per dollars spent. What a piece of crap!
  5. I had this happen just recently. After an hour and a half of failed attempts at the last level of Starfox Assault, I kept reliving it in my dream and, of course I couldn't even beat it in my dreams. Klax is another game that invaded my dreams, but interestingly, I never had it happen until I got the Gameboy version with b/w patterns instead of colors. I guess if you can't dream in color that would make sense.
  6. Sounds great, I will be there. This helps fill the gap between expos!
  7. Well, the 3D just really appeals to the kid in me; it gives me flashbacks to looking at viewmaster reels, which I seemed to get every christmas. I haven't noticed any specific eyestrain, but I do adjust the depth quite a bit depending on the game. Funny, I remember my friends mom constantly worrying about the eyestrain of us playing Atari six hours a day sitting three feet from the console tv. If she was right, it had a delayed effect, cause my eyes are just now going to S#!t.
  8. Great idea Al! I am sure there were many AA'ers running around last year that I totally missed.
  9. Oh well, look there....we were on the path ourselves and couldn't see it.
  10. Maybe AtariAge needs it's own "Zee Games" to sell borderline products?
  11. I listened to Eminem's new single because of the name and cool logo. Big mistake.

  12. I definitely like the look of the LE cabinet over the others. All I can say is that the playfield does not impress me, so it better have some kick-ass sound and be fun to play. Edit: Yeah, it really looks like all you are getting with the LE, other than the nicer cabinet, is the wireframes and two metallic space turds.
  13. Whhhaaaattt?? I know what I am playing tonight!
  14. Nice find Charles!! Heureux hamburger chute, mon ami! Je vais avoir La liberté frites avec mine.
  15. Nice work!! Just gave it a quick once over, but I will try it some more tonight.
  16. Retro-girl hasn't been around much lately; yes her reading is not really smooth, but somehow kind of charming to me because of it. Haven't really noticed the volume issue, but I am usually listening via earbuds. While I am at it, a shout out for Ferg's own retro-girl (Mrs Fergeson?) I really enjoy hearing her readings from the manuals.
  17. Towering Inferno hands down for me. Every time you clear the flames on a floor and save all four victims is like winning the superbowl. The challenge of the top floor is a little too frustrating, though.
  18. - Finishing Pitfall 2 - Finishing Fathom - Finding the hidden kingdom in Mountain King One I haven't managed yet: - Making $1,000,000 in Tax Avoiders
  19. I collect a lot of handhelds, but I am finding this is one of the lines I dig more than others. Mostly, I am picking up any that are a few bucks or less, but I will pay a little more for any of the video game themed ones. I just picked up a Vindicators, which is kind of fun.
  20. Thanks! I realize it is tentative, but I will add the ones I don't have to my shopping list for the expo next month.
  21. That is a good one. The joystick also twists as the control for Pole Position.
  22. I thought they had done a "top ten gaming mascots" list a few months back, but looking at past shownotes, I don't see it. Am I crazy? They had the whole argument about Pac-Man or Space Invader guy being the better mascot, maybe it wasn't a top ten.
  23. Really good video quality, Chris! I also had never seen the site before and appreciate the reviews of sports games which tend to get ignored most of the time. Subbed.
  24. Mike, nice work on the reboot! Casual browsing of items is so much more friendly now. I will get some stuff listed this weekend and see how it goes.
